Anyone finding the Best of 80's set? Saw it once and hesitated buying it for some reason, went back next morning and it was gone. Spent the last week trying to find another. I am always too late.

I did get Arise Serpentor. Yay! I finally have Dusty!

On another note, I was at a WM in PA and they had one CP left. It was the black headed destro!? I have seen 5 of those now. Just did not care for that one, so did not buy it and at $12.88 it was easy to walk away.

Damn, I haven't been in a Wal-Mart in a while - not since I hurt myself (not sure if I mentioned that here - I had have surgery on my leg for a ruptured tendon). Really put off the hunt for toys - it's good that there wasn't anything Joe related coming out.

I checked my Target (Annapolis) and they were still only 30% off. They did have one Tiger Rat left (maybe two) I didn't pick one up because nobody asked me to. I walked away empty handed, some stuff sold but they still have a decent amount. I think I'll wait until they drop 50% before I bite again. They did have at least eight or nine Python Conquests (no joke)...I know they will still be there when the price drops 50%.

I don't know, I didn't get any. I flipped through the singles but they all seem kind of blah to me. Maybe it's the sameness of the uniforms but now that I've seen them in person I'm not impressed. Shipwreck was the only one I considered a maybe. The rest are a easy pass.
Cobra Gunship was kind of cool and I almost walked away with it until I scanned it. Nope...they can keep it for $24.99.

Just left the WM in Glen Burnie...nothing new. Went to the Target in the same shopping center, and they had even less. Just a couple cobra flints and pilot scarletts. Lots of empty pegs in the joe section, but no signs of ROC. If all stays quiet and no one calls 911, Ill be at TRU when they open and let u know if anything is there. on a side note, i did get some MT. DEW at WM for 1.98 a 12pk, so it wasnt a total loss

TRU at the Glen Burnie mall was a bust too. They had the snake eyes dress up set and the tough troopers, which look like the rejected cousins of rescue heros, but no ROC stuff otherwise. I asked the customer service lady who radioed the guy in the back who said that on 7-10, the front display which is now transformers will be turned into a GI Joe display...so i guess another week

Every where is stocking up this Tuesday with Joe Merchandise. Wal-Mart and Toys R' Bust aren't going to clearance the old stuff so I wonder if they will just pack it on a back end cap. I've seen the snake eyes halloween costume in stores already. My buddy called me about an hour ago from the Bethesda TRU and said he had a complete shopping cart full of ROC vehicles and figures. He said he got one of everything and an extra Night Raven for me. Haven't hit the Annapolis TRU yet. Will report back when I do.

The Bel Air TRU has the ROC stuff right when u walk in, they dont have much left at all, a couple pits and a couple night ravens, 1 each of the small vehicles and a handfull of figures. The Abingdon target is stocked to the max with just about every figure minus destro, neo viper, baroness and desert camo duke, a couple small vehicles, about 10 night ravens and 1 ice dagger

Traget in Annapolis is fully stocked with ROC merchandise. They have stuff in the aisle plus two end caps. Picked up the Cobra Gunship and Night Raven and will eventually pick up the Armadillo/Thunder, Scrap Iron/Ferret packs (sorry, only go by vintage names) after that I'm done. Nothing else caught my eye.

the target in rockville had tons of figures from the movie, they had about 10 covergirls there. the rare one there was the hood snake eyes, only 1 of those but none of the baroness and destro. everything else at least 10 of each. all fully loaded vechicles too. stop by pick some up!

Most of the targets in Harford County are loaded down with the figures, like up to 10 pegs full of them. I would definitely agree with this. The Towson Target had a good amount of Sgt. Stone, Covergirl, and Scarlett, but no Destro or Agent Helix.

Single figs are now $6.99 at Target. I picked up four today ( Agent Scarlett Camo & Armor Suit, Cover Girl and Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes) as well as the Night Raven from Target in Columbia. I am still waiting for the RHINO to appear as well as both ver of Eels, Helix and the Wal-Mart 2 Packs. Target Annapolis and Target Crain Hwy have no more 25th left. Both Targets and TRU Annapolis are pretty much picked clean of the desirable ROC figures. Kohls was the first place to get in the Mutt, Croc Master, Wraith wave. Remember all the craziness surrounding the variant Wraith? He was found at Kohls most of the time. If they have ROC figures they have really good sales from time to time. I remember getting Mutt for around $4 and change when he was first out.

dude... if it's a weekday I'd have asked to talk to the store manager. Not even the manager on duty but the store manager. Obviously don't ask the employees that told you but rather when you are getting ready to leave the store talk to customer service. Most store managers, while busy, will talk to a customer if they insist on the store manager.
Get the name of the employees that told you that so you can at least back up your claim with the name of an employee.
As calmly as possibly, tell him what you've been told. Tell him that's a serious issue for the store and, as a customer, you expect to be able to find the things you want rather then the leftovers after the employees pick over it. If s/he seems to not want to deal with it, get the store manager name, ask for the name and email address and phone number of the district manager and follow up. Hell, if it has to go too far you may get a free giftcard out of it.

Target takes this kind of thing seriously. I was almost fired from one because of my supervisor back when PS2's came out. She put some away for employees then, smartly, had me get them out of the back so I was on camera.
Anyway, Target does take it seriously and the store manager should be able to ensure the product hits the floor.

Target and Best Buy are very good about customer service. I advised a friend of mine to email Best Buy corporate about a similar situation and the district manager got on the store manager and my friend even got a discount on the product.

I never had an issue with that store. Whenever the waves were hitting product was on the shelves, you just had to be quick to get what you needed. As far as asking employees, I asked a couple of times and they helped me with no fuzz.

I'm starting to hit up every Target for their summer toy clearance sales. I saw the Terminator Jet Warthog with Blair Williams for $12 and a Resolute 5-pack for $13. I think those big Forces of Valor Tanks are on sale for under $15.

I just opened the Night Raven I got last week from Target and I'm happy. This jet would be a 10/10 if it could fit another figure and had rolling landing gear but hey maybe Hasbro will re-tool the vintage one for release in the future.

Has anyone purchased those 2-packs from Wal-Mart or are they even out yet? I'm about to purchase Helix online when hasbrotoyshop has it since she most likely won't be easy to find.

I've read all your posts about scalpers and shady Target employees taking all the 25th but you guys have to remember this stuff was CHEAP. Single figures were $1.74, comic packs and 12" were $3 something. Who in their right mind would pass that up Joe fan or not? GI JOE is name brand recognition. If Grandma strolls past the clearance aisle and sees jets for $6.74 she is gonna say to herself..."I know GI JOE...I'll put these away for Christmas for Johnny, Billy and little Joey"

I was so happy this past saturday when I strolled into my local target and found a python conquest for 6.75 an the mighty muggs for 2.50 each.

Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes hasn't been too hard to find in retail. I've seen his figure at least seven times in Target. Agent Helix is the holy grail of new figures right now. She might not be on shelves because of heavy scalpers here in MD.

Ehhh, I wouldn't bet on it being scalpers. That entire wave has mostly been found on the west coast and midwest so far; just hasn't saturated on the east coast yet. The production runs on these figures is going to be far, far higher than any of the 25th stuff...so I wouldn't worry about 'scalpers' getting in the way.

Generally, more people is going to mean fewer figures on the shelves, and the population density around DC is pretty damn high. I lived in Northern VA for the first two years of the 25th line's existence, and I can tell you they were not easy to find on shelves. The thing is, the movie line is not going to be the same as the 25th; its production run is far larger. I mean, of 37 figures, only 12 are so far hard to find; that's a big change from prior waves. There's no reason to think that W3 of both collections won't be just as plentiful as W1 and W2.

simple answer, yes. it's a very saturated market area. it was VERY difficult collecting the 25th line in this area.

i've see loads of the firefly variants at targets in this area. gaithersburg target had 5 red and 2 lack a couple days ago. i have not seen any of the figure variants.

I picked up Deep Six and Sgt Stone but they only had one of each. They have at least 3 of each vehicle and they're on sale for $13.99. Unless you are looking for these particular figures or they restock (unlikely) not much to get excited over.

I'll wait until September for a re-stock and bargain sale. I see the hype for RoC toys will die down quickly after the movie hits theaters just like the other movie toylines did this year. Have you realized that Transformers ($11.88 +), Terminator (now on clearance), Wolverine (still $7.99, wtf?) and Star Trek (now on clearance) are warming the shelves at Target, Wal-Mart and TRU. Maybe it's because they're overpriced and we're in a recession?
I wonder why is it so hard for retailers to set lower prices for toys as an initiative for more people to buy? Hasbro ships out to retailers who set these ridiculous prices that most people can't afford. Kids these days are Ipod, Itunes, video games junkies so action figures are literally declining in sales. Action Figures are truly becoming novelty items for us 23 year old and up collectors...

my youngest had some b-day gift cards so we went to tru today. i showed him all the ROC stuff and he asked, where are the other ones? he did not want any of the ROC stuff. he went immediately to the joe aisle looking for the 25th/modern stuff.

we ended up leaving without any joes. he bought a wii game.

i did see a couple ROC barbeques which was a first for me. the rest were picked through pretty well.

I feel Accelerator Suit Duke will be on TJMaxx shelves for half price by the end of the Fall...

I mean I love G.I Joes especially for the vehicles/playsets/vipers galore!!! I just wish Hasbro would re-invent the wheel from the 80's by giving collectors a vast choice of figures, vehicles and playsets to choose from. I remember when I was 5, Woolworth and Toys R' Us were stacked with every figure that I wanted. Now I have to go on scavenger hunts around MD just to find three to four figures I really want. So annoying...

on Sunday, I got my TRU ad, went to Towson Target and now have Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, Destro and Scarlett (desert assault... not the camo one).
I also picked up a Python Patrol Conquest for $6! Seemed to be the last one there. Gave it to my son as he's into planes and all that stuff. I really meant to hold onto it for his birthday but my wife "convinced" me to open it. :P


I also stopped by WalMart and got the Snake Eyes t-shirt!

Target requires you to have the ad with you to price match. As far as finding an ad just go to TRU they have them at the front counter.

that all depends the tru you go to i asked for a sale paper to take to target and they said they only had one and they had to keep it at the front desk. good thing there was on in my sunday paper

target rockville just got in cases and cases of gi joe movie figures as of tues. the 21st. i picked up 1 snake guys and 1 baroness. they had at least 5 of each. i still need for the 100.00 base set to go on discount for 50.00. then i might pick one up. do you think i can just hide these figures, sets etc, until months after the movie comes out. then buy it for the 75%off price. just like some of the employees. at this other place i worked at way back. employees would hide magazines until they expire. then they would get them for free in about 2 months later.

Aberdeen Target had a PITT & Night Raven as well as a bunch of the smaller vehicles. only figs i was interested in was stone, shipwreck & deep six of which there was one of each.
pretty disappointing that they only had one endcap for 4" Joes. 2nd endcap for other Joe stuff

right now Maryland is waaaaayyy far behind in getting new Waves of figures + vehicles...

Other states had ARAH and Modern Era waves 11-13 about 3 months before they hit shelves over here. Walmart never sold waves 11 & 13 in some places. Now the RHINO, Dragon Hawk, Sky Sweeper Jet, Walmart & Target Exclusives as well as the waves with Helix and Sgt. Flash are out in some places and some of us here still can't find a stinkin' PP Snake Eyes.

I think retailers have to sell out of figures on pegs to replenish the stock on floor aisles, instead of just periodically placing a few new figures to full the pegs. However, as I expected, only collecters/scalpers are hitting up Targets and TRUs and picking select figures out from the Joe line and thus keeping those pegs moderately full until atleast the movie hits theaters in two weeks. When I worked for Target in 2003 I would check in the back for customers as well as stock newer figures when I saw they were getting low. I guess things are different now.

I think we could expect to see more Joe product being pushed in August around the time of the film. I know that Transformers front end cap has to come down soon since no one is really buying them.

Honestly, even with all the new stuff being announced until next year I am underwhelmed. I stopped looking for new stuff and now I just order what I want online. Too much of a hassle driving from one town to the next and never seeing anything new.

I've seen the Ice Dagger again and passed. I think I'll wait for the SnowCat and Cobra Rage since I am limited on space for toys and I have to start being selective on what I buy...

Just curious... where have you been looking? I've seen tons of PP Snake Eyes. Towson Target had a bunch. They actually had a really good assortment of figures. I believe (though may be wrong) that I saw figs from the Helix wave but no Helix.

It may be company distribution that is doing this rather than Hasbro...

I've seen PP Snake Eyes plenty of times before, however some people on here still go on the hunt for him. I think each store is responsible for properly distributing/ordering Figure waves and not Hasbro.

The Helix Wave consists of Pit Commando, Sgt. Flash and Cobra Eel, if any of these are on shelves than that means somebody here has her.

My friend found this wave at a Walmart on Tuesday. He is in the Reisterstown area so I'm not sure which Walmart. I'll ask him and report back.

The Dragon Hawk is better? Thats a surprise to me. I thought since the SkySweeper was bigger and fit two figures while the Dragon Hawk was really a let down from the original. I'll pick it up on sale...

Has anyone been to the Target and Wal-Mart on 198 in Laurel, MD. They never had anything worth the drive when I used to hunt for Waves 11-13 last year. Did they get any better or is it still a waste of time?

yeah...I don't know what to say. I believe him but took it with a grain of salt. However, Target Annapolis DOES have the new wave. Picked up Flash about 15 minutes ago. Eel, Elite Viper, Hawk and Helix I left on the pegs. No new vehicles.

If you're talkin' about Annapolis Hawk I think they had two. Helix they only had one and she had a bent up card.....it wasn't me I swear :)
Check and see if they have the new vehicles. I didn't really go through them to well. They may be hidden.

I am actually happier with the ROC figs than I wanted to be. I was hoping to be done after 25th/ME. But some of these figs are just too awesome to pass up. Elite Viper comes to mind. That fig ROCKS!

it's funny, I'm not an MoC collector but I'd still prefer to buy an uncreased card. It makes me feel it's new still rather than something that's been pawed over. I may want a Helix... but not enough to drive to Annapolis for a bent up card. I'm still gonna open the figure. ah well, they're showing up so hopefully I'll find some soon. Towson Target and Mondawin Target did not have any Monday... but I'll be on the lookout tomorrow morning.

Terminator Salvation Action Figures are $1.78 at Target. I picked up Common and Marcus Wright along with an Elite Viper and Roc Cobra Eel this afternoon from the Target in Towson Shopping Center in Baltimore County/Towson, Putty Hill Rd. & Goucher Blvd.

the new vechiles were right behind the cobra SUV, the boy grab the pit commando, it is a shame some out there try to ruin the fun for MOC collectors.

The RoC merchandise is going to have a bigger section during the Target reset. The newest figures have been pushed behind the older figures for some odd reason. I have found/seen plenty of Crimson Vipers, Elite Vipers and Cobra Eels along with Helix, General Hawk, Sgt. Flash and Pit Commandos when I look at the end of each peg..
Some Targets are still honoring the 2 for $10 TRU comparison while some others just have the $6.99 each. I bought Flash the other day and I don't understand what he functions as with a rope tied around his ankle that is attached to the clip of a sub machine gun. He's a cool figure but doesn't look like anything in particular...

All signs of wave three are dead in neck of the woods as of today....
TRU and Target of Columbia didn't have much of any of this wave left and Target over here off of Cherry Hill Rd. only has a crimson viper left. I'll guess they'll restock tomorrow or Wednesday...

i had to hit the stores today (back to school shopping)

germantown walmart now has roc on an island shelving unit. nothing of interest really.

germantown target has been picked through well. i did see some viper commando's and elite vipers.

rockville target has been picked clean.

overall, as many times as i have flipped through the roc toys, i still have not brought myself to actually buy any of them. i'm actually proud of myself for saving myself the money and frustration of joe hunting for the roc line. while some of the figures are interesting, i still have not seen one in person that i felt compelled to buy.

while i'm interested in the roc line in general, it lacks any history or lineage for me. it may sound strange or i may not explain it well but i see them but there is just no emotional attachment to them so i really have not felt the same compulsion to buy as i did and could not resist with the 25/me line.

it's actually a very good thing for me too. roc line is expensive to say the least. i've probably saved myself a couple hundred dollars already. i've managed to resist the new 7 packs and even wave 5 vehicles which still have me in shock.

anyone still finding any good 25/me finds? i'm still looking for 3 resolute bats. the only place i've found them is walmart which has all the usual undesireables. ross has the old dvd sets but still have not found the best of 80's yet.

TJ Maxx and Marshalls is the hotspot for all things 25th Anniversary. I saw some Hall of Heroes Crimson Guards for $6.99 and all of the DVD packs there. I believe they'll start carrying Resolute 5-packs in the Fall....

also, FYE in Arundel Mills is supposed to start carrying the defense on cobra island 7-packs sometime in the future....
