exactly what i noticed and posted earlier... there were 4 pegs, now more. they are replicating! no chance in hell of the germantown (it's in germantown) getting restocked which sucks because it's just around the corner from me. the gaithersburg target is the 2 story building by rio. they have a few arctic destro's but not enough to even fill a peg.

it's a really shitty thing that someone did.

Today I went to TRU/BRU in Columbia off of Dobbin Rd. and Snowden River Pkwy and found the last Renegades Cobra Trooper on pegs for $8.99. Since this is a tricky time of year I figured what the hell and walked up to the cashier lane to check out. The cashier asked me if I was a collector and I told him yeah. He laughed a little and said some dude calls their store upon opening every morning to check for Joes and probably cleans them out once they get them in. Just letting you guys know that this TRU location is being watched close by a collector, maybe one of us....

I know a guy who used to do this in parts of DE, MD and PA every day! Spent his whole day scouring the lands for new figures 7 days a week! It's crazy how insane some collectors get... Hello everyone, I am new to the Columbia area, and have a question for the local residents: are there no comic/toy shops that cater to the G.I. Joe fan? I am starting to think I was spoiled in my old hometown in upstate NY. We had 3 or so shops that I could go into and buy new 25th and 30th and even vintage stuff any day of the week. Hagerstown WM had Joes removed from the action figure aisle and in the Christmas clearance aisle at $5. Only had Dukes, CC and FF. IRL from VA thread, who posts here, had an interesting post about WM having Joe deleted from their inventory. What I saw at my WM seems to support that information.

Ahg. Our Joe stock @ Columbia WM never got anything recent, and was lame from the get-go since ROC removed the category outright.
Checked Owings Mills Target & Columbia Target, still no sign of the MU wave or new Joes.
No sightings of the Resolute packs either.
Think those dried up? They started to make their way up the coast, than trickled out. Could be this was a low distro buy?

walmart in columbia has these adventure wheels bikes on sale for $2.50 a pop, they are 1:18 in scale and fit relatively well with joes. I'm gonna post some dio pics with them up later this weekend but until then.

Yupp, this is the one spot that you should check out .... Agree, not 'catering' to Joe fans, but you can find some cool stuff there from time to time.
They have a lot of neat stuff, and are very knowledgeable about toys..
Plan on spending an hour in that store, it takes awhile to take everything in.
If you are a Star Wars fan, I'd say that than they would cater to your collection, since a large portion of the store is SW related.

Talk to John the taller fuller bodied owner, he is a real good person. Also in Wheaton MD there is the Toy Exchange, lots of old Joe stuff and if you go on Sunday and talk to Gorge (young pudgy guy) he will show you the vintage parts boxes which is a experience all in itself.

Anyhoot, I saw the Captain America vehicles and Thor Deluxe figures at ROSS yesterday. They had the 4x4 and Jet for $9.99 each as well as Thor with hot Jizz missiles and Frost Giant.

At Target, I saw one of each latest MU CP with DD/BE and WM/QS on Sunday night.

Still got my fingers crossed for poC Wave 4 Low-light to one day pop up at Marshalls/TJ Maxx....one can only hope.

Well I am not too sure about that man. After Christmas last year all the targets near me did not restock again until two weeks before this Christmas and the Walmarts and TRUs didn't start getting any Jos in again until about May this year. Literally not a single store restocked any toys (not just Joe) until May... So that being said it looks like Joe is done in my area until the Movie line... SS never came and never will here... Never saw a single case or Wave 3 or 4 all the stocking around here was Wave 2!

Found most of Wave 4 yesterday at TRU. Of course someone swiped up the damn Zombie Vipers before I got there. Picked up an Airtight, 30th Cobra Trooper and Sci-Fi and left the rest. They had Renegades: Cobra Commander, Firely, Duke, Scarlet, Ripcord as well as 30th Cobra Viper, Steel Brigade Ver. 1 & 2 and Hazard Viper. I called before I went here and asked if they had Joes in stock by this product code: 588331.

Still on the lookout for 30th Anniv./Renegades Storm Shadow and Zombie Vipers.

Target raised their prices which means a restock and sale on most action figures should be here by early Spring. Hopefully we'll see some of 30th Anniversary Waves 3 & 4 before May 28th.

Just got both Resolute 7-packs as well as the Dreadnocks 7-pack from BBTS. I like that the Joe Resolute set has figures that aren't as brightly colored as pictured in promo pics. The Resolute Cobra set is let down, with Zartan being the best out the whole pack. The Dreadnocks all look awesome with the exception of Zanzibar which is a horrible modernized look for a biker gang/pirate dude.

Also, TRU is the only place currently restocking with waves 3 & 4. Depending upon where you live, Walmart is either expanding the space for Joes or placing them on clearance. Super-Walmart in Laurel is no longer carrying Joes until May, when the movie comes out. I spoke to Jeff (toy dept. manager) this week and he said that all the orders for G.I. Joes are scheduled for May release so I guess it's above his ability to continue ordering from the 30th Anniversary/ Renegades selection.

From knowing people that work there as well as actually talking to a toy dept manager there is a good time lapse between orders from Christmas season to Spring reset. Literally, the pegs will be almost bare in some Walmarts until they get the new layout sheets for re-organizing where things go sometime late next month - early April. So in an optimistic scenario, whatever Joes didn't get placed on floors by before New Years, may start appearing on pegs this March when the reset will be underway. This means that the four pegs that are there right now act as a just in case the store decides to carry the brand again in March.

As for Super Walmart in Laurel, MD I think this may be the case. If the distribution center has some cases of 30th Anniversary/PoC/Renagades left after the Spring reset they might just find their way to this location. This doesn't mean that the store had to order more because technically its just going to get sent there if its available in the system.

On the down side, I've seen somewhere here that Hasbro's ordering list that being used by Walmart doesn't have Joes on it at all. Avengers, Transformers, Marvel, Star Wars, etc. but Joes most likely won't be reordered until Hasbro releases assortment information for G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

As for what in the hell is going on with Pursuit of Cobra leftovers hitting discounters that has me at a lost. Since a majority of the PoC vehicles already hit stores like Ross and Marshall's my guess is that just enough was made for the orders that Hasbro received by retailers. If we get any at all it will be at a minimal, which is good for the brand.

First time poster on the sightings board. Been in MD for about 5 years now. Grew up here and moved to NYC then came back after I started a family. Been picking through Joe waves all along, after having them in my childhood. Anyhow, on my way to a meeting in Baltimore, I stopped by the GB TRU at opening. Picked up an Airtight, 30th Cobra Trooper and Sci-Fi. Also Renegades: Ripcord, Tunnel Rat and Cobra Viper. Then I stopped by the Catonsville (Rt 40) TRU, but didn't find much. I totally disagree with Underworld Awakening being the best in the series. I personally thought it was horrendous. Loved the other 3 but thought this film had a poorly written plot. Not impressed with the first 2 waves. The Ultimate Thor and some of the Captain America figures look nice but I do not need additional Iron Man repaints and Thors that look way too similar to the already released Thor Movie versions. No Hawkeye, Nick Fury or Black Widow in the first 2 waves which I was disappointed with. I am curious to see what the Avengers version of the Hulk looks like as I have not been fond of the Marvel Universe Hulk's to date. I still use my Super Hero Showdown version with my Marvel Universe collection.

That winter, think it was 1-2 weeks after Christmas, there was some crazy backup on the beltway, had to take an insane detour from Owings Mills to Westminster out to Frederick back to Columbia to get home, decided to stop at a random Walmart in the middle of nowhere and found a ton of them on clearance there. Got one of each from that country WM, but never saw a regular shipment or shelf full at the local WM's that season. Think part of that snafu came from bad assortments at their distro centers, and that they got them in soooo late for the season for a store exclusive. Correct me if I am wrong, but they didn't really hit until a week or two before the holiday, when they were supposed to hit in October / early November?

Yeah, I pretty much stayed away from ROC too. I will probably pass on most of these as well unless the movie is totally awesome. The new CC is cool tho. He looks like he belongs in the evolution process of the character unlike the ROC version.

ok local tankers im in the process of opening a very small toy shop with a mixture of other collectables i will let you know where and when when i have more details but it will be local. my reasoning for asking this is what do you want in a toy store ? these answers will help me make things good for you guys save you travel time and gas and also keep stock of those hard to find items. i want to make a store for you the fellow collectors that will make you want to keep coming back for more so any advice on what you want out of a store will greatly help both of us

A great collector store has to be organized. The local comic book shops in the area display things and it looks all sorts of cluttered. Not to mention they never venture to look at any pricing guides for their merchandise or think customers are idiots.

I'd gladly purchase cases of product from a local shop rather than BBTS, Entertainment Earth, or HTS. The only downside would be cost. Can a local retailer order enough to keep the costs roughly the same? I imagine you'll definently want to set up a virtual E-Bay shop to help sell volume.

I think you hit the nail on the head with stocking hard-to-find items that are scarfed up by employees, E-Bay fiends etc. It'd be great to have a Pile-Of-Loot subscription service to be able to purchase boxes of items once they go on order from Hasbro.

Last but not least, the real jewel would be organizing a trip to the SDCC's and coming back with the exclusives many of us can never get. That would get my business. But that means having connections and navigating that arena.

Very good point. Please don't crap in the same playground... As mentioned, being a joe collector in this area is not fun or easy. It's highly congested to say the least so scavenging the local stores only makes it that much more dreadful for everyone. Take the example of the person(s) dumping arctic destro at the Germantown target. That ruined the store for many of us local to it.

That being said, I don't expect a small toy store to compete with Box prices but I don't mind really provided its within reason. There was a comic store in lake forest mall that got tome joes in at times and the prices could be laughable at times. I wish you the best and if local and reasonable, you'll have another customer.

have no intentions on taking away from the local market at all my idea is not to steal from anyone in any way if i get stuff it will be from a distributor (as i will be a business) anything outside of that is just extras i had from previous purchases and stuff i find along the way but not from retail and it will be a multitude of stuff from some comic stuff to toys and other collectables so dont worry tankers nothing will come from your pockets or stores in your area

have been there AM & PM last 2 days... they only have the regular W1 Episode 1 figs... I'm looking for the "Discover the Force" Walmart exclusive wave, some amazing figs in the assortment.
They have none, nor do they have the WM exclusive multi-packs out yet.
I hate Walmart.

Hey guys, I'm kinda stuck here and wanted to see if anyone would be interested in my ARAH USS FLAGG. I just moved and I don't have the space to display this any longer. It sucks to have to let it go, but I'd rather it go to a good home instead of sitting in a box in storage.

About the FLAGG:
Ship itself is 100% complete (all original parts, no repros) with blue prints.
Keel Haul w/ pistol and file card.
No Mic or Box.
It also comes with 2 sets of structure beams, 2 lower masts as the original had a break, and a couple extra turret missiles.

It was "shock strike" Thor (looks like he did in the solo movie). I think you're thinking of "battle hammer" Thor which I haven't seen yet.

strar02, I wouldn't worry about these figs since they will be plentiful by May. From my understanding, these are all the molds were are going to get for the line so whatever villains they actually fight in the film may not even get a proper release in retail (Thor Wave 4 with Sif, uhm hmmm.....). I only want Ultimate Thor and Hawkeye and the rest of the stuff can rot off the shelves. These two will not be widely available until a week or two before the film is released.

I saw Avengers Iron Man 3.75" figures at two TRU for over $10 each. WTF are they smoking to think that anyone would shell out that amount for and action figure that's been overproduced for the last two years?

I can't believe they are asking $10 for 4 inch Avengers figures, that is ridiculous. I do want the Ultimates versions of Thor and Hawkeye I saw from Toy Fair. I also want the Avengers movie versions of Hawkeye and Black Widow but that is about it. The Marvel Universe Black Widow is horrible in my opinion so I definitely hope I can score a movie Black Widow.

My wife picked up a couple of the new Avengers movie figures for me on the way home last night. I got Battle Hammer Thor (Ultimates version), Shield Launcher Captain America and the Hulk. Luckily my wife had a $5 off coupon as the $10 price tag on these figures is outrageous. Let me first say these figures are not worth $10 or even the Marvel Universe price tag and I hope this is not an indication of the price tag for the GI Joe line going forward. Thor is a decent figure but he has Star Wars articulation except for a new hip joint which I actually like. Capt America is a decent figure, better than some of the Capt America movie figures. I did not even open Hulk, he is attrocious and I told my wife she can take him back.

So besides Iron Man, Captain America and Hulk, we most likely won't see that much of the many other characters in the flim. No Shield Agents, no Maria Hill, no Skrulls, no Nick Fury, no Wasp, no Ant Man/Goliath/Giant Man, most likely Black Widow will not make it to retail and Hawkeye will be a needle in a hay stack.

Oh yeah, aren't they supposed to fight something? I doubt retailers give a damn since this is what they tell Hasbro they want more of. If we get any versions of the force they are fighting against it will be in Marvel Universe somewhere down the line.

Plus these are $10 because they expect collectors to jump on it the moment they arrive on pegs; however they'll be 2 for $10 around October time because nobody needs more of same three characters. It's a shame Iron Man 2 crap has been on pegs for more than two years, Captain America figures were literally pulled by Hasbro reps to make room for this line and Thor Wave 2 is finally hitting saturation after eight months of the release of the film and they are pushing the same exact product back on shelves for an even higher price.

Those stores get different products from different toylines when they receive their shipments. They don't get a shipments of only GIJOE items, meaning vehicles, figs 7 packs etc.
They get whatever shows up on that truck. There is no organization to it.
But hey, keep thinking that way and maybe you'll find some HISS scouts some day.

that sucks man. I live 2 miles from all 3, and that's my zone, just don't get enough time in the week to hunt, and can go weeks at a time without hitting anything.

for MU & Legends, that comic shop on Snowden is the cuprit I believe. They seem to have all the new ones (for inflated costs), and all 3 Dobbin shops are in their 5 minute commuting zone.
for SW & others, I'm convinced the shop in Ellicott (All-time toys or something?) might be picking from the liter. I like that store though, it's clutch, and they have a ton of awesome stuff.

My most lucky spots are indeed Columbia, MD on Dobbin Rd. Either the last or first Friday & Saturday of each month. I actually might go there on a whim at early morning and find some jewels. This is the only place I've ever saw Death Mask Archangel at Target! Conversely, this is also the most collector saturated area in my hunting grounds because according to cashiers at TRU off of Dobbin Rd. there is a collector that calls almost every day and gets things ASAP.

Other heavy collector spots are definitely the Super-Walmart off of Russett Green Terrace & Rt. 198 in Laurel, MD as well as the Target directly across the street. They recently stopped carrying joes and will not start again until Spring time. No word on if this means Retaliation or 30th anniversary.

Places I have the least luck is in Rockville, which isn't only pricey but densely populated with people that just shop. The TRU off of Old Georgetown Rd. & Rockville Pike is always friggin' empty. I wonder if they even have stock boys for the action figure aisle since it looks the same for months on in. The Target is worth a good look but is significantly more expensive than other areas in Maryland. The ROSS there is complete mess and most likely has open/damaged boxes of Joe product because parents don't care if their kids tear the damn store up. The TJ Maxx in the same shopping plaza isn't worth the walk.

I live near the ROSS store in Colesville off of Briggs Cheney and its not worth the drive. I've checked this location at least three times a week and they haven't received anything new Joe wise since last Fall. The Target in Beltsville off of Cherry Hill Rd. is also waste of gas since they don't have a toy manager but a person responsible for ordering for three departments that really forgets that some items have been out of stock for months.

TRU, Target, TJ Maxx and Walmart in Towson Shopping center is worth a good look. I remember earlier last year I scooped up over $100 worth of Joe goodness in one trip at all three that are in the same walking vicinity. The comic book store off of Joppa Rd. near Glory Days Grill has new MU but are dumb expensive. The ROSS and Kmart on Joppa Rd. and Perring Pkwy don't have much either. White Marsh is further north but rarely has enough new stuff at the Walmart and Target to make it worth your while.

As for Marvel Legends, it looks like they are TRU exclusive since Walmart and Target hasn't placed them in stock yet and the street date for these was the beginning of this moth. I think TRU.com has a few in stock at $17.99 each but thats our best bet until the summer when more becomes widely available at a decent price.

Even to today I have yet to find a toy/collector shop in MD that has newer Joe/MU/ML stuff in stock. Everything is vintage which isn't bad but I prefer the newer Joes over the old O ring ones.

I found two sets at different Targets last week. Got my friend a set and bought Hope for myself. They're in most Targets but some of them are enforcing the no sale till the 26th of the month.

Use the DCPI and if they have some in the back tell them to bring them out. If you get lucky maybe they won't notice the sale date.

Still no sign of PoC Wave 3 Alpha Vehicles in my area. Each ROSS store is only stocked with those hideous MARS 3-packs from three years ago. I saw Mortal Kombat toys at ROSS on Friday for $5.99 each but they look weak. They had Reptile and Sub-Zero along with the 6" translucent 2 pack of Jax and Reptile for $9.99.

I had the entire latest wave in my hands at Walmart earlier this month and they wanted $8.99 for each. These are T-crotch figures at 3.75" so my limit for anything besides Joe at this scale is $7.99. I put them back and went to TRU which wanted $10.99 each for the same figures. Worst, Target wants $9.99 for each one. I can wait for them all to show up at TJMaxx/Marshalls for $5.99 each like the wave with Kit Fisto.

Hey Phizz! I'll pass on those 2, Sentinel is my main guy I'm interested in.. I'll let you know if I find those 2 POC cancelled vehicles though; have been on the lookout for a Scout tank for awhile, very tough to come across.

he's not going to be hard to find, he's case packed one per case.
the red flame one is the variant, he's going to be a bit tougher to locate.
have not seen one of those yet, not the clear shield Steve Rogers.
This is an awesome wave, with the exception of Klaw.

ya know its bad when i have a lifeline in my hand and i put it back even though i have one unopened i like to open one and i debated for 10 minutes wether to buy it or not and i wouldnt bother asking where the cases were def picked through only figures left were steel brigade 1 tr couple scarletts and a couple ripcords couple cobra troopers beyond thAT nothing they did have marvel legends but no ghost rider 8(

Also, I finally broke down and bought a Tech Deck diorama - Pulaski Park Street Tour, DC for $9.99 at ROSS yesterday. This is awesome for Joes and could used as a gathering ground for Shock Troopers.
