Every Target store in the Maryland area is bone dry from not ordering new 2011 action figures until later on in the Spring/Summer season. If you could see March 27th as the end of the first quarter of 2011, its a sure bet that all Targets will wait for the second week of April to start putting new stuff on the shelves. Crazy that I'm more excited about the Captain America toy line than PoC Waves 5-6. Guess I can wait until May to even start looking again.

Nothing new at the Ross in Columbia... just the same 2 hiss tanks and fury's.

Here's the link to complain about your local Walmart no longer having a Joe section. It's not a corporate decision so its solely based on each store not wanting to carry it:

I've stopped looking for a little while. Every Walmart, Target and TRU looks the same since Christmas. I keep getting told the same from every store associate, "we get in new things on a weekly basis, we can't tell when or what it will be..."

In general, things don't pick up until closer to Summer season. Who knows, maybe warehouses just aren't shipping out new stuff to our area because of some complication. Maybe the retailers actually aren't responsible and things are just being postponed or held up in delivery.

The only place I've even seen Joe's at recently has been Target and Toys R Us. Seems Walmart isn't carrying them anymore. Not sure if it's an area or store thing, but I checked about 5 of them and nada trace. Most stores had a large section open with nothing there, no pegs or anything, and lots of new figure sections moved in like Pirates of the Caribbean, Generator Rex, Thor, etc.

TRU in the area has dramatically downsized their JOE footprint, but there was a flux of MU activity over last weekend.. Definitely picked up a few newbee's here and there.
First solid toy-run weekend in a long while.
Anyone having any new luck on the SW Vintage or CW new wave?

yeah its was like that on the grand reopening too, and i wasnt quiet about it ask blackman2005, and only one mu figure on the shelf, yeah right,something just seems shady when dealing with the some of the employees there.

Are there any Walmarts in Maryland still carrying Joes?

Also, I said fugetaboutit with looking for a while. Right now, I am under the impression that things will not pick up until summer. Thats another three damn months. I can save gas and not look or risk waiting until summer and finding leftovers from waves I wanted to collect.

* Joes are currently getting marked back down to $6.88 in retail. Hopefully, it will usher in the newer waves on time....

Yesterday's HAUL

Columbia

Walmart - MU Jean Grey -$8, PoC Storm Shadow - $5, TRON Light Cycle -$7

TRU - was informed that their inventory is still in process for getting updated. They actually scanned the two pegs for G.I. Joe Figure Asst 2010 = PoC and it displayed back as ten in stock while in reality there hasn't been any since last year. The blue sticker actually states 2/27 was the last time they had figures in stock but the inventory system, which allows them to order more, was incorrect for more than a month afterward. This is completely different from the last time when they told me that they would no longer be carrying Joes. WtF? Aren't toys a major priority in a friggin' toy store?

The Disney Store now carries Marvel Universe figures for $9.99 each. I saw a few at the one in Columbia Mall.

ToyZam in Montgomery Mall is closed, they had some stuff there for 50% off a few weeks ago.....

Still, nothing new going into April. I wish retailers would work harder to get things in and flush out old inventory that hasn't moved in more than six months...

I see that GIANT grocery store has PoC Joes for $7.99 each. Not too shabby.

All of the new waves still haven't made there way over here in MD. Kinda tired of hoping for sh^$ to happen. I didn't even go to TRU Columbia today because the guy there told me they are still doing "inventory". It's April and the damn store still isn't getting in new Joes.

Really P O'ed that Zarana is a SDCC exclusive, another thing I won't find....

I just happened to be in the area yesterday for work and popped my head in. I'm not a local. sorry

They had approx 5 of the Hawkman set and 3 of the Aquaman set. Mer-Man was blue...I always thought he was green.

On a side note Target on York Rd (Hunt Valley?) has ALL of the new DCUC figures. I picked up a Robin for my son but they had 2.

There were 2 GB stores, the one by the GB Mall closed down and was re-opened as a Shop Rite grocery store. The other in Pasadena really doesn't keep a fresh stock of anything that I've noticed.

Sometimes I catch a break and find something good over there. I have a friend who works over there and he said that the stock they get is very limited, plus their lazy employees come and go who are supposed to stock on a regular basis.

Your best bet is to find him at a Walmart that gets the straight up W4 case. If the store around you are getting the W4 revision case like other stores then your chance is 0.

I don't know if you ever went and got the W2 MOTU vs DC sets but there is a sale for those packs this week till the 23rd. The sale price is $22 and some change.

Once again the TRU Rockville is useless for anything.

thanks for the good word, guys. Closest WalMart to me doesn't even Carry Joes (smaller store) and the other one I frequent is Towson... seems like it may be the busiest store in the region. CVS up the road doesn't get much and I have yet to see any Joe's at Giant... though I haven't looked lately accept for the one on Bel Air Rd...

I may get to do some hunting next weekend so I'll see what I can find...

Good score at the mega WM on Rt.1 (that place is freakin' huge!).
They have SW figs galore; Jesse w/ Speeder, AT-RT, Flamethrower Clone, Hevy (Training).
Full sell-through of MU, would imagine a decent restock coming soon.
Left a Thor / Goliath at WM / Ridge Road - Ellicott City over the weekend.
Those sets are both pimp, btw.

the Target Cancelled / Ross exclusives are still at Reisterstown Road Ross; they had remains of 2 boxes (Flight Pod, Sandstorm, and Ace w. Glider) yesterday evening.
Had my fill of them, as have many I see.
Have a feeling we're going to get some SW pumped into secondary retail soon, feel the pump is primed for it.

TRU.com has the first wave of Captain America figures for pre-order at $7.99. I copped a Winter Soldier, Ultimate Cap, Classic Cap and WWII Ult. Cap with shipping and handling for $38. With gas being $4 a damn gallon it makes sense just to order online with a $6 shipping fee.

Most of the stuff you order from them are sort of like preorders. Stuff doesn't ship till a month from now.

The thing that is funny is that even online retailers are getting their Windchargers orders either cancelled or not fullfilled. Having customers getting their orders cancelled as well. Having to resort to eBay.

Has there ever been a time before when things was this slow? We are a third way through 2011 and things still haven't picked up since Christmas. Other areas are getting in Shock Troopers and Lowlights in their stores while here with Walmart dropping the damn line we've got screwed out of most of the new stuff.

I'm not too excited over the next two waves of PoC. I would like about three Steel Brigade and few Iron Grenadiers but thats primarily about it. Hopefully things will pick up next month but who knows?

Any fellow Marylander's collect/have extra/want to sell or trade/know where I can find the BBI Elite Force Apache and Black Hawk? Having a rough time finding them and would rather not resort to the price mark-up's of eBay.

I have 'em, but I'm not looking to trade or sell 'em, sorry. I found mine on eBay and through sellers here - that's your best bet at this point, they're long gone from even online retailers. You might get lucky at a flea market or something like that.

ROSS now has the IM2 Rolling Command Center for $16.99. This vehicle pretty cool for all 3.75" MU and IM2 figures....

Anyday now, IM2 figures should start showing up in discount retailers. Also, the midwest is getting PoC figures in discount stores like Mega Mart and Gabriel Brothers. Since in some cases Joes are a discontinued item in stores like Walmart, could we be seeing these soon at ROSS, TJMaxx, Tuesday Morning?

I actually received a windcharger from HTS. I also got a warpath from HTS. They've been really good lately about preorders/shipping. A lot of items say "preorder" with a shipping date a few weeks away, then all of a sudden it ships a couple days later :) You can't go by their shipping dates.

Windcharger has been removed from their site though as of about 2 weeks ago, I think. Warpath has gone in and out of stock at least 2 times so far.

It's sad, because it has become like ebay almost...you have to keep the HTS page bookmarked and keep refreshing and then try to race against time just to GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!

Has anyone heard anything in regards to the release date for the Captain America First Avengers action figures? I originally heard May 1st back in February but haven't seen any updates or mentions of the release date since then. Anyone going to make the rounds on Sunday????

Some stuff has already been put out early in few stores. I've heard of a few Walmart's doing it and I've witnessed some things at a Kmart. I believe the shelf date for the figure line is May 23rd.

However some stores like Walmart don't stick to the street date. The superhero squad figures and role play mask that goes with the Captain America movie line has been on shelves since earlier this month. I presume figures will be on shelves before Memorial Day the latest.

I read on Hasbro Toy Shop that the ship date is 5/23 however TRU.com states 5/16 as well as a couple other sites I found this morning. I am really looking forward to these coming out, much more so than the mediocre Thor movie figures that were just released. Especially the Winter Soldier and Crossbones which will go very nicely with my GI Joe items.

Anyone interested in helping me clear some space for some new stuff? I am going to try and sell some of my ARAH vehicles to make room for some BBI helicopters. I have quite a few things, mostly complete.

Went to Target yesterday and I was told they are still doing inventory. I guess they don't know when they will start getting more things in but they definitely haven't ordered anything new since November. They did a major dump of old crap into the clearance section that will rot the pegs lovely such as:

The 4 inch Green Lantern figures are absolutely pathetic IMHO. Very little articulation and the sculpts are attrocious. Not worth the money. As with most, I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Captain America movie line. I have heard 2 dates online, 5/16 and 5/23. Hasbro Toy Shop states 5/23 and TRU states 5/16. I am hoping for 5/16 myself. Plus I am off work that day so I will be hitting the TRU early on 5/16 to hopefuly score a Red Skull and some Hydra soldiers along with the various Captain America's (Ultimate, Final Battle, Bucky/Cap etc). Not sure if both wave 1 and wave 2 are coming out this month on the same day though. Some sites say yes and others say no. Guess we will see soon.

I read that wave 1 and wave 2 were coming out together so hopefully we will see Cross Bones and some Red Skulls later this month!!!!!

I wonder why do things always show up in Gaithersburg, Glen Burnie and Annapolis before anywhere else. DO these areas just have more people buying Joes than other rgeions in Maryland?

Went to Target in Beltsville and got so damn mad i was about to kick over the damn Bakugan display in front of the "Action Figure" aisle. They literally haven't stocked anything new since the beginning of the year for many toybrands like Star Wars and Joes.

Checked the Rockville area <sigh>.
That TRU is definately not getting any new joes with it's 10 Artic Destros and 5 Zartans. Nothing of interest in that place.

Same can be said of the Target. Nothing new.

I was just there too around 11:47. Same exact stuff has been on pegs since November, I'm seriously done with this area....

That'll save me getting off the highway in Frederick, as they certainly wont get any stock in on a sat/sunday. I'm pretty sure the TRU in Hagerstown is on the way to my mom's place, so if I see anything there I'll post for you guys.

I wish, but this is over the span of a week and most of these stores are in close proximity of each other. Right now I'm checking sites like HTS.com and TRU.com to look for what I need and actually hunting for stuff in retail as a last resort.

Reporting back from Hagerstown yesterday: the TRU is being renovated and they had exactly SQUAT. 2 arctic destros and a jungle viper, plus 2 of the ROC helicopter.

TFs they had 1 peg with a hailstorm & 4 generations figs and like 5 pegs of ROTF deluxes!?!

They didn't even have the PotC or Alien attack Lego sets that all the other TRUs have had for a week or two. The entire store had almost no stock.

That being said, whenever they finish their renovation they'll likely get a ton of stuff in, so whoever lives up there might want to call and see when the renovation will be done and go up that week, they'll likely get all new stuff then. Right now only about 1/2 the floor space had toys at all, the rest was either empty or sectioned off...

Also, I'm getting most of what I want lately from online. I've bought stuff off of BBTS, HTS and TRU.com over a month ago that has yet to show up in retail. I wonder why retailers aren't placing old 2010 stock on clearance to make room for new stuff. The action figure aisles haven't been stocked with anything new since the end of last year in my areas. Really getting worried.

Toys R' Us is starting to get in PoC Wave 6 and Cap toys....

The only one that i know of is the Walmart off of route 7 in the home depot shopping center...and idk if they still carry em but the last time i was at the walmart on north point blvd in dundalk they still had joes but that was a couple weeks ago

On a side note, i checked the TRU in rosedale and they had nothing in the way of GI Joe

It's a shame too... Seems we're 2-3 waves behind on vintage now, they are darn sweet but we're left choking with W1's and W2's.
Not that any of those are bad figs, but you only need 1 Dengar..

But I'm not really finding what I need online for a decent price. TRU.com has a few things but not enough for me to place on one order for the shipping to be worth it. HTS is a piss in the wind with them never having any of the hot items in stock. I also had to make a detour from I-495 after work on Monday since traffic was horrible around 6:30 so Old Georgetown Rd. drops me off right next to the TRU in Rockville.

Unfortunately, the place blows. I wonder if they are going to do a July-August reset like everywhere else because there is noting new each time I dare go there.

Grabbed MU13 Cyclops and Apocaylpse from a Walmart on my lunch. They only had Hope-less Cables, really want one with Hope. The store had a least two cases, so there are still a decent amount of everyone in the wave left.

WM on Rt.40 (big shawtee) has Cap'n America Deluxe figs, several in fact.. that parachute fig actually looked pretty darn good, but I already have a few Cap'ns.

EDIT: they are on the MU pegs, store has not merchandised the CA movie line yet.

Cable with Hope is the variant. Rumored to show at the early stages of that wave and after that is the standard just Cable fig.

I hope that is easy to find like the Unmasked Iron Patriot fig. I had no problem finding that one.

Got Marvel Universe Wave 13 - Cyclops today from Super Walmart in my area. I was there seconds before collector came browsing around looking at the Star Wars and MU figures. He picked up a Jean Grey and MU Comic Pack. I'm pretty sure he might be a member of this boards.

Also, GIANT grocery store had a PoC Wave 3 Snake Eyes at $7.99.

Columbia Target has restocked the Capt America figures, several complete wave 1 sets available. They also have several of the vehicles out as well such as Capt America's tank and car. Someone definitely hit up the deluxe figures yesterday after I was there as they now only have 2 left at 10 bucks a piece.

So much for that. Went up there around 3pm today and someone had already picked through everything, taking all the new suit Cap's. Kinda pissed me off since I wasted gas to get there for one figure, but oh well I guess. I did grab the Ultimate WWII version though.

I'm giving up on the Rockville area until everywhere else does the Summer reset. This Toys R us refuses to drop their prices to be competitive and never actually restocks anything. The last four times going there I've saw nothing new at all....

Just came from over there and saw the same thing.

Also, I'm about to file a complaint about the Super Walmart store in Laurel. I called and asked if they where carrying Joes again and after talking to several people and being on hold for 30 mins I was told they did. However when I asked the lady if they could just tell me what was on the package she hung up the phone on me. I drove from Tyson's Corner, VA to Laurel, MD to only find that by G.I.Joe on pegs they meant this:

As for me, I'm looking for the Gigantic Battles Savage Frost Giant with Loki. Does anyone have one they would consider selling/trading, or possibly know any Walmart's that have any? I was hospitalized when they hit my area and missed them, so any pointers or help would definitely be appreciated.
