Doc is mostly a Duke body but with a new head and new lower legs. The charm in using this combination of parts is that the original Doc had reused Duke arms as well. This figure resembles the original Doc wonderfully. Hasbro could have cheaped out and used Cobra commander legs or something for Doc but they gave us all new ones. The head sculpt looks great too, it reminds me of a younger version of the original. I never quite knew what those things on the side of Doc's helmet were but now they are back and this time they're painted to resemble medicine bottles. Doc's Stretcher is a new sculpt that looks almost exactly like the original, same with his large Flare Gun but now he's also equipped with a Medical Satchel and a small Flare Pistol. Doc also comes with a GI Joe Stand.
Doc is a great figure that I hope everyone gets. He'll work for most any dio and displays wonderfully.
Figure Rating: 10 out of 10
*The Accessories picture shows two stretchers, this just to show the underside and doesn't imply that Doc came with two stretchers*

Good review...this figure is spot on! Love having it and hope everyone else at the Tank gets a shot at one.

Good review. I can’t really comment on him too much as I have yet to receive him.
What I am wondering though, how much will he be worth after the movie? $1,000, or maybe a little less? I remember the value of all the older Transformers shot up during their movie, so I wonder how much Doc will be worth?
Not that I’d want to sell mine anyway.

10/10? even with the duke arms that seem to be an issue EVERY time they use them?

I just have one right now in a crushed display case. I'll open that one as soon as my second Doc arrives (if it ever does). He was always a favorite figure of mine and this new one does exactly what I wanted out of the 25th line. Give me a perfect update of the original figure.

Yeah, Typically when Duke arms are used, they don't look like how they should on that figure. IE: Breaker having sleeves rolled up past the elbow originally or Greenshirts having unrolled sleeves. (That's my biggest problem with them) In this case though, the sleeves look exactly like the originals did so I have less of an issue with them. Also the paint on the wrists was thinner so they didn't get stuck or anything.

So it is a flare gun. I always thought it was some weird kind of mortar. I couldn't figure out why I needed my medic to provide indirect fire support, it seemed like he would be busy enough being a Doc.
Thanks for the great review. The pics are always top notch.

Actually it is a mortar but probably with a flare attachment. The weapon is modeled after what appears to be a WW2 Japanese mortar. The actual weapon was man-portable and had either a groove or wedge on the bottom of it. The mortar was designed to be placed in the ground and fired. American GI's called them Japanese Leg Mortars becuase from the look of them and design it looked like you could fire them by positioning them on your upper leg. Only probelem with that was the the concussion was enough to snap their leg bone and a few unlucky Soldiers and Marines had that happen to them. I have to give credit to this info to my Grandfather. He's 92 and still kicking strong. He was a Lt. Col in the Army on Guadalcanal and he told me about this weapon. He was an Ordnance Officer and helped dispose of enemy weapons like that one. Still, it's a cool looking accessory for Doc to be toting around.

What are the things on the sides of his helmet? It looks like he's wearing one of those stupid beer hats or whatever those things are.

another great review, but I'd go with a 8.5 out of 10. Why?
1. -0.5 points for the Duke arms
2. -0.5 for saying "G.I. Joe Doc" on the stand and filecard instead of just "Doc"
3. -0.5 for the fact it is very difficult to have the strap of the mortar/flare stay on Doc's shoulder when posing or playing with the figure

All discussion aside of functionality of the "Duke Arms," I think Doc looks quite good. Doc doesn't have to be muscular to do his job. I like the figure and can't wait until mine comes in the mail. Just hope Hasbro doesn't pull a bone-head move and re-release him on the shelves. Then that will leave a lot of us wondering why we broke into our MIB Comic Packs to send away for him....

I sent my form in shortly before the deadline, so I hope I'll get one. Going by the pictures, I think he looks good! I remember getting my original '83 figure as a mailaway in a 12-figure pack with display case from some sort of GI Joe magazine.

I heard a looong time ago that those things on his helmet, at least on the old school version, were extra flares. Pill bottles make more sense.

Of my more favorite Joes, this is one of the last 25th ones I have yet to open... Mainly because I've only got one and he's staying on the card.
I sent off for a second Doc the DAY before last call, but I made sure it was postmarked. It won't be the end of the world, but I would like a second Doc as an opener.
Shogi, is his forehead like that on all of them? With the black splotches? Or is that where the brown flesh tone as been scraped off due to the helmet?
I actually think the painted heads end up looking better, but only so long as the paint doesn't get scratched off...
10/10 huh? I was wondering if that rating ever was given out. haha. He is a damn good looking figure, even with Duke arms.

I hope not, I think the arms are great!
Is that sarcasm? What's so great about the lack of elbow movement, or the unsightly cut wrists that could have been hidden at the cuff?
I could understand if you were okay with them, but calling them "great" is a bit of a stretch. I would love it if they upgraded him.

thanks for adding it...they did a pretty good job on Doc i must say...even went the distance and made new lower legs for him instead of being typically lazy and just using CC's or Flash's lower legs...he is def one of my top five...

That's just on my forehead, probably due to the helmet
I'm not a fan of painted heads, but it's not a deal breaker
10/10 get out there sometimes, typically only when it looks like there was something extra out of left field that actually makes the figure better

I see this thing being worth a good deal in the future. ESPECIALLY if the movie does well.
