What characters would you like to see die or die again in the new comic book:

Doc
Duke
Flint
and who else?

A bunch of the obscure 87-94 characters if it prevents them from being used poorly in lame fan fictions!

Seriously, I dunno, I'd rather see jerks get killed if it actually presents something too the story rather than "Finally that goddamn Short Fuse got killed, i sure hate him"

I'm not a fan of killing people for the sake of killing. Every character is somebody's favorite, and if they have to die they should die in a significant way. Except Snake Eyes, I'd laugh so hard if some random blue shirt capped him while he wasn't looking.

I agree with Headman. Every character, joe or cobra has it's fan base and why kill just for the sake of killing?
I can give you my list of least liked characters and someone would be totally against it because it's one of their favorites.
With that said, I think if IDW decides to kill off some characters, they shouldn't kill off any of the others who were already killed off. It would be too much of a repeat I think.
I don't like Cobra-La, BF2000, Crystal Ball or the Ice Cream soldiers. But someone else does, so I dunno.
If there's a major consensus against someone or a team, instead of killing them off, why not just leave them out of the comic to begin with?
Seriously, if say, 97% of the fan base says 'No Cobra-La' or 'No Raptor' why include them in the comic if you already know you're going to off them? The fans who hate them will bitch that the character was in the comic. Then after the death, the fans who like them will bitch that the character was killed.
And already at that point you will have several people with something to dislike about the comic.
I say kill any nameless greenshirts or cobra troopers. As for the main cast of heros and villains, wounded, shot, stabbed, sure. But don't kill off anyone.

I would love to see the original Joes get killed in issue 11 of the new book (xcept SE, Scarlett, Hawk) and then get filled in with the new guys (Flint, BeachHead, etc.) The team should max out at about 15 to 20 guys and the only way new members are brought on-board is if an "opening" comes up by way of.... well. Anyways, never ever ever gonna happen but I wouldn't mind a whole "unpredicatability" in the lives of our Joes where it could be ANYBODY's turn to go at any time.

i would say duke but hasbro would just make a "duke in coffin" figure and then repaint him over and over again.

At the end of the DD run I really, REALLY wanted to see Cobra Commander dead.

Hawk standing (... ok, um... sitting?) over him with a smoking gun, saying:

"Now it's over you sick bastard!"

And that's what they planned on doing... or something similar... but Hasbro told them 'NO!'

That's why I don't count on the new book to be free of their influence.

To keep with a moderate "realism" some folks need to bite it IMO. As long as CC stays kicking, anyone should be fair game. No cobra without him. Even though I have a feeling this reboot will wuss out a bit, it would be neat to throw some shockers out there. As for those with a fanbase, they can always wait til the next reboot to get their faves back LOL.

Killing characters for the sake of killing is a hack move to begin with. If an author can't generate drama without wiping out characters left and right they're obviously not talented enough for the job. People like that one trick pony JK Rowling who's imagination stretches only as far as her ability to steal use character deaths as a crutch, and eventually people get sick of it. Sure people can die, but it should be rare (For known characters) and there should be a good reason for it.

G.I. Joe is a military-themed creation. Using this reasoning, characters should die. In real life combat situations, it isn't the weakest or most disliked "characters" that die. Anyone can be hit by a bullet, or blown up in a building.... that being said, if anyone dies, I would like for it to be a shock - completely unexpected.

I wouldn't want to see any characters that are created for obvious cannon fodder. Same goes for creating a character with a cloud of "oh-he's-gonna-bite-it" hanging over him.

As much as Snake-Eyes is a sweet freakin character, I wouldn't mind seeing him being put out of commission once in a while... but only to return and kick some ass again, of course.

Duke. I never liked Duke. I'm a fan of Flint. Duke needs to fall off a cliff without his jetpack.

People like Raptor, Short Fuse, Sneak Peek, Zap, etc can all get offed. Certain characters should be offed in grandiose ways, such as Duke (I see a trend), Lowlight, Covergirl, Mindbender and others.
