A friend working for the vehicle manufacturer acknowledged my suspicion that the vehicle referred as the “TIGER Truck” seen on the set of GI Joe: Retaliation ( https://twitter.com/#!/TheRock/status/131550105634480129/photo/1/large) is actually the Tiger Light Protected Vehicle. A mine protected light all terrain vehicle based on a Dodge RAM platform.
Based on a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) Dodge RAM 5500 platform, the Tiger utilizes standard Dodge maintenance and service. The Tiger incorporates a powerful Cummins 350 HP diesel engine, a highly protected armored capsule, large military standard tires, and a 127-inch wheel base, offering exceptional mobility. Its advanced suspension ensures a comfortable ride for the crew.
Unlike the MRAP vehicles specially built by Cinema Vehicles for ROC ( http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/3978/gijoebuilds.jpg), this vehicle received minor internal and external modifications, still maintaining the original vehicle form. Sadly, I guess the Tiger will share the same fate as “unknown military vehicle no. 24 blown to bits on the first 15 minutes of the movie and doesn’t get a toy”…
