But I'll try to spell it out for you. The acting was cheesy, their lines are terrible, and the movie sucked in general.
Oh yeah, and the special effects were horrible.

Even Robot jox was more watchable.

um ok. i thought the movie was great. it was a fun Saturday night popcorn movie. Im not looking for academy award winning acting on a movie about alien robots that invade earth and duke it out. Also not looking for characters with a lot of depth. As for the special affects, i thought they were top notch. What more were people expecting from this?

I agree that the special effects were great but the acting was terrible. More often than not the special effects were drowned out by the very poor acting. Kind of hard to get into a movie and enjoy it when the actors suck a**.

i guess if you go into an alien invasion shootem up sci fi/comedy flick looking for great character depth, and top notch acting than i can see where fans would be let down

Ouch dude, that's a little rough. I personally love the transformers movie, although it's not the best thing I've ever seen. The only thing I've got to disagree with you on is the special effects. For CG that is really good, plus it's animated well. I can't see any other way this movie could have been done without the amount of CG they used. I have to agree with you on the videos. The first one's really funny and same is the second, but the third one just made me cringe. It's like all the parts of the movie that made me slightly displeased all came together in one shot.

They could use computers to make the movement more steady, and minimize the green screen effect, but to generate a whole damn robot just looks phony

So let me get this straight.... you have seen his movies, I presume all of them since you said you did. My question is why? I mean if the first one sucked and you gave him a second chance and that film sucked as well, why would you see the other 7 films? Geez he has produced over 9 films that have been released and you keep going back. I don't know if he sucks but he sure suckered you into seeing his work!

I've been trying to blank Transformers out of my head ever since. Only now that some time has passed can I view the film as unintentionally funny.

that's a very specious reduction. a movie can be those things, and be them poorly. you seem to want to infer that if a movie isn't supposed to be dramatic fare, it can't be bad at what it is supposed to be. that clearly isn't the case, or else there wouldn't be bad, non-dramatic movies.

All I am saying is that it is wrong to use such a horrible tragedy like the Holocaust to make a point. It is rhetoric like that - that comes across as being anti-semitism. Is this a fact, no. Just my opinion and it does insult what my people have gone through. I have family who lost love ones in the Holocaust and to this day they suffer and will never forget the horrible things that happened there. But you are an adult and you are going to do whatever you want and if it makes you feel more like a man to throw stuff like that around, good for you. I'll drop this and not side-line the thread. I just thought it needed to be said.

His work is really big in pop culture right now. It's kinda hard not to see it.

Kinda like the fact that I don't care about Justin Timberlake, but still I hear his songs even if I don't want too.
I have also never chosen to put the song "I can see clearly now the rain is gone" on My record player. Yet I know every God damn word of that awful song bakward, and forward. It's that type of thing.

Stand alone, without connecting it to the toys/comics/cartoon of our youth, it was a good movie to introduce the franchise.
