I tried to pick up the Tamiya spray paint that a Tanker used to convert his RHINO at the Hobby Store in Kohl's Plaza but they were all out and I would have had to order it. I figured I might as well order it directly from Tamiya if I was going to do that.

Try ebay for the paint too. I've picked up some good model paint on ebay a bit cheaper than some of the online hobby stores.

I am on the fence about the green neoviper. He has a different head than what is on the card from what I've seen online and I hate that helmet.

Never thought to look on ebay. I will give it a shot since I haven't ordered it yet.

As for the Nano-Viper, IMHO there wasn't anything that screamed out to me as a got-to-have-it item. It just seemed like a lot of accessories that I have seen elsewhere splashed with that neonish green color.

All I ever found in the Rochester area as far as Marshalls goes were 4 of the comic packs. I grabbed the GH/CC, MF/BH, D6/RnR and HM/SE packs for 6.99 each. A while back (like last November) I was able to grab both DVD sets 3 and 4. But nothing at any of the TJ Maxx stores and very little at the Marshalls stores.

The CT Show was a lot of fun. Got rid of a lot of stuff and snagged up some things I needed to finish kitbashing figures. Wasn't a lot of vintage 12" GIJOE Stuff there, but some newer stuff. It was definately a 3 3/4" show. Vintage 3 3/4" right on up to ROC. There was just a ton of stuff to be had. Can't wait for the next one which I believe will be in the fall (Oct-ish)!

KMart has a selection of ROC figures in a temporary action figure display unit FAR AWAY FROM THE REGULAR SHELF. The aisle unit is about 4 feet tall, made of cardboard, and has separate cardboard dividers for other brands, including Star Wars. They have a great selection, but are a bit overpriced. This is at NYC's Astor Place Kmart near the clearance and hardware corner.

Saturday is probably the best day. Open to general public. I did talk to the hotel last night, the $139 hotel rate is booked. I think the entire hotel is booked. There are others around though I think if one was interested in staying over night.

I just google map'd it and it says its just shy of 3 hours from Albany. Honestly, if your looking to make time, you could probably do this in about 2 hours. Especially the way traffic can move sometimes. Its basically I90 most of the way...its an easy trip.

The fact that its been more than a decade since the big show has been this close, I can't pass up going this year even though its not really the best timing for me. Its going to be a blast. I'm sure there are threads on here about the Con in other sections and there are probably folks looking to share rooms to save $$$. I know there are 2 guys sleeping on the floor in my room that weekend.

Its not too late either to get your registration for the Con. Its pricey at $325, but you figure it gets you a boxed set of figures and usually some sort of freebie. Last year was a silver Fang Copter. Its always a suprise. There is the Convention dinner on Saturday night which is a lot of fun to break bread with your buds. You get to hear and talk to Club staff as well as Hasbro reps who are actually the guys who work on the product line. You get to hear from folks who worked on the line in the 80s and even the 60's and 70's which is kinda cool. Also you get full access to the Dealer room all weekend starting friday before the general public is aloud it so you get first dibs on stuff in the dealer room. Also the Club usually has some nice deals at their store there and the usually have everything thats available on their online store there, and sometimes with really good deals. It also puts you in a drawing to with a free trip to next years JoeCon. Its just a really good time, and I think you really have to go to one to really appreciate it. And believe me, you'll want to go every year. If your worried about the cost of the convention set, which I totally understand. You can sell it all or piece meal it out on ebay to make your money back from the set. Thats what I usually do. I usually only want 1 or 2 figures from the set. The rest goes on ebay to help me recoup my cost of going to the Con.

I'm free most weekends but I'm a late riser. Always up for a coffee or beer. We should all really get together sometime (besides I need to get rid of all this stuff) and JoeCon would be a great time for us to do that (hint hint) and the cool part about that is your there for the weekend so we can have a beer or two (or 3 or 4) and not have to drive.

I know the Club is no longer accepting checks for registration packages, and I know they are gone on April 22nd or 23rd, as the Club staff will be enroute to RI. Also, if a bunch of you got together and chipped in, got a Registerd package and some Aides packages attached you could split the cost of going and split the boxed set up. Just a thought.

I have been looking at the Iron Man stuff in the stores, and while it looks cool I just can't bring myself to buy any. Walmart in Scotia had one of those goofy Neo Ninja figures and is otherwise picked over. Wish we'd see the return of the 25th...hunting was fun then.

It's odd because I really have always liked winter / snow vehicles. I think what really bothered me is the notion that (IMHO) it didn't look like you could fit two Joes in the cockpit. I forgot the reviewer / post picture that I saw and it had me instantly thinking about how the 25th anniversary HISS Tank driver doesn't sit well in a HISS because of the thigh holster.

As do I. Don't get me wrong; great vehicle. I do have some issues with it. Obviously the color. It should definately be black. The stickers - color and size - don't really stand out given the color of the vehicle and the stickers themselves. It is almost as if they are too light or not a deep enough red. Also, given the sizes where they want you to apply them at times makes no sense what-so-ever. I don't know about other owners, but getting the machine gun bullet feed to stay in place is a pain too.

the ammo belt does not stay in well. The cables underneath don't like to stay in well either. It springs to attack position way to easily. Once I find a 2nd on I think I'm gunna be painting it black.

I do have a case of plastic crack withdrawl. I do need some Alley Viper goodness. And Cobra Commander would be nice. The rest of the wave looks like garbage. Duke doesn't look terrible. I just wanted to secure myself a couple Alley Vipers and a Cobra Commander. I honestly don't know what I'm going to do with the other 3 cases. Maybe I'll take 'em back to walmart since their $10 a piece. lol!

I definately feel the need for "the hunt" again. I like most of the figures in the line. Duke ... I just don't like the headband honestly. Storm Shadow ... eh.. not that bad. Firefly... pretty neat. I really like the design of most of them.

I believe you will be right. The TRU sale will be over by the time these hit.

It will be nice to see something new and non movie related for a change. I like this idea of Pursuit of Cobra. New version of older weapons (HISS:) and figures we know changed up a bit (Alley Viper) and figures kinda like the movie but different enough to not be from it totally (Cobra Commander). The stuff seems very apocalyptic which typically isn't my style, but I'm liking this.

I'm thinking pre-order is the way to go from here on in. That way I can be assured I'll get what I want, and if I find extra in my leisure, all the better. The stuff I don't want from pre-orders can just be trade fodder or make its way on ebay after a spell.

SDCC Slaughters are on my list next then I can relax a bit.

Any of you New Yorkers know of a good comic shop in Manhattan that I could check out. I'll be there over the Labor Day weekend, and I will be staying in Manhattan doing the tourist thing. Besides going to the TRU and FAO Schwartz with my daughter, I was wondering if there any good comic shops that I could find anime, toys, and other such things? Is there any good Japanese bookstores in the immeadiate area as well? Once last thing, where's the best pizza place in Manhattan? Thanks in advance and happy hunting for those POC figures. :)

i say the one on 14th st. has a ton of stuff. forbidden planet. the prices could be a little cheaper, kinda like online prices i guess. jim hanley universe by the empire state building is not bad either. they also have joes etc but at a huge markup. image anime closer to the madison square garden is good for japanese stuff.

Also snagged GIJOE The Movie (1986) at Walmart (scotia) for $12. Sweet Joe day!

Got 2 PoC Alley Vipers today in the mail from ebay (CHINA) and gotta say they are very cool! I'll be looking to get a few extra when they hit. I have the orange version from the Cobra pack but I do like this deco. The extra kibble is rather nice as well. (Helmet, goggles and such).

As I stated in the POC at Target thread that Newburgh Target completed their toy resets the other day and today they unpacked all the POC they had.They had Singles,Alphas and Mechs in stock there was already someone there before I got there all the Alley Vipers and Snow Job was gone did get a Cobra Commander and a couple figs left behinds Doom Cycle,Ghost Hawk,both Mechs,Storm Shadow,Snake Eyes,Duke,Beach Head.
Middletown Target all 75% off toys got completely wiped out but I found and bought Star Wars Y Bomber for $16.24 They haven't done the reset yet and not unpacked their POC merchandise.
Middletown TRU has about 12 each of the POC Quick Kick and Spirit at BOGO 50%
Poughkeepsie Target 75% off toys wiped out also but I picked up a APV Steel Crusher Cobra Gunship that was hidden for $6.22 each!Reset not done also and no POC brought out yet.

Atlantic Terminal had pegs marked for single fig Joes (6.99) that were filled with generic army figs.
