gear placement made it diff to get the grenades in about the right spot to resemble classic 86 viper and how in the hell does this guys molle gear attach? the necessary clips arent there, theres no male clips to insert into the femal clips to join the damn thing in the back? what they couldnt have spent a few more dollars on more velcro like in the front? and love this figure as i do, wtf is up w this back pack? and sport bottles for a hydration system? really cobra doesnt issue camel backs? was a little let down, all in all i give this figure a 7.5, i ordered two, likely im selling the other.

61 views and no input, think thats a tank record, i found my own answer here http://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87536&page=117 apparently they didnt give us the crossbody straps in the back and we are expected to do a micro weave on the molle, yeeeeah just what i wanted to do cause this shit isnt bad enough in 1:1

yeah I found the link previously as well. I would have liked if it connected and but it was fine once i understood how it worked.

I was able to get all the buckles hidden but i think its time for Sideshow to start including instructions for 'optional' setup. I almost always do some personal variations but suggestions from SSC would be nice.

I think the water bottle backpack thing shouldnt really apply with this figure and they should have added the camel pack or something as it seems more practical with this figure.

Overall I really like the figure and give it an 9. Even though it was a pain putting in those buckles and what not it displays great.

Although it was a pain in the ass to weave with a pair of tweezers, the Molle system is super-realistic on the Viper. Spend the time to futz with him until you set him up to your specs. That's why I love the SSC stuff...the devil in the details.

Yeah, the water bottles were kinda unnecessary...would have preferred more grenades and clips. A cobra variation of a Camelback would have been cool too.

Man, you need to have patience when dealing with these 1:6th; and if you don't, well... then its back to "Snap On" accessories for you!

Love the "tanker" portrait the Viper EX comes with. I thought the black balaclava from either the Sniper or Firefly would look cool as well.

Check out this custom off of SideshowFreaks:

Davestro, that pic is sick!

isn't there a thread that actually shows pics with someone using tweezers to weave the Molle???

as much as I like the viper I am so tempted to get him a pair of trooper boots and knee pads or even try Hawk's boots.

The only drawback is I would never use the vipers boots on anything else.

Just got mine, and this is my first sideshow figure. Detail is exeptional. However, the neck is a bit high with the helmet, does anyone know how to fix it?

MOLLE stuff doesn't attach the same way as ALICE stuff does. You have to thread the MOLLE straps through the horizontal ones on the vest. The female clips on the chest rig are there because on the SOTech Hellcat Mk.II, you can either wear it like a cummerbund on the chest rig, or there's shoulder straps that have male connectors. In the case of the Viper, it's worn over like a cummerbund, hence the empty female clips.
