Actually they were Cobra. Found the 1st Cobra box set at Eide's in Pittsburgh for only $20. I was also looking at the 3 original G1 Transformers Insecticons there for $20 each. As I was standing there contemplating purchasing these items the guy behind the counter said if I buy the Insecticons he would give me the Joes for FREE!! Needless to say I took him up on the offer.

After opening them I already want to get more. However, my wife doesn't want me to start collecting another toy line in addition to Transformers and Legos. I'll just have to be choosy about what I buy and avoid the temptation to get them all.

At first I thought I might sell the Cobra soldier from the set, but now I want to build a small Cobra army. I'll still get a few random Joes like Snake Eyes & Timber, but I've always been a Cobra sympathizer since they were cooler (to me) than GI Joe.

Yeah, I went from "I'll get a few" to "I want a small army" as well.

What's Eide's? What kind of store is it?

BTW, welcome aboard. We don't have an initiation per se, but the newest members always have to change the bogie wheels. :D

Eide's is a pretty large comic shop in Pittsburgh. They have a pretty large section of toys as well. I've found some nice deals on Legends there, nothing like free Joe's, but good deals none the less. They also have a decent selection of loose toys too.

In addition to the comics and toys sold in the downstairs section, they also sell CDs & magazines (main floor), books & vinyl records (upstairs). I have a pretty big collection of records (over 500) that I add to every time I visit Eide's.
