Does anybody else think this is Storm Shadow from a scene in the 1986 Transformers Movie where Wreck-Gar is explaining that he speaks in a "TV" language? I mean it obviously makes sense that it could be him as G.I. Joe & Transformers were both produced by Hasbro & Sunbow, but is it confirmed anywhere? It's pretty cool either way haha. Also interesting that he seems to have roughly the same design as the 30th/Renegades Storm Shadow.

I remember seeing that and thinking the same thing! Good find, now if only I could find my right sock.

Sure why not LOL.

I mean because of the character Hector Ramerez, GI Joe, Transformers, My little Pony and Jem all exist in the same universe LOL (yes he made appearences in all of those).

if he was supposed to be Sotrm Shadow he would have looked like Storm Shadow back in '86, the v.1 version. as it is, that is just a generic white ninja that doesn't look like Storm Shadow.

whether Hasbro designed a similar looking Storm Shadow 25 years later really has no bearing on whether that would make that animation Storm Shadow.

I've not heard of him either, but I just learned that he is apparently not the white ninja seen in the Transformers '86 movie as pictured above haha.

I think it's a rather obvious homage to Storm Shadow haha and I never said that the 30th Storm Shadow had any "bearing" on the animation.

Well you are all wrong. Stormy first appears as he is in his 30th Anniversary figure in Issue 21, when he takes Scarlet to the Silent Castle. It is not until he is going to check on her that he is wearing his now all infamous sleeveless Gi.

Haha

I LOVED that scene

That and they made the Dreadnoks legitimate threats in those first few episodes.

That and SS and Spirit had a bigger feud going on than him and SE

Wait, what?

Go read Issue 21 again. When Stormy delivers Scarlet to CC, he is wearing a sleeved Gi. It doesn't even have the Cobra emblem on the left part of the chest.

Probably a shout out to GI Joe at least.

It was pretty common to put in references to other shows. On GI Joe Sci-Fi was watching a transformer episone.

& A red Cobra Commander appeared on Jem.

I definitely think it's a nod to Joe. He's closer to his #21 appearance in those frames, but animation varied in the show and in the commercials for the comics, so I see no reason why he'd have to be drawn exactly as he was in the cartoon series to have it be a fun little easter egg.

exactly! also, the transformers '86 movie was set in the year 2005 so it could have been a future look for him, much like cobra commander's different look in season 3 of transformers.

well the 84 storm shadow had that look and the movie came out in 86 so i can see it being him.
