character handbook?

sorry if this is a stupid question but is there a book out there strictly devoted to character bios and info? like with tf's i have both volumes of the idw more than meets the eye books and love those. it would be cool to have one for the joes too. also being a total noob when it comes to the joe comic world, is that joe vs tf's series worth getting? is the whole series available in one tpb? again, sorry if these questions are retarded but any help would be appreciated. thx.
