It is. Not hard to believe a toy company would want to get as much product on the shelves for Christmas. Exciting isn't it!?

Hasbro could care less if their product gets on the shelves or not. All Hasbro cares about is retailers ordering from them. That's how they make their money and stores make money from us (collectors).

I hope that Kokomo gets them in this week or next. Since I'm moving, I want to get then before we skip town.

...but if it doesn't sell at retailers, stores don't order any more from Hasbro. Hasbro has a larger interest in producing figures that sell and distributing them in ways to encourage this. They incur steep costs in development and manufacturing of GI Joe and if retailers don't order more than one shipment per wave, they're likely to lose money on the line. I'm not one of the 'sky is falling' doomsayers pronouncing the GI Joe 3 3/4 line dead every five minutes, but the brand has suffered greatly since its 25th Anniversary success. ROC very nearly did it in, and that was because the toys did NOT sell at retail.
