essential titles for 3DS?

i've always been a Nintendo fan boy so much so that i've even skipped a 360 and ps3 to stay loyal to my Wii, now with christmas coming i'll be getting a 3DS (already have 2 previous versions of the DS) does anybody have any games that they recommend for the 3DS?

Well, that is part of the reason Nintendo couldn't sell 3DS's - there really aren't any essential games. It was a horrible launch on the big "N's" part. I assume you have the essential DS games like the Castlevania games and New Super Mario Bro - if not get those. For the 3DS the only games you really need are the new Super Mario 3D and the redone Zelda Ocarina of Time. I hear the Street Fighter and Star Fighter games are ok but not the essential games that they were supposed to be.

Kid Icarus which I think was supposed to be a launch title has been pushed back to 2012. Not sure what is up there, but it looks amazing. There is a Metal Gear game that looks good that seems to have been pushed back - b/c I could've sworn it was supposed to be out by now. There is also a sequel coming to Lugi's Mansion that I think is a 3DS game, but it might be Wii.

Edit: my daughter loves hers, but often is playing with the built in mini games.
