Wait, does Mercer have ear rings?

And Spirit's missing some paint apps on the laces of his elbow pads. Really stands out on the flesh colored forearms.

"Barbeque Kelly" looks really good though. So does Low-Light.

They can't ship soon enough.

"So why the lower score? Because they all have the traditional ball hips, without any sort of knee or thigh cut. The hips themselves are good (and they use the metal posts, making them virtually indestructible), but without any sort of cut on the upper leg, the poses are greatly restricted. This has always bugged me, and it looks like it will continue to do so."

Am I alone in my gratitude that Joes don't have a thigh-cut? I hate thigh cuts. Unless you can have a holster strap or something to obscure the cut, the added articulation doesn't adequately compensate for the ugliness of the cut.

I agree, the thigh pivot needs to be above the thigh in the hip or not at all. This new MU articulation standard in the thigh is awkward looking.

I agree.
Just look at the captain America figures *blech*

"the poses are greatly restricted"...what?
The only pose you might not achieve is a Joe with crossed legs. I can live with that.
The articulation that Iron Man figures have (and what they love at Cpt Action) sucks. I often find myself struggling to get the exact posing i want, mostly because you have to make a double play with the horizontal cut, and the vertical ring joint. Bah!

Yeah, the Iron Man 2 articulation can be a huge pain in the butt, especially since the thigh-swivel often doesn't want to swivel and trying to move it just moves the rest of the hip joint instead.

Trying to get some of those figures just to stand up straight with their hips oriented properly is a freaking chore. And yes, the "below the hip" cut/mid-thigh swivel is usually ugly.

I'm not a fan of this Spirit figure and was disappointed that it was reused in this set. Why is the Native American the only one to go into battle without a shirt on...? Even the square jawed Wave 7 figure from the 25th anniversary assortment was better than this stereotype-perpetuating disaster.

Falser words were never spoken... err, typed.

I don't care for this repaint of the PoC Spirit, but the sculpt is just as superior to the Anniversary sculpt as MOTUC sculpts are superior to vintage MOTU sculpts.

I can't believe you see this new Spirit as a stereotype while championing the Anniversary version.

Would the POC head work on the 25th sculpt body for Spirit? Or would it look completely out of whack?

Definitely different skin tones.

Exactly.
I had the same issue with Gambit from Wolverine movie. What's worst, the details are painted or sculped in a way that the legs can't bend forward or backwards, but outwards.
Also, if a Joe hip-leg gets a bit loose you can always open it up, and fix it easily.
If a IM styled leg is loose or breaks, you're screwed.

Spirit was one of the original Marauders, so it makes sense he's here.

I thought the native american went into battle half naked and wearing warpaint. I can't see why one of Spirit's versions couldn't be somewhat reminscent of that. *shrug*
I don't see anything offensive in this figure, if anything, he's the most original and cool looking of the bunch.

Let's not start again another fever-wave of "oh, Tunnel Rat is an offensive stereotype" styled threads 9_9

Yeah, it's kind of stupid to give Joes three stars on articulation when Crawford constantly gives DCUC and He Man figures four stars, and the majority of those figures can't even sit down or put their arms at their sides, both, in my opinion, are much more annoying.

They used the wrong torso for Falcon, its TOO little. Its the Dusty/pit commando torso, with a head thats too big.

This is a great set, the only let down is Spirit, his outfit is awful, couldnt they have used a short sleeve shirt outfit with the legs he has. Even the torso and arms of Poc Desert Duke with the Res SE legs, i would have prefered him on a shirt.

Yeah, overall this set is good, but I'm more interested in getting it just for Lt. Falcon's head, Spirit, Low-Light, and Taurus (who I think would make a great Modern Thundercats Panthro..). It's almost there, but not quite. They need to get better at kit bashing, lol.
