View Full Version : Cancelled DTC Cobra HISS TANK & Night Creeper

For some reason Hasbro decided to cancel this outstanding repaint of the DTC Cobra Hiss Tank back when the line was active. This Hiss would be a really good option for a 25th vehicle.

Man, that sucks. I'd really like to know why they cancelled it. But I agree with you, great option for 25th Anni.

I saw this on another website and they wanted 250.00 I think for it, since it was never released. It would have been cool to have another hiss tank but with so much talk about DTC surviving and also "another repaint" I think thwy shevled the idea. As for the Sting Raider, I noticed that they came out with the same vehicle for the 2.5 line. I think that is their last vehicle of this line and IMO this line was a waste since it took up so much space. Hopefully they will put out some vehicles for the 25th anniversary line (sooner or later).

Yeah! I remember that! Wasn't it sunnyshinetoys or something? Either way, 250 was a bit steep seeing as how one could make this vehicle from a plain ole black DTC hiss for like $15

Yeah, I'm real hopeful to see vehicles in this line. I guess we'll have to see how strong sales are against the 5 packs....or at least until the 'Con.
All in all, although the Red HISS is super bad @ss, I'd much rather see a "new" vehicle for the 25th....like a HISS II :D

This would be a good vehicle to use with the 25 Anv. line and so would a lot of other vehicles from the 2.5" line. In fact since most of those vehicles were originally intended to be made for 3.75" scale we may just see them released to supplement these new sculpt line of figures.
I certainly would love to add 3.75" scale versions of the Firebat and Street Razor to my COBRA arsenal. Maybe even a re-colored VAMP as a new COBRA Stinger.
The only changes I'd like made to this version of the H.I.S.S. V is that the colors be inverted (black body paint with red camo stripes) and a pair of cannons to be included to provided an alterior weapons choice to the turret mounted missile pods.

It is a cool vehilce...but If we are talking repaints...I'd like to see it in Python colors.

One notable change was the inclusion of a back hatch.
From what I've been told, this would have been our wave 4 vehicle, had the line continued as planned

this new Hiss was awesome, I loved the black one as it was the perfect update to the original
the hiss II though still remains my favorite mold , just wish they would have done it in the black to make it more classic

If this had been made, I could have seen myself buying it for the sole purpose of replacing all that awful Green/gold parts on the first DTC HISS. Course that could have been Hasbro's plan from the start.

I wish they would have released that H.I.S.S. They only things I don't like are the black strips and the Night Creeper. It doesn't appear that they even repainted him. I never liked the idea of the Night Creeper as a H.I.S.S. driver, maybe a repaint of Saw-Viper or Range-Viper. Anyway it should have been released in wave 3 at least.

I agree that a black H.I.S.S. II would make a great repaint. I always liked that mold and have been wanting a black version for awhile now.

I do agree with the upgraded color of some of the pieces, but imo there are already too many Crimson vehicles out there for an elite group.
I second a re-release of Hiss II in better colors.

The HISS II was always the most solid HISS released IMO. I would give anything to see it re-released in an all black colorscheme.
I know the DTC HISS tried to model itself after a classic, but unfortunately fell short due to the lack of room in the rear compartment, thanks to the shaft of the Turret (uhuhuhhhuh, I said shaft).
The HISS II was such a great vehicle. Room to hold 7 figures, great weaponry, and all around great look...
Dang, I'm going to go hit eBay and see if I can find one for cheap :D

That's what I would have used it for. I'd have added it to my Python Patrol for sure.

Gosh...I'm so tempted to get a HISS and try that Python Paintcoat formula that was posted a few days/weeks ago. That would be so friggin' wicked!

I would like to see a new HISS but my dream version is the v1 but bigger. The cockpit should hold 2 and the back should open for troop transport. Room for 4 to sit and 2 or 3 standing. And the turret should be like v1 but it needs side guns like v2. It should be black with a red window and the classic 788 on the side

Yeah something like that. Not so boxy though. That is a cool custom though
I think its a nice update of the older Crimson HISS, however the mold and design is good but the armament sucks balls. Atleast the old one had twin 40mm grenade launchers.
Hasbro seems to slow or severely lazy these days.
