Stargate Atlantis cancelled!!!!

Okay, so I know people not into the show won't care, but I'm pretty peeved right now. The current series (season 5) will end on a cliffhanger which will be resolved with a tv movie. Subsequent films will be made but to me it won't be the same (Two films a year instead of twenty episodes? Naah!).

SGA was just about the last 'new' show on my 'must watch' list and while I pretty much knew it would never run to ten years like SG-1, I thought seven or eight would be feasible.

i loved it in the first 3seaons but after that it got lame. it sucks when they replace ppl on the show that i liked. so i stopped watching it.

There's a new show planned called STARGATE UNIVERSE and they're still going ahead with it.

I appreciate that SGA was going through a turbulant time (Weir left, Carter came in, Carter left, Woolsey came in, Ronan was going to leave etc.) but all shows tend to go through change. Season 4 got a lot of flak but for the most part I enjoyed it. Season 5 ratings are, apparently, up as well, yet it still gets canned.

eh...season 5 is kinda like not much to take in... no more replicators.... the wraith are like not much a threat. i guess it went downhill for me when they beat out the replicators.
but the series need to go to another direction. i don't think shafting it would be good.
i guess they want to make a good exit now before it gets worse.

This sucks. I love SGA (and SG1). So what is Stargate Universe supposed to be about? And how many movies will SGA do? Man, there is gonna much left to watch on Sci Fi anymore.

I read that SG Universe was about a ship exploring the galaxy (star trek) I didn't realize they were cancelling Atlantis though that sucks both BSG and Atlantis gone at the same time.

Not too sure I like the sound of Universe. I always enjoyed the fact that SG-1 and SGA featured present-day humans 'going out' to explore and then returning to the familiarity of a base. It helped remind us that they were just like us, not futuristic superheroes. I also liked that the military were presented in a positive light.
Universe sounds like there's going to be little Earth-based involvement and will be just another 'ship full of spacemen' type show.

I'd say the freakin' Sci-Fi channel are run by monkeys, but that's not fair to monkeys (because monkeys make everything better!).

They get rid of Weir because they want Sam "Nerdgirl Fantasy" Carter to attract more horney guys, and when she doesn't work out they get Holo-Doc Picardo? Not only that but they're spending far too much time on replicators and arcs rather than the nice, self-contained stories that made early to mid SG1 so easily accesible.

Did they have a changing of execs sometime in the last couple years?

Anytime a sci-fi franchise goes away it's sad news, even if I didn't watch the show. (it's like science fiction TV in general takes a hit anytime something gets canned) I just could never accept the character change from the StarGate movie to the TV series... (sort of like MASH in reverse:the movie seems out-of-place because I spent so many years watching Alan Alda)

There's more to women than how much sillicone they can hold in their chest without a backbrace, and not every one needs to be a "10". One of the biggest problems about living where I do is that the women (and everyone in general) is pretty damn uneducated. I'll settle for a 5-6 if I can talk to her about Poe, Dante, (or even Alan Moore!), instead of the meaningless drivel that passes for conversation where I am. -_-

They are gonna keep pushing Eureka after BSG is finally done, and then their slate is open for new projects.

I just cannot believe Flash Gordon is still around, I really felt like that is the poorest of the shows.

They should ressurect Firefly if their slots are gonna open up in the next year or so.

THAT would be great, and the cast would be down for it. if you track the cast of Firefly's interviews online, they want to do either a direct to vid sequel, or get the show on some network, sci-fi would be perfect for this.

Well then the patrons of that place are obviously more sophisticated than I am. As for me, well I tend not to like walking clichés so I'll have to make do with admiring 'plain', 'ordinary' women. I'm surprised that you even care what ladies a total stranger finds attractive.

Also sorry to hear you're 'glad' I'm missing out a show I like too. If I don't enjoy something, I just don't watch it. I certainly wouldn't begrudge a person whatever their favourite shows are or dance on their graves when they get cancelled, but then like I said, you're better than me in every way I guess.

SGA is the only show i watch though the new show Sanctuary sounds kind of interesting so we will have to see.
