true, and though on joedios where i mostly visit the cartoon doesnt get that much love, i think everyone would agree that any new joe cartoon will not have the lasting power of the original. so what if they add killing and realism to it, that wont stick with me and/or the kids like the first series did.

exactly.. even though there were some cheezy aspects to it.. The long lasting power it had shows how classic that series was.. I mean come on.. you got grown men quoting a cartoon 25 years later... thats something special.. & it had nothing to do with violence or realism.. I think more with good actors & classic lines... This pretty much goes for a lot of other cartoons of that era too... Now days cartoons are flatlined in the mind..

Totally agree, the actors gave those characters life and most of the voices stuck with me to this day. Especially when I read Joe comics and such. Plus times have changed and they dumbed down the writing for the kids which is sad. This is why Justice League/JLU was so great.
