Here's my entry for the "Where are they now?" category:

Outback, the Scout Leader.

"Check my crowsfeet!"

Outback got older over the years, found out the numerous heavy and dangerous missions were getting more difficult for him to cope with and decided it was time for a new generation of Joes to fight Cobra. After a deliberation with General Hawk he joined the Boy Scouts of America as a senior survival expert, ranked as Scout Leader. It's actually a undercover recruiting job: Outback still works for the Joes, but now visits boy scout groups all over the USA to look for possible new survival experts among the teenagers. He tries to find out if the army is a suitable place for them and makes a list of those who are talented enough and are willing to join the army. Together with Sgt. Slaughter they keep track of them in their army careers and in the end they select only the few best of them enter the G.I.Joe training camp.

This is my older version of Outback: grey hair with some white highlights, a tanned skin and even some crowsfeet.

Most impressive, one of the best paint jobs on a 3 3/4 figure I've ever seen.

That's him, Officer. That's the man that touched me in the woods when i was 13. And again when I was 19. And then again, for about a week straight in my mid-20's.

Seriously, that is BEAUTIFUL. Good idea, executed perfectly, and as true to the spirit of the "Where are they now" portion of the contest as anyone could possibly get. The paint job is flawless, and the finish is beautifully matte, more so than I have been able to get with anything I use. Bravo.

I think this one is a solid contender.

Great concept and executed extremely well.

Character choice, Parts choice, Paint apps...it's all Very well put together.

If I had to nitpick, I'd say the Shirt isn't quite right. BSA shirts are button down, and tend to have a lot of patches and such on the front pockets and sleeves. I can fully accept that you left that off for the sake of simplifying and streamlining the design...I still know exactly what he's supposed to be just by looking at him.

Thanks everyone!

Funny, I'm actually about to get me a can of Krylon Satin Finish to make one of my next customs look more like your finishes..... I like your finish too, the little shiny layer looks close to the original ARAH figures. But I don't know yet what I like best, full matt or satin finish.

No problem. Yeah, I know the shirt isn't quite right, but I just had to use that torso with the straps and the scarf. It immediately screamed "boy scout" to me.

Awesome parts use. I always thought Wild Bill v2 looked like a scoutmaster with that kerchief.
