Least fav 25th fig

Anyone have a LEAST favorite 25th figure?

I only own the two 5 packs plus Flint and single Snake Eyes. Of all I own, I seem to be least impressed with Duke. His head seems too small and his gun (while cool looking) doesnt seem to fit super well in his hands while he seems to far bent forward. I'm not thrilled with his bandolier either.

He does have one of my fav 25th features though, the holster with pistol.

Any negative reviews for following waves are appreciated.

I actually really dig Duke. He's got to be in my top 3 or 4, up there with V1 Snake Eyes, V1 Storm Shadow and Beach Head. But to answer your question, I despise Serpentor the most. The only thing I even remotely like about him is the broad sword. I also really dislike the V2 Storm Shadow. But, to be honest, I never liked those characters (I consider "Joe" Storm Shadow to be lame) or the old figures to begin with, so there might be an unfair bias built in there.

I love the 25th but...

Lady Jaye's head sculpt is kinda bad.

Serpentor's face and meh costume leave a lot to be desired.

The just changed heads on all the SE, SS and CC are kind of upsetting along with gloveless Flint.

Other than that...AWESOME!

Oddly enough I like V2 25th Stormy (I absolutely hate the original V2) But I do have to say that Serpentor takes the cake for lamest (and I actually like Serpy) The overall color is a little bland

lady jaye is just a horrific sculpt...and im not dropping even a measly $5 on another head-swap.

except for the "suicide slashes" on duke's wrists, i like him much better than the "vintage" duke.
and i never view "joe" stormshadow as a joe. thats an arctic mission stormshadow to me.

I think it was the ridiculous and HUGE eyes that make her look bad compared to Scarlett. Even then all the girls seem to have really big jaws.

The grenade launcher that came with Gung Ho looked like it would be cool, but both of mine fell apart immediately out of the package, as did Scarlett's cross bow. I think all of the figures are pretty cool, but Serpentor is my least favorite.

Although I haven't gotten her yet, Lady Jaye seems to be the most wacky. Her hat is really high on the head and hair sticks out weirdly. I actually like the comic pack Jaye better than what I've seen of this one.

I guess Zartan's eyes will need fixing whenever I see him also.

So far I've liked the looks of both Storm Shadows the most, except for the right hand, it takes a bit of skill to keep a sword in it.

The Air Trooper is the most fun of the troopers because you get two helmets, and it looks different than the other troops. I have been wondering if the jet pack is a repaint of the Starduster and Grand Slam con figures.

It would have to be a retool since the peg on the Con sets would have to fit into ARAH joes backs and the Air Trooper jump has a long skinny peg that's designed for the 25th figures

Actually, I'm not all that impressed with my Cobra 5 pack.

Destro. He can't hold anything in his left hand. That's lame. His side holster doesn't hold his pistol very well and his briefcase wont stay shut.

Cobra Commander: His left hand is a fist (Looks good as a display, but not for play.) and his face plate was scratched in the package.

Stormshadow: His swords were all bent and his hands will not hold them, they keep falling out.

Baroness: She's loose. (Good for a woman, but not good for a toy, haha.) Her backpack keeps falling off too.

Cobra Soldier: No complaints with him...

all they had to do was make his eyebrows a bit more "menacing" looking, like slant them downwards, and it would have been a success.

ps - a cowl, or "hood" behind his head like the '86 vintage figure would be perfect!

i love the destro figure, hes the main reason i dropped the $25 on that pack---great sculpt...BUT...guilty on all the above charges!

i had to put an Xacto to his left hand to get that briefcase in his hand--alot of Xacto at that......i had to put a small nail through the briefcase to keep it closed and his classic gun has to keep permanent residence in his right hand. the other gun is in a box with many other accessories that just werent working right...back packs, ammobelts, knives that interfered with waist movement.

Hmmmmm. My least fave figs are Satan (Red Ninja), the Airborne Trooper and both black Cobra Commander and Storm Shadow from the Cobra Legions 5-pack.

I'm going to have to go with Lady Jaye's head sculpt and Serpentor's face.........not diggin' either one....at the very least, Lady Jaye's hat should have been able to come off....and Serpentor shouldn't be looking like he just took one in his diaper crotch......

I must say Serpentors face ruins the whole figure. Lady Jay looks a little to "butch" and i hate how all the females seem to suffer from scoliosis. Other than that im really digging all the figs so far.

Do you mean because the neck is molded in a forward leaning position, or because the upper torso doesn't move back far enough? If it's the latter, you just have to force it a bit, the torso joints are pretty sticky just out of the package

Hey, you're right. That helps a bit. I think Baroness is the weakest figure, but I also dislike Serpentor's face and Cobra Commander's wee little head.

I have to go with the Baroness as well. If you leave her on card, she is fine, but as a figure and from a playable point of view...she is pretty lame.

Serpentor has to be the worst of the bunch so far. Here is what I would of added to some of the figures:

Lady Jaye-Removable hat, video camera like the original and a new face

Snake Eyes V2-Backpack to hold sword

Gung Ho-Removable hat

Serpentor- Sheath for sword and a sidearm

Buzzer-Sidearm with holster

Storm Shadow-Nunchuks and claw for V2

Duke- Backpack like original

Roadblock-Sidearm with holster

Scarlett and Baroness-Removable pistols

Zartan-Bow like he had in the comic

So far its a toss up between Duke and Gungho. Gungho's inability to hold his shotgun in a more aesthetically pleasing position, and Duke's difficulty in holding weapons in his left hand. Sad to say, because otherwise Duke is a solid figure, mobility hindrances aside.

I wish generally the hands were molded a little more similar like the classic line was. I find trying to mix and match weapons just doesnt work so well.

The closed hands drive me nuts! Destro has 4 guns and a briefcase with one workable hand?

I'd say the worst fig so far is without a doubt serpentor. He's the only one I don't have and it's because I left him hanging on the peg! I can deal with the silly double knife thingy and the devils due updated costume but with a head sculpt that makes him look like the IT guy at my office and no sidearm and holster I just have to pass. the comic 3 pack serpentor was 5 times better! A close tie for second would be "lunch-lady" jaye or baroness. I think baroness gets the advantage of at least being mildly attractive but "lunch-lady" jaye has that hideous head sculpt and the non removable hat. plus the one I bought has a lazy eye too!

if i wanted to nit-pick i would complain about the v2 snake eyes being gray and not black! that is worse than the yellow stalker to me! also they really have to just stop with the closed fist thing. it was fine on CC but destro and shipwreck are handicapped by this?

Of course, I'm one of those who believed Serpentor was best left dead anyway.

I like Lady Jaye's sculpt, though I do agree we need a new hatless head for her.

I was going to say that Shipwreck was my least fave because of his horrible pain job, but I guess that's a quality control issue and I expect that it will be corrected (as with wall-eyed Zartan).

Destro's hands drive me nuts. THat, and I was really hoping for a headsculpt that more closely resembled the mask in his file picture.

Interesting that others are having Gung-Ho issues. I thought the loose legs on mine were a fluke.

Is it me or does Roadblock have kind of a pointy head?

And why do he and the Joe version of Stormy have blue eyes??

All that said, I think the Baroness is the big bust for this line so far (absolutely no pun intended). I tried to seat her in the back of a HISS II and I had to sprawl her, legs spread wide, across the middle of the troop compartment. If she's just standing ther fine, but she's no woman of action.

I'd have to say Serpentor. Although I like the figure, I would have preferred to have a v1 version of the figure rather than the updated DDP version of the figure. Whereas all the other releases so far pay homage to an original (sans the legions pack), DDP Serps looks like something that would've been better received by fans if it were released later on down the road.

I feel the same way about DDP Zartan. I like the figure, but I want one done in the original style.

my least favorite are 'Cobra Legions' Black Commander and DD Storm Shadow, because that cou'd have been a red Ninja, a Crimson Guardsmen or another Officer. CC and SS are getting NO shortage of releases, do we really need these 2? and it's a "legion" pack which says troop builders to me. :p

Next would be Serpentor. just seems like a waste of a slot, I thought he was generally hated. and it seems unlikely many of his parts can be re-used for other characters.

Plus, he's easy to pick on as the prime vector for when the 80s line started to jump the shark.:p

lastely is Lady Jaye. jus not very good, and kind of a boring character (imo) i would like to see a comic pack down the road of her with a new hatless head and Flint with fixed arms...

of the ones i own (CL5P CC and SS notwithstanding) Baroness is the only one i'm dissatisfied with (aside from the articlation issues they all have) and she's still pretty decent for display.

I think Serpentor is a lame character in general, but that is just me.

I also wasn't impressed with the Baroness' head sculpt. The way the hair was molded onto her head just seems to get in the way of it being in a natural position. Too bad because she is one of my favorite characters.

I don't own the Lady Jay figure but she looks very boring. Her hat needs to go for sure. Being a sculptor myself I think she needs to be revamped!!

I would have to say Gung-ho's sculpt. He looks more like Jesse Ventura, and not so much like the cajun guy from Apocalypse Now (which I'm sure was an inspiration), and what's the deal with his hat? If he's a Marine, why isn't he wearing his eight-point hat? I don't even recognize his headgear. Probably sculpted by the same militaria 'expert' who decided all cobra soldiers should use sniper rifles and the lower enlisted ranks carry handguns.

Second least farorite would be Baroness, mostly for her poor hairsculpt and goggle glasses.

I'd say the Red Ninja was done primarily because it was an easy repaint (with minor remold), and was a key 'missing' figure from the original line (and it just looks frigign' great :p) ~ and rumor has it the Viper is coming in 2008 wave 3...
