ARAH or DIE Contest "Mindbender's Lab" Entry-Jungle Croc-BAT

OK, I should set this up. I had planned to do this huge scene with lots of dialogue, but then I remembered how many people on Hisstank complain about having to read any post longer than three sentences. (This will still be longer than that.)

So, one day on Cobra Island, a Jungle BAT sentry marched a little too close to one of Croc Master's giant crocodiles. The croc grabbed, took a few nasty bites, dragged it under for a death roll, and swallowed what was left of the helpless BAT.

The next morning, Croc Master found the croc coughing up blood and BAT parts, so he drags it to Mindbender's Lab to have the Croc checked out.

At the same time, Hotwire noticed one of his new Jungle BAT Sentries was missing. On his way to complain to Mindbender, he sees Croc Master dragging his sick crocodile to the Lab, and the half digested BAT leg hanging out of it's mouth.

Hotwire freaks, and starts screaming at Croc Master, something about his mother being on that TV show "Swamp People", Croc Master calls Hotwire an Eddie Munster wannabe, and they fight until it starts to get violent. Mindbender walks out of his Lab and sees the argument, notices the croc coughing up a shredded BAT head, and has the perfect solution. "Gentlemen, please, no need to fight..."

I figure, if I'm doing something from Mindbender's Lab, I should do it BIG...Armor all around, cybernetic front claws with lasers, side mounted anti-tank missiles, hip mounted machine guns with an advanced fin system to increase maneuverability with all the extra weight, grenade launcher turret, ending in a chainsaw on the tail, and that's all just the croc. The BAT, instead of carrying a vulcan minigun, IS a dual cannon minigun, mounted in his chest with dual feeds from the backpack. On one arm, a flamethrower, and a massive edged weapon in the other hand, just in case something gets close. He still bears the Croc damage on his head and chest, but his legs are gone, so he fuzes with the Croc to make a nasty amphibious cybernetic android trooper.

The figure is removable (trying to keep within the contest guidelines, so the croc is technically his "accessory"). It also still has an O-Ring, the ring is connected to a hook in the bottom of the mount.

Maybe it's not vintage but the rules state:

your entry may contain up to 50% non-joe parts. BUT, the parts used must be from VINTAGE toy lines between 1982-1994.

-> You MAY however use ANY accessories from any toy line you wish. This includes gear, guns and any other small accessory.

So if it's considered a small accessory it's okay.

But then again, they also state...

For this category, create a Monster Viper Joe. Entries should be grotesque in their horror and easily recognizable as to the Joe that was transformed.

I guess the contest isn't over :/

If there aren't any other entries for this category, maybe the rules could be changed. I think this custom is worthy of it.

As for the croc, it is a Schleigh, a lot of those molds have been produced consistently for decades over in Europe, but yes, you can still buy them now. I got that same croc at a flea market back in the mid to late 90's from a guy that bought out a learning toy store. I used it as Croc Master's mega croc.

Ultimately, it is the judges call, if my piece doesn't adhere to the rules, they can always disqualify me. It would suck, but it really isn't up to me.

i had a concept in mind for this contest, using a similar line of animal toys, but I decided to ask first, and here's jaimanstone's reply:

The other parts must be from a vintage toy line, so anything new fro the dollar store won't work. Also, no to the Lanard Corps parts, must be ARAH.

As to molding stuff, yeah that's fine.

im planning to do a mutant, and using a snake head, from an animal resin toy, not action figure material. its not exactly vintage toyline, just from dollar stores, but can i use it? or do i have to look for an animal resin toy from the 80s to qualify?

can i use Lanard Corps - ARAH compatible parts for this contest?
can we mold using putty for this contest?

Croc is actually a Schlege (sp?). That croc mold has been around forever. I think I had one as a kid. Used to see it all the time I'm their display at the toy store. Also did a bunch of Dino's I had. They still make all of that stuff. Talk about getting mileage out of mold!

I just assumed that the snake you were referring to was a new and recent toy since you were asking. Is it one of those molds that's been around forever? If its a re-use of an old mold you're okay to use it.
