I thought it was funny as hell and had some cool action that I was not expecting.
The kid who plays young storm shadow is in it (I'm pretty sure) and kicks major ass. I can clearly see why he got the s.s. role.
They refer to the vietcong as "clowns" twice (those playing the g.i.joe game should like that, I know I did.)
I don't want to give away any spoilers yet so all I will say is that its worth checking out.
Poor simple jack. Never go full retard.

I saw it too Man. Not anything about your personal taste man, but I thought it was horrible.
I walked out.
I left not due to being offended or anything. It was just dumb. Dumb actors making fun of dumb shit in a dumb fasion.
I was willing to give it a chance cus Justin Theorux wrote it. He's one of my favorite new actors, You might remember him from this YouTube - The Cowboy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GekiIMh4ZkM)
Tropic Thunder was "full retard" not the way they had planed either.

Cool man, 1 positive and 1 negative review so far. I can see how some may be turned off by it.

thought it was very good, but not as great as I hoped. but at least it was better than Pineapple Express -- that was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

I saw it today and thought it was great, especially the stuff with Robert Downy Jr.
Was there more scenes after the credits? I noticed in the tv spots that they show scenes I didn't notice. I stayed for as long as the end of Tom Cruise's dance.
Jack Black reminded me of a fat, drug addicted Rock 'N Roll with the two bandoleers over his torso. I was trying to figure out if any of the others would remind me of G.I. Joes.

Sweet, i was going to catch both Tropic Thunder and Pineapple Express today but i guess i'll wait on seeing Pineapple Express some other time. I did watch Tropic Thunder today.
After hearing all the reviews regarding Tropic Thunder and non stop laughter, i think i only laughed a couple of times during the movie. It wasn't horrible and it wasn't great.
I definately enjoyed the the cameo performances.

I just got back from it myself, and im definately on the positive side. My tooth has been hurting for a while, and watching this made it hurt more with laughing so damn much. Seriously, my tooth and jaw were hurting sooo bad when I got out of the theater.
All the cameos where great, the one that killed me was the cameo in 'Satin's Alley".
The whole theater thought the commercials and trailers where real at first, was friggin hysterical.

It was good, full of good laughs, but the biggest jokes weren't the oblivious ones, like in the beginning "GET YOUR DEE-TRIOT JUTEBOX JERRYCURL ASS IN THE CHOP CHOP" had me laughing for a while. I really can't stand Ben Stiller but he was accually tollerable, Robert Downey Junior stole the show as usual.
I liked Pineapple Express better.

I actually kind of want to see this. Most of the reviews I have read have been positive.

From what I read the "Booty Sweat" commercial is somewhat real as they've apparently released the energy drink in stores to coincide with the release of the movie and to promote it. I haven't seen the drink yet, but I haven't really had much of a chance to check.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, as did my wife and the three friends we were there with.
I loved the satire of Vietnam war movies. Especially the scene at the very beginning with all the lingo and the Vietnamese phrases tossed in; I know I heard a Dien Cai Dau thrown in there somewhere.
The first part with the movie previous was really funny.

Ive seen it 3 times now, with different groups of people, and I still find new jokes each time, and still laugh at everything else. The movie absolutely kills me. Me and my brother text eachother with different "Les Grossman" quotes every day.

i dont know how you could say pineapple exspress was one of the worst movies you have ever seen. it was awsome. you obviously have no taste in funny movies. you also prolly never were a smoker either. you kinda have to be to enjoy PE. it was one of the funniest movies i have seen this year.
havnt seen tropic thunder, heard good things about it but i will have to judge for myself. if you guys want to see a funny movie go see pineapple exspress and see it with a BUD! it was great!

Yeah, Pineapple Express is definitely a stoner flick. I used to smoke, so I thought it was friggin hilarious, but for anyone who never got into the "left handed cigarettes", they may not get a lot of the humor.

After seeing it, I totally think Jeff Portnoy was based on Chris Farley.
And yay for Bill Hader. A nutless monkey certainly can't do his job. :D

Yeah, I was wondering myself if anyone REALLY walks out of a movie, or is it to just show your level of disdain just to say it. I haven't seen it but just hearing Downy Jr say Huuuuh after the " You people" thing makes me laugh.

Robert Downey Jr. is my favorite actor, and its so good to see him having his year. I thought the movie was funny as sh*t, seriously. Satan's alley? Hilarious. "I'm a lead farmer, mother****er!" The film muh-muh-made me huh-huh-happy. (And now I realize that I'm gonna be one of those guys responsible for overquoting it and making the general public hate it only because they hear too much about it. Oh well. Watch it, that's all I can say)

and Downey jr.'s "we gonna di di mau di di now!" lol and I may be wrong but the "fakeness" of Four Leaf (the author of the book in the film) is a reference to Oliver Stone and the fact that he was AWOL most of his tour, and that he led people to believe that Platoon was a word for word account of his. If so, my hats off to Stiller for calling him out.
Just saw it today. Awesome movie. I couldn't stop laughing.

That, and Tugg's attempt at collapsing while getting shot at in the beginning looks like the movie poster for "Platoon".

I saw it when it came out. Did I like it? Look at my sig pic, lol.
I loved Robert Downey Jr. 'What do you mean you people?' and
'I'm the dude playin the dude thats disguised as another dude.'
I also liked the part where Matt Mc thought Stiller killed a prosititute named Amanda and told him to get some bleach and a shit load of limes! LOL!
Tom Cruise's best part for me was when he told that big dude to punch the director and the guy walked over and was like, 'sorry, man' and then WHAM! Smacked the piss out of him!
God, I love this movie!
Sab
Oh! How can I forget 'I'm a LEAD FARMER MF!!!!!!!'
And when the fake trailers were playing for the movie, this old couple were behind me and when Satan's Alley rolled, they were going on and on about how ridicolous that was! I'm surprised they didn't get up and leave. If I remember correctly, it wasn't until the credits rolled when they figured out Cruise was in the movie.

Great film, instant classic. Its to bad Owen Wilson dropped out of it. He would have made it 4.5 degrees better.
