Those of you who own a Gold PDD, please look at the back of your card and tell us what the date stamp on the back is.
A few of us are trying to solve a recent mystery that has come to light.

The number is the date the figure was carded. Someone has one that has a date stamp for this year, everyone elses has a date stamp for last year.

it's not a "big deal" if only a handful were produced this year. It would only be a big deal if HASBRO made another assortment of 1000, or so, more.

It's not a big deal period. Hasbro can make as many as they want and sell them through HTS all year long. Its a HTS exclusive not an SDCC exclusive.
As for the numbers, 71112 just means that they were all carded on the same day at the factory, which makes sense. I'd imagine that if we can build 2200+ cars a day, Hasbro can crank out all the Pimp Destros they released last year in a day as well. Heck I bet a good employee can assemble a lone figure in thirty seconds or less.

the factory workers are Chinese, and are most likely under the age of 16. So regardless of how fast the factory worker makes one, his/her gold medal shouldn't count.

Heh. Stupid Olympics.
Bah... You're not gonna make me feel sorry about a kid building these things. Truth is, if you really want to fight that battle, you'll have to give up toy collecting in the first place.
Man I wish I could get the folks around here to build their parts in under 30 seconds. I'd be home by lunch everynight.

The question is who will build our toys next, the Indians or will all the factories move to Africa?

i hope they go to Africa and all the little kids with swollen stomachs with flys all over them make my figures with the hopes of being able to eat. Then when Hasbro raises the prices to $9.99 a figure they tell the children they wont be able to afford to pay them with food anymore, but will offer them the left over Buzzer and Serpentor figures instead, then i wont have to see them on the pegs anymore.
