Snow Serpents starting to keep pegs luke warm

Starting to find quite a few Snow Serpents hanging around on the shelves a lot longer than they used to. Seems like every other store I walk into has the Snow Serpent hanging there with 2 or 3 of the other wave 9 figures, along with a butt load of wave 7 stuff. BATs are still somewhat difficult to find though. But I have my 15 so I'm not too concerned. Actually, I see Snow Serpents much more often than I see Ninja-Ku recently.

I got my fill of Snow Serpents after the first week these things were release, plus with the arctic set coming out late this year, I'm not even tempted to buy more Snow Serpents.

Targets got two shipments back to back at first but I haven't seen much of that wave at Target for a couple of weeks now. Walmart is the place that's overflowing with wave 7 and 9.

Noticed this problem last night. Went by a Wal Mart looking for a few things (Not Joe related) walked by the isle and it appeared that they had several wave 9 cases that came in with the figures that were on the pegs. After looking almost the entire area was nothing but Bazooka, Gen. Hawk, BBQ, and Snow Serpents.

Now the reason why I said it appeared that they recieved several was that I was at that exact Wal Mart just 5 hours earlier and they had a couple of Buzzers and 4 Vipers on the pegs. when I returned I found 7 Snow Serpents, 5 Bazooka, 4 Gen. Hawk and 4 BBQ... although they could have gotten a few revision cases?

Snow Serpents don't stay on the pegs longer than 2 days here. I have passed up quite a few because after opening my 5th one with a loose left leg, I gave up. Three different date stamps bought at different places, Walmart, TRU, and Target.

Yeah, the BAT's are still quite hot, after I got my 8, I grabbed BAT's for others and I would see the Snow Serpents just peg warming, eventually they'd get sold, but they sit almost a week, before getting bought and this is at WM & Target. TRU is slowly getting wave 9, twice they've got 1 case each time, in the past week and a half.

Are you self employed, or employed at all? I want to know. It's at least a 20 minute drive in any direction to get to any stores that carry these figures. How do you pay for gas?

i pass 2 to 3 stores a day on my way home from work. i'm already headed in the right direction, all i do is make a few stops along the way. depending on the route i take, it changes the stores i stop at. it's about 30-45 minutes added to my trip if i have to pay for something. plan accordingly, you can be very effecient in your search with minimal additional time/costs associated.
saturdays on the other hand, i hit them all in one trip. takes about 2 hours and i never back track. it's my quiet morning time that i actually enjoy most of the time. sometimes i take one of the kids along and stop for breakfast before tru opens, etc.

good story! I find my quiet time (to clear my head) on my walks to Walmart every other night or so, its a good half mile too. But it's always worth it walking back with some new figures... or in this threads case, some Snow Serpents!!!! -i've only found one Snow Serpent though:(

Come on, by now everyone knows that the distribution of these things is not equal in all parts. Just because AZ gets a crap load of shipments does not mean everywhere else does. Before assuming that everyone else, no mater where they live, must just be lazy, try living in in one of these "dry zones" and see if you have the same success. I'm lucky to find ANY single packs on the pegs where I'm at. I've see exactly 3 figures from this wave, and I do not think I will ever see a BAT in the store. Granted seaching for toys is only a hobby, not my job, so I do not dedicate hours and hours to it. I have a life as well. Not everyone likes to spend all their free time in Walmart.

Maybe you are competing with more people, maybe you aren't even trying to compete...not doing the necessary footwork it takes to find these. Many people here claim they've never seen wave 9 except for the repack Torpedos and Wild Bills...well that just shows that their stores ARE getting them, these guys are just getting to the stores too late.

I never claimed to see a "ton of bats and snow serpents". But if I did, I would surely get them to board members here as I've done with CGs, Air Troopers, Vipers, and Hiss Drivers that I've found warming pegs.

I can say on my treks, I find at least Serpent everytime. Sometimes 1 per store which is why I now have 7.

Walmarts are getting so many, I don't think the scalper's moms are letting them have enough money to buy them all.

A WalMart near me got five cases of Wave 9 figures last night. I saw them on the pegs at around 2 a.m. and left quite a bit for others to buy. I went back today around 2 p.m. and there was a substantial amount of figures purchased in that 12 hour window including all of the Snow Serps I had left (4 of them).

The Hawk figure was the one with the most remaining (3) while the BATS, Serps were all gone and the BBQ (1), Bazooka (3) and KU Storm Shadow (1) remained.

I shop regularly and have still only seen the remnants of wave 9 on 5 or 6 occasions. Only once did I spot a B.A.T. and twice have I spotted a Snow Serpent. The scalper population is huge in the Philadelphia area, which can make TF & Joe hunting quite difficult.

I know up until about a week ago from the time wave 9 hit each week for about 3 to 5 days out of a week I hit up at least 3 or 4 stores on the days I was out in the morning at opening or at closing (for Walmarts) and only ONCE did I find wave 9 in stores near me.

On a side note I've made friends in their thirty's that have been collecting figures since they where kids that have told me that these joes are some of the hardest figures to find in all their years of collecting.

That goes against your initial assesment that the Snow Serpents are peg warming. If you have to go to the store at 2:00 in the morning to find one, that is hardly peg warming. If the Snow Serpents are in deed available in mass quantities, judging by all the other replys, it is only by you. Personally I don't care, I have 15 of them coming in the artic set later in the year, so I'm holding off. But, I've still never seen one.

I haven't seen any Ninja Ku or the Bats at retail. I've seen a total of 1 Snow Serpent. Wild Bill seems to be Peg Warming.
I haven't even seen the Wave 5 comic packs yet. And I've only seen the Copperhead/Shippy and Duke/Redstar packs.

I despise the entire toy aftermarket and value system. That's why I've taken pleasure in seeing the Black Suit CC released several times on Hasbro's site, driving down it's value and screwing all the people who bought a bunch of them hoping to cash in.

of the day and find these........When I was a kid they were always there. I could tell my mom that i wanted a Snake Eyes......Flint and she would and could come home with it. I see TF Filled to the Brim.....Star Wars...Power Rangers...Ben 10...My Little Pony...Wrestling Figs.....Matchbox.....Hot Wheels...CORPS....Hell even VvV...and Spy Troops were there all the time. Hasbro stop Fing with us and give these stores Stock!!!!! I should not have to be at Target at 8 AM....Wal Mart at 12AM....TRU at 10AM....to be able to fing one GD Figure. I dont think its the stores anymore......I was at Walmart ONE time when the pallet came out and low and behold One stupid Case.....One GD Case........on a pallet full of Power Rangers.......

Oh I do Understand......My GF works for Wal Mart and the Store Manager and Toy Department Manager came over for a Cook out on Sat. Both said Hasbro has shorted their orders ever since this line started. Both Know this is a Hot Seller and both are confused on why they cant get every piece they order. Its not the stores not at all.....Hasbro knows what they are doing and what they are doing is not making enough GI Joes........

I for one will be happy when all the movie stuff starts because this not finding Jack except when Venus is in line with Mars and the Moon is Full is getting old...........Atleast when the movie stuff comes out Ill finally See GI Joe on the shelves even though I have no intrest in anything except a Movie Snake Eyes.............blah!!

Probably has to do with that revision case with two Serpents and two BATS. I guess BATS are still popular enough to fly off the pegs steadily, even with two to a case.

It's not about putting forth effort. Some stores don't have the pegs loaded every morning like you'd expect. Some restock at different times of the day. It's more about luck, location, and whether or not employees are collectors or not. Employees also stash them. Places like Target rarely have a full selection of Joes, atleast the two Targets by my house. Unless you want to burn up gas going county to county all day. It's more about luck than effort. Unless you quit the job you have now to go work at Target or TRU, then it's LUCK mostly. I'm not seeing too many 25th Joes locally. Half of the time I have to drive up to Washington to find them.

One time I was at a Target and one of the employees had just opened a fresh case. I stood next to him, he would reach into the box and put a figure on a peg. As soon as he let go of a figure, I'd snatch it up and look it over. I put the ones I wanted in my red basket, and put back the ones I decided not to get. I did this until he finished the case, he just quietly kind of looked over at me in the corner of his eye. He was probably worried, I'm sure I came off slightly crazed.

i have only seen 2 snow serpents and i have picked up both of them so they aren't warming pegs here (unfortunately). regular vipers are the peg warmers at the targets and walmarts at which i normally stop.

None of the Joes warm pegs here, besides Buzzer at Target, and Wild Bill at Toys R Us. The ONE Wal-Mart I frequent has either 0 or 1 in stock, and it's usually so mangled you don't want it, or it's missing pieces.

Some of the comic 2-packs (the lame ones from Wave 1) are warming pegs, and they're starting to get beat up pretty badly, which just increases their life on the peg. The TRU near me actually had to put those plastic tabs because the cardboard ones were torn completely off. The CG/Scarface packs warm pegs at a few TRUs, but the only reason is the QC on the paintjobs... The worst ones hang around forever.

That's the beauty of Silicon Valley. Too many collectors, not enough Joes.

I saw a bunch of BATS and Snow Serpents hanging on the peg at my local walmart yesterday.
Hasbro said production would increase. So, I think they'll be on the pegs like Vipers before long.

At the 8 dollar price tag I would'nt call what ya got a small troop build at all, more like the norm the way I see it. In fact thats exactly what I'm lookin at 4 troops and an officer, Bats I also went with only 5 cause their just leaderless crazy head popin off bastards.
