1988 as well. Since we have been getting everything that we see in the comics (for the most part aside from the skystriker), In the new comic packs, the vehicles shown for the Iron Grenadiers Comic (#7) The Maggot, IMP, AGP, & Demon. The figures of note; Outback, Sneak Peek, Nullifiers, Ferret, Toxo-Vipers, Techno-Vipers, W.O.R.M.S.

The vehicles we have for the Falcon Comic (#8): The Tomahawk is shown.

I have not read issue #9 (Tripwire) yet.

While I don't believe everything we see in the comics will get made, I'll play along. Here's what's in comic #9:

Heavy Duty
Mindbender

Cobra RV (I'm including this because I'd like one :) )

There was also a Fang and Mainframe, but we already know we're getting those

I would be extremely happy if they released a tomahawk. I never had one as a kid though i really really wanted one.

An updated AGP with Nullifier would be sweet. A DEMON with the current Iron grenadiers and IG Destro would be great as well.

I was sorta wondering the same thing after I read the last set of comics. Night Creepers were featured prominently in one, and now they're rumored to be coming out.The Shipwreck and Copperhead comic had the Piranha attack boat and the hydrofoil, so I wonder if we'll see those? Maybe the water moccasin counts!

I certainly wouldn't take any of this to mean that these other things will definitely be released. If Hasbro releases some of the things in the IG/Destro comic it would be fine by me!

the IG / Destro comic takes place before issue #87. I wouldn't read too much into the characters featured in the comic as being future releases, they merely fit the storyline.

I think the comics and the packaging art are decent predictors of what we may be getting.

The Target AWE Striker had Dusty on the package art long before he was confirmed.

Tomahawk would be great. I thought the playability of the vintage one was crappy. It was a very brittle toy. I have one near mint with the blades and canopy glued on. It just seemed to break so easy.

And Outback is a must. Even the DTC outback is cool.

I'm not a big fan of the vehicles from 1987, 88 and so on. I've only been interested in GI Joe vehicles that have a strong basis in reality, so some of the bizzaro, sci-fi designs I'm really not interested in.

That's not saying I hate sci-fi because I'm a big fan of Star Wars and am having a blast collecting the new Clone Wars toys. HOWEVER, I think the real world element of GI Joe is key. If it just becomes Star Wars set on Earth, then what's the point?

That being said, I would love to see a Tomahawk (which was actually from 1986, not 87) and I really want DECENT modern updates of figures like Lt. Falcon and Tunnel Rat.

I've seen the Falcon that came in the comic pack and he looks like dookie. I'd rather just do without a modern Falcon figure than settle for that hunk of garbage.

yeah, way back in 1985 :)

Sorry, I still don't buy the idea that the artwork is an indicator of what we'll get in the future. Why? Because Hasbro flat out said it isn't an indicator.

Now before anyone says Hasbro has denied things that came true like Python Patrol and such, let me tell ya something. Hasbro didn't flat out deny Python Patrol, they said, not for the first half of 2008. Had they said something like this about the artwork, then I'd be more of a believer. Course this is only in response to being asked about the SDCC card set artwork. Seems they haven't been asked about any other artwork. (I coulda sworn they were asked about the back of the 5 packs but I can't find that now)

That's why I said "decent" predictor, like 50/50. I don't think it's absolute. I mean, the Terror Drome is on the original 25th 5-pack boxes, and so is the Flagg if I'm not mistaken. But a lot of the action figures that we've got are (on those boxes). I still think we'll see a modern Crimson Baroness before the movie comes out.

It would make sense for them to kind of advertise and tease customers with possible future products in the comics.
