Do you think "The Dark Knight" will get nominated for any Oscars?

Usually fanboy films get the cold shoulder except in special effects categories (often for good reason). But I wonder if this will buck the trend like "The Return of the King" did.

I could see it getting nominations for:

Best Picture
Best Director
Best Screenplay
Best Supporting Actor (Heath Ledger)
Special Effects
Best Makeup
Best Costumes

I didn't think they actually gave best picture to movies people actually went to see. Of course Heath was their darling so maybe.

I would actually be flabbergasted if Dark Knight didn't get at least 3 nominations for the Oscars.

Although it might start to be overshadowed when Oscar season rolls around.

yeah i defintley think it will. i went to go see it seven times already. the joker had the greatest scenes. it should at least bring home two awards.

No because of Hollywood bias... the only reason that Lord of the Rings got the award it deserves was because of the out cry from the people and fan base

heath ledger will win an award hands down as soon as he died they gave him the award

Will it happen? Who knows. The academy is a run by a bunch of baffoons.

i would say Best Supporting Actor (Heath Ledger) is possible only because hes dead and it will be a "in memory of" type of deal, even though his performance was outstanding.

I think Heath for best actor. Not supporting. That should go to Aaron Eckhart his performance was also oscar worthy.

Hard to say....They don't usually give many major awards (best actor, best picture) to comic book movies....They might get nominated but I don't think they'll get the win for some reason.

Don't get me wrong, I <3 Heath and his performance but to get an Oscar for it? I don't know about that....

As good of a movie as it was for guys, and gals like us. I don't think it will be nominated.

The people behind the oscars don't often (if ever) favor movies with fast food tie ins (dominos, Burger King).

If it wins something it will be for editing or something.

I would like it too, it deserves it but the Liberals running the Oscars will give it to whatever movie is most Anti-American or one about how racist everyone is.
