anyone noticed that almost every single carded figures of GI JOE in BBTS are sold-out? even the "pre-order" ones.
and BBTS still have some major explaining to do. i ordered and paid 3 SS figures, they sent only 2. what the...?

BBTS cannot sell what Hasbro will not send them. They've been burned many times in the past with Hasbro only filling 40-50% of their order. As a result they've started making fewer pre-orders available. That's why pretty much everything is sold out.

That burn goes right down to the buyer. My first order(s) from BBTS for some 25th anniversary stuff got shorted by Hasbro so I ended up with nill.
IMO, Hasbro is the one that has the explaining to do...

It really is a poor situation. Not only is it fierce competition to find these in store, you now have to be at your computer the moment a pre-order goes up or you'll miss it.

hhmmm. it look likes its hasbro's fault for not filling the orders. damn.

I would definitely contact them about it. I'm sure they'll correct the error.
I've had a lot of pre-order canceled from other sites as well. Hasbro just doesn't bother filling the orders even though they're placed months in advance. Perhaps they're reallocating the inventory the the large retailers to keep them happy.

Yes, this is clearly Hasbro's issue.
BBTS are the nicest and most reliable online dealer... they would love to sell you all the Joes you could buy.
If you got short-shipped on an item you were actually billed for that is clearly just a shipping error and I'm sure emailing them would solve the issue very quickly.
It would be a much different matter if you had something missing from 2 or three different orders... but one is clearly just something accidentally left out.

Done a lot of business with BBTS, never had a problem. Hasbro, on the other hand, always seems to mess something up.

Does your invoice show 3 figures? The only reason I ask is because a lot of posters here have mentioned that when they added something to their BBTS shopping cart that sometimes the quantities were changed.

Too true. Every single time I do business with HTS, my order gets "cancelled" because they are "out of stock".

If you paid for figures you didn't receive, contact them. I'm sure they'll correct the mistake.

It's frustrating to log on to BBTS everyday and see SOLD OUT everywhere! LOL
Now, I know it's been asked before, but why is that Transformers and Star Wars toys are always fully stocked but not Joes? Did they underestimate the success of the line? Does no one care about the other two?

Let's hit that way-back machine to last year:
"No Transformers toys anywhere!"
"Wal-Mart's bare! there's nothing!"
Yeah, Hasbro underestimated the success of the Transformers movie toys. As a result, shelves were bare for months leading up to Christmas. Hasbro even air shipped toys from China to get them here in time for black friday and some of the shopping season
So Hasbro underestimating GI Joe's success isn't all that far fetched

This is true...I didn't even think about the movie line....but I was really referring to the lines that are out now. It just feels like Hasbro took a vacation from making Joes!

Not only are the units limited from the get-go, but you are competing with other buyers around the world. Not just in the U.S.
In some part of the U.S., we are still seeing limited units already.

To comment on BBTS, if you got charged, then apparently they had the item in stock, so you need to contact them. I have NEVER had a problem with them and have even sold stuff to them. BBTS is AOK in my book.

Just remeber the other recent Joe lines that started out hot, then cooled and the stores were swamped with toys that wouldn't sale. Hasbro is just covering themselves in case Joes yet again stop selling like Star Wars and Transformers.

I used to think this but I don't anymore. Hasbro doesn't have any trouble getting toys marketed to CHILDREN to the stores. I now think lines that are collector-driven it purposefully shorts to keep up collector interest.
The reason the movie Transformers action figures were so hard to come by initially was because they expected the line to be a collector line, just the hard-core Botheads would get it. Then lo and behold, the film blows up big at the box office, and they're left scrambling to fill the void.
The 25th Joe line was as collector-targeted as a line can get without being an internet exclusive like the new MOTU stuff. They've upped the ante but because it's still a major "collector" line they will keep shorting everyone to keep up interest. One of the most effective ways to make people want something is to make it hard to get.
Look at how plentiful the Clone Wars stuff is. Hasbro can make plenty of toys and get them out to retailers. If they can do it with one line they can do it with them all. But if you are a Star Wars collector, you know the stuff is a lot harder to come by when it is collector-driven and non-movie years.
I expect them to short the Joe movie toys as well, at least in the beginning. It seems Hasbro has the most pronounced love/hate relationship with Joe collectors than it does with any other line it makes.

Good points, but don't forget that stores determine how much product they want Hasbro to ship to them also.
