anyone know, maybe from the recent convention, exactly what it will take to get the mail-away Doc?

UPCs? and/or receipts?
are flag points returning?

The current rumor is 6 UPC's from the comic packs.

well, I asked about the flag point that most of us are still holding on to at the Hasbro Panel, they may incorporae those into the DOC mail in, or it may be a totally new figure added. (or even a Collectors club premium)

The current rumor is 6 UPC's from the comic packs.

ive not really been following the comic packs for a couple of reasons...
A. the SW comic packs are lower quality than single carded figs, hopefully these wont be.
B. im not really interested in comic-coloured repaints.

and for these reasons i have not been paying much attention............but....

will there be enough packs to get 6 UPCs without duplicates? or...
is the promotion far enough out to allow a few waves to hit?

(all assuming the rumor becomes the fact)

Well wave one will be 3 packs and we've only seen one pack from wave 2. So if it does happen to be just comic pack UPC's then you'll probably need to buy 2 of everything, However Hasbro did say in their Q&A that they would find a way to use the old battle points (I'm assuming that includes flag points)

Course all of this is speculation, we'll probably find out the details in 2008

6 comic packs, does that count Star Wars too? Cause by when Doc is ready for mail order there will be only 3 comic packs. Do they expect us to buy doubles? By the time Wave 2 comic pack come out will Doc even still be offered?

I don't think Hasbro is fully sure what the plan is.

most mail away are bagged and a file card included. That is what I remember at least when I was a kid. :D

I doubt that it will be. Its just a heck of a lot cheaper on Hasbro's part to put him in a baggie (from a production and shipping standpoint), and I don't see what their incentive would be to put him on a card. . .

From Round 2 of the Hasbro Q&A:

- In a recent poll, a mail away figure was advertised as a possibility for 2008. Will the mail-away figure be carded, so it could be displayed like the other carded figures, or would it be shipped in the traditional baggie w/ filecard?

A: It will be carded. We undertand it is important to have
consistency in your collection.

Yes, it is a dissapointment, I'd rather him be 16 single pack UPCs than 6 comic ones.

Woo Hoo, that would be awesome if Doc really does come on card!!

I don't see why Doc couldn't come carded. Hasbro carded the mail away George Lucas figure, just like the other VOTC figures.

I love the fact that he will be carded. I'm also sad how much it's going to cost me to get the 2 I want.

I'm taking sides with Hasbro. Seriously, I'm willing to admit that I will find any shortcut to buying a ton of multipack repaints.

- I think the comic packs are aimed primarily at kids.

- I think Hasbro is ensuring that these don't warm any pegs anywhere if they slap on a mail-in promo.

Sure, it's not fair to our collective wallets. But with all the nice things Hasbro has been doing, they have to pull at least a little something dirty. C'mon, it's mandatory. ;)

Hi everyone,

I've only recently boarded the 25th Anniversary Train and was wondering if it's still possible to get the mail-away Doc. I think I saw somewhere that the offer expired already, but maybe the powers that be will take pity on me...

Thanks!
