I went to Walmart in Aldrich. Picked up the whole set of Marvel Legends left only a single Iron man.

Marvel universe was bare to the bones still they haven't ordered anything for that wave.

GI Joe, Left over wave two figures and the top line is Star Wars with 3-d glasses.

New Halo figures present too.

I hit the Smithfield Target and found 5 Artic Destros. I hadn't seen any in a while. Seems they all migrated to Smithfield.

I did see 2 Fire Blast Destroyers and2 Hoguns from the Thor movie line clearanced for $4.

Tons of Phantom Menace figures - no sign of Deleted Scene. I don't think they even put a case out because you could have your pick of that wave.

They also had 2 Psylocks. I don't follow MU but is she the sought after figure? There was one Storm, Modern Thor, Shadowland DD, IRon Fist and others.

Agreed. I hope Hasbro learns someday the flooding the pegs with early waves is a line killer. I doubt they ever will. Never saw any of the Warriors Three or Destroyer in the wild.Same thing with Iron Man 2. Had to srcamble for the few Drones I was able to find. Never did see the unhelmeted War Machine or IM or Black Widow (sigh). It's hard for me to get excited about new lines these days because I know the figures I really want will never be available except for ebay.

Some Targets still have wave 1 Thor figures on endcaps on clearance. Saw the Wave 2 Thor (with Helmet), a Frost Giant, and a few other various silly light-up/glow-in-the-dark Thor figures with huge wacky weapons as well over the weekend at the Stoughton Target, on clearance for ~$5. Knowing Target, they'll drop more and more in price until they're gone, like the time I picked up 4 ROC Baroness figures for $0.83 each at Millbury Target a couple of years ago.

Also, Why are they called the "Warriors 3" if there are technically 4 of them...? Are Hogun, Fandrall and Volstaag the 3? Maybe Sif isn't included in their trio and was just with the group for the movie.. Anyway, I don't know much about Thor's comic history, I was just speculating.

The SE and FF weren't there last week, all they had left on pegs previously were CCs and Duke. There was also 2 new renegade troopers there instead of just 1 as would be in wave 4. Didn't Fesifsky in MA sightings just find a SS at woburn TRU?

Yes. Yes, I did. It was by pure chance. It was at the very back of the pegs and the only reason I grabbed him was because I was coming from Worcester and needed some kind of excuse to make the trip worthwhile....have to buy premium gas for my car and hasn't been cheap lately.

I would recommend anyone who's close enought to stake out that TrU until they get another case or so...from the looks of it, that fig hadn't been there more than 24hrs.

They did not have a SS when I was there. Got some prime stuff... dont know how i get suxed in to buying non joe stuff. I get joes online usually, I dont really go out of my way but if im driving by and I have time I will stop. Too many ya all fans are crazy to keep up with lol. And as many of you say, gas prices suxs even more when you keep doing toy runs, especially when you come back empty handed.

In other news, it looks like Fesifisky's recent discovery of a Renegades Storm Shadow/actual case of Wave 3 at TRU was not a unique incident. I went to the Peabody TRU yesterday where I found a suspicious group of leftover wave 3 joes:

•Hazard Viper
•Renegades Scarlett
•Renegades Ripcord
•Renegades Tunnel Rat
•Renegades Cobra Trooper
•Renegades Firefly X2

All of the above figures except for ONE of the Renegades Fireflies, had the same date stamp, which IIRC was "12481" (which, if you're familiar with Julian date numerical translation, translates to the 248th day of 2011, or September 5th, 2011 being their factory production date). Typically, with Hasbro at least, it takes a few months for the figures to hit store shelves once they have been stamped like this. Meaning that figures with this date stamp would be considered "overdue" to be in stores this late.

However, the biggest giveaway here is the Hazard Viper, who was last shipped with wave 3 and would not have the same date stamp as the rest of these familiar wave 3 figures UNLESS he was shipped in the case with them. The bottom line is that this was undoubtedly a bonafide case of wave 3 and not just wave 4 leftovers, so somebody in Peabody snagged a Renegades Storm Shadow within the last week (I was there last Sunday as well).

Walmart in Adlrich- Phantom Menace Wave, No new MU aside from the white F4 pack and the Luke cage/Iron Fist and Captain Britain/Spider man , Avengers wave minus Loki, Hulk, Hawkeye. Marvel Legends of wave two Captain, Drax and the white guy. GI joe left overs of wave 1 and 2.

Target in the mall No new Joes in fact two pegs are cleared of them save for a lone Cobra Command Renegade. Marvel Legends of wave two in the form of Captain America. All Avengers the newest left over of Marvel Universe and a restock of the waves prior. I found an Arkham City Nightwing left a golden age catwoman. Both Target and Walmart had Rainbow wave still on the pegs.

Retaliation Wave 1 has hit and it looks terrible. I'll pick up a Joe Trooper or 2 and a Red Ninja but pass on the rest. Storm Shadow was a possible buy but it looks like he comes with 2 swords and no pack to hold them. Even the Cobra Trooper looks weak compared to recent Cobra soldiers, especially with that holster floating away from his hip.

I assume the 3 packs are being released around the same time as wave 1? I might grab those - I'm still on the fence.

At a roadside yardsale I stopped at while driving out to grab some dinner. They had other comics (DC, Image), but they were mostly newer and of stuff I've never heard of. I happened to spot the Joe comic, knew what it was, and realized it was a first edition with the barcode on the cover and no black "M" border around the little white box (non comic shop/regular retail release). It's in fair, readable shape. No torn pages, no damaged spine, or missing pieces. Not fantasticly fresh but in good enough condition that you wouldn't mind letting folks thumb through it. Readable, the way I like it. It also has that old comic book smell. Smells like...nostalgia.

Couldn't have been Boston Comic Con. I didn't see many deals yesterday.

Good thing I didn't bother to go there. I figured it would be a waste.

I'm looking for a Marvel Universe Silver Surfer if anyone finds one in thier travels (or has one for sale). Carded or loose, doesn't matter. It's getting opened anyway.

BCC was great if you're into artists, OK for comic deals, terrible for toy deals. Everything toy related was overpriced.

Got to meet Steve Epting, Ed McGuinness, Ivan Reis, Herb Trimpe (original Joe Artist!), and many others.



As for Silver Surfer, if you think of it, let me know. I'm in no hurry. I feel like I've seen one around recently and passed. At the time I wasn't looking, but last week I got a sweet deal on a SDCC MU Galactus so now I need Silver Surfer so the big purple fella doesn't go hungry.

So I came across another Zombie Viper weeks ago and decided to finally keep one after helping others out. I opened him today and I just don't get the excitement over this figure. He seems so flimsy and soft. What a waste.

Zombie Vipers are like a joke ... if it has to be explained it's not worth it. I'm a zombie fan so these are cool in my book. But not with the tentacles, it's like they wanted a hint of Renegades but weren't fully commited to a Bio-Viper.

He probably is less sturdy than most POC figures. Those were some solid figures.

The Amazon.com Retaliation set is a huge let down. Repaints of what we're getting in wave 1. I was hoping for a unique Roadblock that was similar to the box art. Nope. Roadblock with those damn hands. Pass for me.

Looks like the Renegades Amazon set is the only thing I'll order. The Joe community is going crazy over whether to pre-order or not. I'll wait for retail on everything in Waves 1 & 2. The later waves seem to have to good stuff and if the pegs are flooded with W1 & 2, I'll start pre-ordering the later stuff.

I feel your pain! Prices on 25th BATs have actually gone way up on ebay recently too! Have you noticed? I got several back in '08 at full price when they were on shelves and then bought every single one that I saw when they were flooding Marshalls and TJ Maxx a few Christmases ago for $2.99-$3.99 a piece, but I'd still like more as well! Woburn Comic Show run by Larry of Larry's Comics in Lowell. Very good guy. Next one is Saturday, May 19.

I've never been to the show but it's free admission and tables are $45. He has one every month and gets a mix of comic shops and private collections to set up. He used to put together a show in Chelmsford with legit comic artist and I attended that one regularly. It was a nice little show. Something happened between him and the hotel so he moved and decided to run smaller monthly shows in a new location rather than larger quarterly show.

Most of the Targets have over 50 Star Wars figures in their store so no new cases going to be going in there until those sell.. This is the problem they flood the SW figs and then they don't get the waves in with the cool figures. If anyone wants him I can grab a Nom Anor from the comic shop he's $16 though..

That news makes me glad I pre-ordered everything and am sitting back with my new figures. Star Wars is one thing I don't mess around with and have put the money into pre-orders. I would recommend it to all you hunters. Your life will be so much easier.

New Darth Vader, 501 blue clone troop, Darth maul, slave leia, r2 with refreshments, some skiff guy, blockade runner rebel, blue Jedi chick, clone wars Anakin, hoth Luke, Yoda, stormtrooper, amidala in black dress, Ep1 obiwan, ep2 obiwan, quigon, ep1 battle droid, the 2 pod racer two packs, young Jedi Anakin (Padawan), That purple robes green alien guy with the red eyes, Naboo guard, Quinlan Vos, tan Ewok with the skull hat, endor Han Solo, Bom vim din, Dr. Evazan, and I think that was it.

I started doing this myself, but with ARAH joe con figures. Everyone was so focused on Stormshadow and the the 30th figures, I was grabbing con figures for pretty cheap on ebay.

Oh God, that takes me back to the days of going up to Mount Washington in NH. There was a toy store in one of the towns (before the big stores moved in and before the KB Toys). That's where my brother and I each bought the jeep vehicle from that line. So yeah, we only have 2 of the jeep, stickers worn or missing, and idk if we still have all the little troops for them. Also, the mechanisms in ours are getting slow and require you to open them further by hand (and we barely activated them-kept them in vehicle mode mostly). Sorry, these particular toys are not for sale.

Besides, even if I were to sell them, given their condition, I would strongly suggest you try and find ones in far better shape (complete and/or boxed). The line is pretty small and you'd probably do better getting complete ones rigr off the bat instead of trying to piece them together since they can be hard to come by.

Drought, Smought! It seems more and more Tankers are finding Retaliation stuff today at ToysRus. Vehicles like the HISS Tank and figures like the carded Black Cobra Commander variant. Might be worth checking out.

Yes, this line is mostly garbage, especially in the first 2 waves. But since there is a major motion picture slated to come out along with a decent sized toy line about the exact property this site specializes in, I though people would care to talk about it.

Screw the GI Joe Club sub and the convention. It's overpriced garbage that costs Hasbro little more to make than the retail stuff since it's 90% repaints and 10% new tooling. $300 for a set of figures is ridiculous. That's one car payment, 1/4 of my mortgage, groceries for a month, preschool tuition for 2 months. Thanks but no thanks. GI Joe Club isn't doing me any favors. What else would you call the money paid to a preschool for your 3-5 year old? Education starts before Kindergarten, unless your child is gifted and doesn't need any assimilation to a structured classroom environment and guidance on proper interaction with his/her peers.

What were the cons like before the modern era craziness? I bought a few ARAH sets in the early 2000s but I never made it to one. I went to the Providence con a couple of years ago, general admittance Saturday afternoon, it was pretty dead. Did I just hit it at a lull?

I went to JoeCon in Providence. That was 09? A little disappointing. I'm a fan of cons and love getting autographs and meeting the creative people behind comics, film, TV etc. The guest list at the Prov Joe Con was all Hasbro toy guys - interesting to some but not to me. I wanted comic creators like Herb Trimpe, Ron Wagner from the Marvel series, voice actors from the Sunbow series, bit actors from the ROC movie that was premiering that same time. TO my surprise, Robert Atkins was there, unadvertised.

It just seemed that a con focused on GI Joe had such a narrow vision to only key in on the toy end of the property. I hear that friendships are made and that's cool. But I don't need to travel to meet people. The RI Tankers I've met are cool guys and I'm satisfied hanging with them.

I have all the figures from the 2009 Con (first modern set) and all the Python/Brazil themed figures from last year's set. Nothing else about the Club interests me. I skim the magazine and never look at it again.

Job Lot has IDW trade paperbacks for $2. They are located with the books. A friend of mine scored the GI Joe Classics Vol 9, Transformers: Spotlight, Star Wars Old Republic, Ray Park penned Snake Eyes mini, and GI Joe issues 7-12 trades for me. They mostly have the ROC prequel and Transformers, Star Trek, A-Team and Terminator junk but if you search around various stores you can find good books. I found the Worst of CC and Destro trades near me.

I know the Job Lot on Reservoir Ave and Elmwood Ave have been cleaned out.

Well there goes the Joe line with a grand applause.... Thanks HASBLO for making another bad decision (pushing the movie to March)... What a bunch of dumb asses just cause their gay movie Battleship sunk like the Titanic... Ships vs Aliens are you freakin kidding me I could tell you that was going to flop... They need to hire some of us from this board because it is clear the morons at Hasbro don't know what their doing!!

There is little foresight with regard to 3D in this movie. Why wasn't this on the table at the start of production? Post-production conversion to 3D is a crap shoot. Look at Clash of the Titans. It was one of the worst 3D conversions ever. They obviously need the time to convert to 3D because it was never originally shot with any intention to make it 3D. The movie has to be almost done since it's in the scoring phase. There are probably some minor SFX tweaks left to finish in the coming month until it's (now delayed) release.

I'm not distraught about it's delay but we've gotten all hyped up with the 10 trailers, interviews, toys, etc that this does hurt a little.

The summer is littered with blockbusters and it could have lost a ton of money in it's second week when Spider-man hits. SO March is a much safer time to have it be competitive in the box office.

So the big question is will the toys be released on May 28 as scheduled or will they be held in the back room. My guess is the initial wave of figures that are sitting in the back room will hit and the rest will be held back for the movie's release.
