Delaware Sightings Thread

I'm brand new to Delaware, New Castle in particular, and there doesn't appear to be a Delaware sightings thread. I'm not the only Delaware Tanker, am I?

At any rate, at the Wilton Blvd Target (right on Rt 40) there was more than a full case of vehicles, a few Wave 3 comic packs, a couple of Dukes w/Jetpack, and a couple of non-MASS device element Cobra Commanders.

At the Geoffrey Dr TRU in Newark, there was a full case of vehicles, a few old comic packs, and many, many, many of the TRU exclusives. There was also some Sigma Six stuff, but I didn't pay attention to what.


Any other DE tankers who'd like to network on this? Would pay to help each other out. I'm not talking about running a charity for anyone, just sharing sources, sightings, and "want lists."

I'm especially wary about being able to grab the new Target exclusives on Sept 3; I'll be at work all day and the nearest Target will be 40+ miles away.

I recently hit your state up on a hunting trip. Got most of the lower DE Wal Marts. Rohobeth Beach has a Kay Bee outlet that has VvV figures on tiny cards by the boatloads and a few 25th Joes. All your walmarts had 1 of each vehicle and DVD packs and wave 7, 8 and 9. All had Comic Packs waves 1-3 minus the Snake Eyes/SS ones. No BATs or Snow Serpents. I got a Scarlet and wave 4 Duke from Pokomoke Wal Mart.

I am looking for the new TRU SRO packs as well. I spoke to the manager of the Newark TRU on Saturday and he said they still aren't getting as much Joe product in as they want; still, as these are exclusives, when they do show up, they ought to show up in quantity. I mean, that very TRU has over a dozen of the new 5 packs.

I'm in Annapolis now. Moved from Newark in June of 1986. Went to Shue Middle (Kirkwood Hwy) and lived in Cherry Hill (near Main St) sound familiar? Wish Kiddie World was still around that place was massive.

Just got back from the show. Lots of great Joe stuff to be had.
I only had $40 on me and was able to pick up 4 V1 snow serpents (no access.) and a bunch of parts for some customs. I might need to get some more money and go back. ; )

I had a good run at the toy show this morning as well.

Picked up:

Complete Bivouac
Complete Cobra Bunker Battle Station, in box; box was beat up but all parts were in it. Stickers are no good but still a sweet item.
Complete Cobra Surveillance Port
a mostly complete Tiger Paw
loose, w/all accessories, w/out filecard: Lowlight v1, Alley Viper v1
loose, complete: Stalker v2, Spearhead&Max

Also grabbed a Super Powers Green Arrow, as I have an obsessive need to have every Green Arrow action figure ever released. And a LOTR Sam Gamgee w/frying pan from the very first series of Fellowship figs.

All for just under $100. A good day.

Target in Wilmington is selling Rise of Cobra toys, or at least they did to me. They only had the first wave of 6 figs; desert Duke, Destro, Baroness, Viper, SE, and SS. They had Steel Crusher APVs and Gunships as well as all the smaller vehicles. I grabbed 1 of each fig, 1 gunship, 1 SC.

Was just in Christiana TRU this morning- they have the new 3 packs.
Dont care about the Destro/ Vipers one but I really like the Joes, well almost.

Sgt. Stone- definitely the best figure in the pack. Repaint is awesome

Grunt- really like the camo, but wish they had used pit commando or some other arms rather than the Zartan ones with the black armband.

Speed Metal- dont get me started

Dunno how much attention anyone is paying to this thread, however, if anyone in Delaware or surrounds is looking for City Strike SE (and the rest of that wave) the Wal-Mart in New Castle is a treasure trove right now. There were at least 4-5 City Strike SE's there, a few Dukes, a half dozen of the arctic-trenchcoated Storm Shadow, Jungle Ripcord, etc.

Looks like the $3 figures are finally showing up in Family Dollars around here. The one in Milton has BATs, Snow Serpents, Battle Armor CC, Bazooka, Tripwire, Barbecue, Wraith and maybe one or two others.

The Newark TRU has put out Pursuit of Cobra single figs. I just returned from there; they had at least 4 Dukes, multiple Snake-Eyes, Storm Shadows, Fireflies, and Beachheads, only one CC left. They also had alpha vehicles out. No sign of the TRU exclusives, though.

I have checked it several times since the Island 7packs were getting reported and I have never really seen any GI Joe stuff there, its just a big old disaster. So I finally saw Wave 3 Duke & SS at Target at Christiana Mall and Dover. I guess Wave 3 has hit but someone snatched up all the Shock Troopers and Snake Eyes... These new waves are tough to find... Man our Ross is so ghetto, still been checking there recently and still nothing but vagabonds and a huge mess all over the floor with no Joe product buried in it, I dig too! Lol! ...Oh well...

as for Sandstorm/ Desert Ram i know its easy enough to make one but I'd rather have it factory. Not having a Ross up here is just one more reason to hate living in New York. I miss Delaware.

Newark TRU: 1 temple Guardian Snakes, many Dukes and Beachheads. Lots of Thor and Iron Man 2. A fair amount of Green Lantern crap (and I say CRAP emphatically, as a big DC comics fan - those toys are terrible).

Newcastle Wal-Mart: They have no Joes, no Marvel Universe. Nothing. Haven't for months.

Christiana Target: 12 Arctic Destros. TWELVE. Nothing else of note.

Yeah man I don't think the Newark Target has done a aisle reset since Christmas... Last I counted was 16 Arctic Destros so someone must have bought some or hid some! On May 3rd I too went to TRU and Crazylegs was gone just saw a ton of the new SE and Croc Masters... Sigh... I went right when they opened too so I think an employee took out all the Vipers and IGs before stocking the shelves... Like you said a million Dukes and Beachheads too! Man it has been so disappointing trying to collect Joe since the first two waves of POC! I live down state but commute up north and I hit all stores in between so I check the Dover TRU and Target frequently and they have only Arctic Destros and the toy aisles are bare like they haven't restocked since Christmas and that was almost a half a year ago! Not looking good for toys at retail much longer... I did finally get a hold of 11 shock troopers which I have scoured the entire state for since their release only to find they just restocked them on HTS so I could have avoided all that driving... sigh...

About Captain America figures, yea man I have checked TRU, Target, several Walmarts and KMart and all stores have literally like 3 figures on the pegs??? I really want the Crossbones... Along with everyone else so I am sure I'll never find him in the wild and the asking price is about $25 from the online scalpers...

At the Elkton Wal-Mart (I work in MD) I found W2 of Cap, but minus Crossbones or Red Skull. In all honesty I wouldn't worry too much about those...Marvel movie figures ALWAYS show up in huge quantities. Nothing to get worried about yet.

On the plus side, the W2 Heroic Era Captain America (or Bucky Cap) is a huge improvement over the MU version.

I think I honestly have given up on Target they haven't done much of a toy aisle reset since Christmas and new product of any kind has just trickled in over the past few months... When I was living down there I had good luck with the Elkton Walmart. I know technically it's Maryland but the Rte 40 & Prices Corner Walmarts never had anything. Have you tried the one in Middletown?

I work in North East, MD, so I actually drive past the Elkton Wal-Mart on a daily basis. However, some of my students work there and lots of them shop there and I prefer not to run into them in my off hours (though it is sometimes unavoidable).

I gave up on that store and will not even bother looking there anymore! Also I just went into Christiana TRU today and they reduced Joe down to 3 pegs at the very end of the aisle, almost didn't see them... Today was a good day! I found from Wave 6 2x Vipers and 2x Iron Grenadiers also a Low Light and Crossbones from the Captain America line! Only the second Low Light I have ever seen at retail. Crossbones fits in well with Joe stuff so he'll go in my City Strike themed diorama. Wish every time I went out I got hauls like this but I'm sure my wallet doesn't! LOL!

So no luck up there in NY??? Man the distribution of Joe product is so hit or miss around the country... I live at the beach but work in Newark so I have the opportunity to check every single possible store in the state on the regular and believe me I hit them and it's slim pickings... I have found 15 Shock Troopers but I found each one at a different Walgreens (Happy Harry's for the Delaware heads) at $11.99 a piece. What makes it's worse is most Walgreens don't even carry them but I went to every single one in the state, twice, and that's what I came up with... Got that second Low Light today at Walgreens... Kinda ridiculous it takes this much effort just to buy a product but I refuse to pay scalper prices and I still enjoy the thrill of the hunt... But that thrill is wearing thin... Found one CC and Blowtorch from Wave 5 but that's it...

I used to drive out to the Brandywine one but battling 95 and 202 traffic and been disappointed one too many times I stopped going there unless I am in that area for something else. Have you seen any more Wave 4 or 5 POC anywhere? This State is a Joe ghost town... Sad...

Blue Hen generally doesn't carry mass retail toys like 3.75" Joe. However, I'd be willing to bet that if they were asked, they'd order them for you. Might cost a bit more, but I'm sure they'd do it. And if not, only because they couldn't, not because they didn't want to. Great folks there.

I totally agree but I can tell you that I saw for my own eyes the pegs for GI Joe and Star Wars Vintage were gone and replaced. So it may not be a "Corporate" decision across the board but our TRU definitely has dropped both lines for the time being... Boo!!!

hey guys, i know I'm new so you may not trust me, but i was at christiana TRU on friday (9/2) at about 4pm and they had just opened 2 boxes of the 30th anniv joes. i got stalker and hazard and a friend got stalker and a regular viper. so that left another hazard viper up for grabs also i live over the line in PA so if you felt like going up to granite run TRU they had them on saturday. if you need proof i might still have my receipt

Found the mythical next wave of Thor movie figures at both Christiana and Brandywine Targets today. Got myself The Warriors Three - 7.99 is too much for them, if I'm being honest. The designs are seriously stellar, but the execution (stuck articulation, hopelessly bent floppy weapons) really harm them. STILL - it's the WARRIORS THREE. I couldn't pass on them.

I did get the VAMP at the Elkton one and saw both the VAMP and VTOP at the Northeast one... Northeast still has just like 3 cases of Jungle Duke, Jungle Viper and SS! Gotta strike on the right day cause it seems Walmart, or any store for that matter, gets a shipment of a Wave once and once only, if you don't get there the day they get put out you will never see them again... Finally found 2x cases of Wave 1 30th Anniversary today at TRU!!! Still haven't found POC Wave 5 and barely any Wave 6. Got 4x Vipers, 2x Steel Brigades, 2x Hazard Vipers, 2x Stalkers and 1x Cobra Trooper... Somebody grabbed the other 3x Cobra Troopers before I got there... Was most looking forward to them but I am still stoked as its been such a dry spell around here. There are 2x Stalkers and 4x IGs left as of right now. I went down to the Octoberfest Toy Show today at the Nur Temple. Always a fun time; the wife and I go in as early buyers, better pickings that way (though the sellers aren't all as desperate to off-load as they will be by 1 pm). I picked up a complete Persauder, complete Battle Bunker, $30 for the pair (two of my favorite slightly later, less realistic vehicles). Got a mostly complete Devilfish and Night Landing, as well as assorted other odds and sods of things I collect.

Christiana TRU: has been pretty consistent lately with restocking Wave 2. Glad they have the buy 2 get 1 free deal right now cause they have about 10 cases, 6 pegs full, of just the 4 Renegades guys, no 30th figures to be had... Hope these clear out for more stock soon.

They appear to be essentially a Walmart and online exclusives and since all Delaware Walmarts have officially stopped carrying Joe products and the one near the border MD one has a surplus of Wave 2 and with Christmas this week then no restocking of any toys anywhere until spring/summer I think we can kiss these figures a fond farewell! Hope you ordered cases from BBTS or HTS cause other than that it looks like we'll be shopping the ebay scalpers... I appreciate the heads up but I only collect GI Joe. While I could see myself getting into other lines again like when I was a kid my wife and wallet would greatly disapprove! LOL! Wife already gets mad when she looks at the bank account and sees TRU, Target, Walmart, etc... purchases she didn't make cause she knows the only thing I would be buying at those store is Joes! LOL! I hit every Walgreens in Northern Delaware this week and so far the 273 Community Plaza has been the only one to have any of the newer waves. Almost all Walgreens have the first four Renegades figures and a Hazard Viper here and a IG there... Thanks for the heads up although looking at the clock I see TRU just closed. Dang I am like right next store too. I haven't seen any Techno Vipers yet so hopefully they'll be there tomorrow. Yeah all Delaware Kmarts stopped with GI Joe after the ROC line like Walmart. I lived down state at the beach for two years, moved back up north 9 months ago but when I was down there I commuted up north for work so I was able to hit every store in the state with high frequency. I spoke to the managers at every Walmart and they said they all are done with GI Joe, maybe they'll get the movie line but that's uncertain too. I noticed Walmarts have done their toy aisle resets for spring/summer and none even have pegs for GI Joe so I doubt they will have the Retaliation line. All Kmarts same deal. The only way I got my fill of POC was hitting literally every single Walgreens throughout the state on my travels.

I was at the Christiana Target at roughly 10:35, 10:40...somewhere in there. They had one of each 2 pack out, a lot of single figs, a ton of cycles, 1 case of each kind of vehicles.

Elkton Walmart was totally cleaned out of figures as of yesterday afternoon. I wonder if any of these stores around us have more cases in the back or will get one or two more from their distribution centers?

Honestly i forget what day it was but the clerk was stocking the shelves and said they had just put out some GI Joe stock earlier that morning... Haven't really seen much out there but I also haven't been wasting my driving around these days either. With no new figures until next February I think this area is basically dried and done until then.

Walgreens is the only place for Joes really in years. Target, Walmart and TRU get a case at a time sporadically and someone usually ravishes it before I get there. Every once in a while I am luck enough to be first and I feel slightly bad cause I'll buy every figure and know that one one else will get a chance at that store for that wave possibly ever again. Should have to be such slim pickings at retail, it's ashame. Wish anyone could just go to a store at any given time and buy multiples of any and all figures... Ah well it can't be the 80's again I know... One can wish...

Yeah, the TRU on 58 still has Zartan and Cobra Trooper. Oddly enough, all traces of the Retaliation line have vanished from Christiana Target, and the stuff isn't even in the clearance isle. It's just gone.

Yeah I went back and saw the Zartan, in person he was pretty underwhelming so I passed. I heard that Target's nationwide were pulling all their Retaliation stock and doing an aisle reset.

Well right on Rt.1 you got Walmart, K Mart and a few Walgreens. I moved up north from that area about a year ago and there's not much Joe down there. Best find I got in Rehoboth was I found 25th foil Destro, Cobra Air Trooper and Duke still on the peg at the Super G in 2010 which was crazy. Happy Hunting!

I never saw the Dollar General figures in Delaware or Maryland. Buddy of mine who lives a few states away picked me up the set (minus CC) so I never bothered looking again.

TRU is carrying some of the new MU comic packs and has had refreshes of older waves of singles, but no new singles yet. Joes - eh, here or there. I do wish TRU would clearance the row of Skystrikers they have - at $20 I would pounce on another one. Maybe even $25

I don't know if you saw but DG is now advertising them in their circulars and they have dedicated pegs now. They should be really abundant as the Christmas shopping season quickly approaches.

I went to TRU today on my lunch break and surprise surprise they still have the same 20 Renegades CCs on the pegs. They have been lingering since last Christmas! I keep reading on here about how all TRUs are restocking many of the POC waves but ours won't cause their system shows they have a large amount on hand. Does anyone that work in retail actually look at their stock? In this instance anyone could see that these figures aren't going to move and they should send them back to corporate or however to rid themselves of stale stock and order new varied stock. Why is that concept so hard for retailers to understand? I mean if our TRU had gotten rid of these back in January and had started ordering more POC cases imagine how much they would have sold? I know I would have bought many from each case. I alone would have made that scenario profitable for them let alone you guys and any other fans and maybe just maybe kids that would have bought some all year if they had different figures on the pegs. I'll get off my soap box now...

The Hobbit figures look pretty cool but I cannot afford more than one line of figures to collect. My wife already hates my Joe buying habit as it is and I get grief every time she sees the bank statement! Doh!

FYI: Although many on the Tank are reporting finding the holy grail of POC waves (Jungle BAT, Hawk, Trooper, etc...) at Walgreen's it appears that stock is not coming to our State. Over the past two weeks I did a sweep of almost every Walgreen's this side of the Mason-Dixon line and found that 1) the ones that never carried them still aren't 2) Many that had them before now took away the pegs altogether and 3) the remainder that carry them still have the same old Renegades Scarletts and CCs they have had all year.

Which Walgreens did you find those at just curious? I have been hitting Walgreens pretty hard and finding alot of them have removed the peg and or have been empty for months. I did however find a POC Blowtorch and CC in old New Castle today. Which wave(s) did they get at TRU?

I checked Christiana Target today and nothing on the shelf. I got an employee to run the DCPI for the 3-packs and they have 6 of Wave 1 in the stock room... Any luck hunting recently? Been pretty slow lately but my wallet is happy.

Nada. The DCPI is for all the 3 packs so the online inventory check showing them in stock is pretty meaningless. I am sure they will show up plentifully on or around the 11th. The Targets and the TRU in upper De take their street dates pretty seriously in my experience.

In VA I'm seeing the same thing. Lots of nothing. I did get the 3 packs by having them pull them out of the stock room using the DCPI. However as far as singles most Targets have old wave one figures in the stock rooms. My hope is that K mart will reset soon and carry this line. Wal mart and I've only been checking one so far seems to be a complete joke. If things don't start picking up over the next week or two I'm just going to order a few offline and be done with it. What I hate is the retail price gouging going on with these GI JOES. There is no reason these things should be 9.99 each at Target and Walmart. MSRP is only ready for this 6.99! I know this because during the 30th line Msrp was 5.99 and every retailer around here was charging 9.99 plus except for Gabriel Brothers. They had them for 5.99! Trouble is Gabriel Brothers are only in the Western part of the state and they only carry toys for Easter.

I am not ready to worry yet. For example, before the street date of Retaliation the first time around, local Target and TRU were utterly barren. Not a sign of Joes to be had. Come that Monday, tons of product out. We will see, but I expect they will have the w2 and w3 stuff in short order. When it came to 25th, PoC and such, I bought everything online, usually from BBTS. But I don't have any reason to think I will have to do that with movie figures.

Yeah it appears the big retailers around us aren't going to be rolling out the red carpet so to speak for the movie line tomorrow. I'm sure the stuff will trickle in over the next couple months but I bet it'll be like always. Store will only get a sporadic case here and there but never any big stocking. Believe it or not, the New Castle Wal-Mart, usually a cess pit, had SOME stuff - W1 3 packs and the cycles. I saw nothing else, but that was last night. This afternoon I got lucky at the North East, MD, Wal-Mart. They had put out a whole case of W2/3/2.5, whatever it is. I grabbed 7 of the 12 (left SS, SE, a Battle Kata Roadblock, Flint, and something else - I can't remember. Might've been Cobra Commander?). But the point is if that Wal Mart put out figs, Elkton Wal-Mart may also do this (Elkton Wal-Mart, this morning, had W1 3 packs and cycles). So might the New Castle Wal-Mart. I think they'll show, in sufficient quantity. Not worried.

Well I checked both the New Castle and Wilmington Walmarts and still only wave 1 3-packs, motor cycles and the play set crap... Sigh... I hate both of those stores, filled with the dregs of society. Also TRU got a truck in on Wednesday and they said it was their big shipment for the month and they only got the motor cycles and play sets!! Wtf!?! Everyone keeps claiming that because it's a movie line that these figures will be plentiful but I had my doubts and my doubts are seeming to be warranted. I'm sure I'll get them eventually but it'll be a struggle like every other figure I've gotten in the past few years.

Thanks for the update. Probably won't be able to get up there for a while and I'm sure they are gone by now. I saw the Christiana Target got at least Wave 2 in as there were multiple singles of Roadblock V2 and Firefly, also several Wave 1 Roadblocks and SEs. They had Wave 1 3-packs but no Wave 2. Toys R Us still has not gotten any single carded or 3-packs in yet, only the lone peg full of Renegades CCs that have been there for a year now. Wave 1 Retaliation is also starting to show up at various Walgreens. Hopefully one day I'll find a Joe Trooper, still never saw him on the pegs.

Yeah y'alls I don't think were going to see the repaints any day soon. All 11 of the DGs in the general north east all still have series 1 in abundance. They won't order more until the pegs get cleared. I don't have any need nor the extra income to purchase all those extra figures. I have been checking the Marshalls and TJ Maxxs around the State and in PA and haven't seen a single Joe since the ROC figures like 2 years ago.
