as i open new figs, i have decided to post an "opinionated review" of each figure...this is "The Jeaux Report"

first up is Lady Jaye...

already, this premiere issue of The Jeaux Report has gone sour my fellow joes. i returned that goofy looking figure this morning to walmart...back to the pegs where she belongs.

but even though i dont own her anymore, i cannot un-see what was in that blister.

horrible facial sculpt, not an attractive
toy-woman...paint apps on the face were fine, just the overall sculpt was crap. her elbow joints were lightly sprayed leaving the base color grey showing.

i honestly didnt like this fig upon first seeing her at SDCC, (online pics, i wasnt there), but when i saw her in person, a quick glance convinced me that it may not be all that bad...after getting back from vacation, and taking a good hard look...i just couldnt do it.

so, on the 1-5 Yo Jeaux! scale...
Lady Jaye scores a NOOOO JOE!

HEAUX YOU SHOULD HAVE SOLD HER TO ME!!!!

ohwell.

i love you idea of the report! makes it less agonizing to wait for my own, and i love hearing other's opinions of these figures, both good and bad.
sounds like most of the issues you addressed with LJ are fixable (to me).
i really like this character (my favorite female joe!)
so i will get her regardless.
i can fix paint issues fairly easy.
sculpt?
pop that head off and slap on either bombstrike or GI Jane head. paint hair brown. POOF! awesome toon version of jane. (yes i realize dremeling out the neck from the donor heads will be a P.I.T.A. but i think it will be worth it)

i cant wait to get a lady jaye figure!
anyone that has one that is let down and wants to both make thier money back and make this joe collector happy, LET ME KNOW!!!!!!!!!

and Heaux, keep the reviews coming! they are great!

Nicely done....

I have to admit, I haven't seen her yet, but based on the pics....I am disappointed that they insist on keeping that damned hat on her.......

But I'll do what I've done with all the others I've picked up so far.....open 'em, look at 'em, then find a spot for 'em in the 'display only' section.....

Hey Gung.Heaux, I really like this idea. Here's my 2 cents: I actually like this figure. Sure, she looks a little odd, especially in pictures, but she has a 1940's kind of look that I dig. Plus, the figure doesn't slouch like Baroness or Scarlett. One of the two that I bought has a good paint app. (except the right glove), which is a bonus.

I look forward to the next report.

I don't like the facial sculpt or hat, either. In fact. . .I was wondering if there might be a compatible or semi-compatible Star Wars head that might look a little nicer on her body. Any ideas from Star Wars fans out there? All I know of women is Leia and Luke's mom from the prequels, and though they are both brunettes, I'm not sure that their hair styles would work.

Of course, I don't even know if the Star Wars heads are compatible, though I know they are roughly to scale, and I could adjust it a bit to fit if I needed to.

You mean it doesn't look right, or it doesn't fit, because the hole size could be made compatible, I would think. . .

I received wave 2 today from HTS, and I must say, I disagree pretty strongly with Gung Heux's sentiments regarding Lady Jaye. In fact, she is very nearly tied with Beachhead for my favorite figure of wave 2. She certainly towers over this useless piece of garbage Serpentor. The elbow joints do show a little gray, but her face is actually pretty good on the figure that I got. I think the online pics that I've seen do it an injustice. She isn't a knockout, but I think she looks significantly more like a real person than either Scarlett or Baroness, and not a bad-looking real person, either. So, maybe I'm in the minority, but I give her a solid thumbs up.

It's funny. I've seen quite a few pics like the one Ceraurus took and she looks pretty awesome.

I'm not looking for a centerfold here, just a soldier doing her job. :D
