Has anyone seen the darker, greener version we saw at JoeCon? Right now all i've seen is the yellow-colored version.

Well since Stalker is part of Wave 3 and that is just now being sighted at places. I would say give it a few weeks before seeing the "refresh" with the corrected color version.

the yellow is the first release, the darker green will be later, as a running change. How much later? who knows...

Rad. I hope this is the case, because I preordered wave 3 a little late. Sometimes it pays to be last in line. :D

I was told by a few collectors to keep the yellow Stalker carded b/c they thought it would "go up in value". Don't really care, but I don't think it will all that much as what is driving the increase in prices on the secondary market is the fact that a lot of people can't find them locally, so they turn to the 'net to purchase them.

Yeah they turn to the net b/c asshat scaplers go to every wal-mart, k-mart, tru, target in there area to buy everything so they can sell it on ebay for triple the price. I drove from the FL Keys to Tampa last night and stop at several wal-marts looking for the 25th wave 2. I saw some people taking the whole case off the the re-stock pallet to the cash reg.
I don't mean to whore this thread but this needs to be discussed. I only bought what I needed. one of every figure and three extra troopers for the second wave. no intent to "get rich" on ebay. these are for my collection. what dose someone need with five beachead figures????

That makes sence seeing as it's the first release and all, but no one wants a yellow Stalker (I grabbed one because I don't know for sure I'll find another) How many people are keeping it MOC? Probably a lot, and when you have a surplus of a certain MOC figure, you get $20 MOC 86 Hawk figures 21 years later :)

Someone may ask why do you need 3 Cobra troopers?
I'm tired of reading multiple threads all addressing the same thing. Sure, it's discouraging not find that said item you're looking for @ retail...but why should a store limit someone's purchases? If they have the money and they find the items I believe they have every right to purchase what they want.
You have every right to drive all over town "hunting" the items you want just as these scalpers do. Don't want too, then don't.
No one is forcing people to pay those secondary prices. If you don't like the prices, then don't pay them...simple as that.

I read in another board that someone found the green version Stalker today. So the hunt is on :) I found one today. The first two I encountered were the yellowish version, but I found the greener one on a road trip. I was going to keep one of the yellow ones carded and open the other one, but I'd rather open the green one, so I'll probably just return one of the others.

well, actually i agree with him.
i dont like scalper prices, so i dont buy them. so where does that leave me?... out in the cold.
without ANY figures. period.
because i dont have the luxury of buying from brick and mortar.
folks back home do, but even THEY cant get figures for themselves, let alone do me a huge favore and get some for me (some people have, and for that i am eternally greatful!)
so i see exactly where nmitchell86 is coming from.
i think 5 beach heads is a little over the top.
any honest collector shouldnt realistically need more than 3. (i know there could be extenuating circumstances, like buying one more for a buddy overseas *cough driftbot*)
why 3?
one for MOC.
another for "take it out and play with it!"
a third for custom fodder. ;)
anyone remember the scene from monty python's HOLY GRAIL? you know, with the holy hand grenade of antioch?
"the number thou shalt count is three. no more, no less.
thou shalt not count to two, and thou shalt not count to four. FIVE IS RIGHT OUT!"
i just wish it was like back in the days. before the times of ebay. when you could walk into a store, see rows and rows of joes on the pegs. so many, its hard to choose which one you wanted that week.
now, its like you have to buy one of ALL of them while you have the chance. before that SOB shows up to ruin it for everyone, especially the kids who might have gotten thier first GI Joe that day.
sorry if this is off topic, but it really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
with that said...
FRIGGIN GREEN STALKER IS OUT ALREADY?!?!!?!
GADZOOKS!!!!
bittersweet, i tell ya.
wish i could join the hunt with you fellas in the states.
good luck!!!

any honest collector shouldnt realistically need more than 3. I think it's hilarious that anyone imagines it's his business how someone else spends his money. An "honest" collector? Did the American economy abandon capitalism while I was sleeping?
