I'm in Waterloo and haven't found anything beyond Wave 1 and the five packs. It would help if either Wal-Mart in the area actually carried the figures at all though. There was some Wave 1 (Cobra Commander, Two Snake-Eyes-white Timber) at Target last night. They could be the remains from a Wave 2 case from what I've heard though. I'm not used to having to look for Joes so hard. I found VvV Wave 6 here with little or no problem even.

hey man, email me sometime. i have no problem grabbing what i see for you when i'm out and about. i have never actually met anyone in the area that collected gi joes alot, just real casual collectors.
I cleaned out the target of wave 3 last week. another friend of mine got the wave 2 set there the week before that. i haven't seen any wave 2 in the area at all since then (he left me an officer)
I have found most of my stuff in CR though.
Waterloo's walmarts don't even have spots for them, nor does waverly, or independence.

I'm strangely glad to hear that Waverly nor Indendence have them, because I haven't been driving there to check them. Cedar Rapids is usually the place to find new joes though. I was down there the second week after Wave 2 came out, but didn't find anything. Both their Walmarts had the pegs set up though at least. The only place I have found 25th joes in Waterloo is K-Mart by Hobby Lobby, Target and Toys 'R Us and only Wave 1 mind you.

was in Cedar Rapids yesterday, and cleaned out every store I found the new comic packs in. Cleaned out every blueshirt I found, and I found the fixed crotch Hawk at the Lindale area KMart.
No wave 4 or 5 was seen anywhere, mostly just revision cases. Wal Mart's are the only stores that had the comic packs.

On another note, both Waverly and Independence carry singles and comic packs now if anybody is around those stores.

Thats about the same for me, I had so many joe toys when I was a kid, but my mom sold them all at garage sales when i became disinterested in them. Then since about 3 or 4 years ago, I've had to completely rebuild my collection... I just keep telling the wife, it's all for our kids someday. Right, That never works!

I guess I got lucky. My mom didn't touch most of our stuff. We would shove it all in cardboard boxes and plastic totes and mom just let it sit in the basement (my room) and collect dust. Granted most of it was junk from seeing too many civil wars.

BTW. Haven't seen much of anything new here in Des Moines. Noticed that a lot of pegs have been filled, but with stuff I have or don't want. Maybe soon I'll see some vipers.

Saw all three Target exclusive vehicles at Urbandale Target off exit 141, but nothing at the Target off of Mills Civic Pkwy. Nothing at K-Mart @ Easton and Hubbell except a Sigma 6 Dojo train SE.

I found all the Target exclusives between Merle hay and southridge Targets, southside toys R us had the G.I. joe 3 pack and the blue cobra 3 pack, about a week ago. If you collect vintage stuff, I have a buddy who sells Joe stuff at the fairgrounds flea market once a month. All the wal-marts just have filler waves! thanks for telling me about the K-marts, undoubtedly I would have checked the eventually... Whou do you think will be the first stores to carry the vehicles and wave 7?

I've had to scale back my collecting of late. It's getting a little spendy and the budget has no room to spare. The only figs I'm looking for currently are 25th vipers, and I expect Target to have them first, but I don't think they have even come in on a truck yet.

Not this weekend, but next weekend is the next flea market, its usually the first weekend of every month. the guy is prices his stuff pretty reasonably, and is always in the mood to deal if you spend some money. hes also got all kinds of starwars and transformers stuff. and is also willing to trade, which is cool.

Southside walmart just got a truck in. Theyre pegs are completely full all the way up to wave 6... so unless they sell down, there isn't gonna be any room for wave 7.

the flea market I was refering to, is at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in the 4-H building. The guy has lots of vintage stuff and some VvV stuff, but not much. I dont think he as anything of the 25th. The guy also sells vintage transformers, star wars, wrestling and various other figures and vehicles. He's reasonably priced, but his stuff isn't always complete. but what he does have is in good condition. He's usually towards the back...

Yesterday at around 5pm, the 8th Street Wal-Mart in Des Moines had about four cases of the Wave 7 as well as a few leftovers from earlier waves. The four to six pegs they were on were completely full/overflowing. I grabbed one set for myself, but figured I'd give you guys a heads up, hopefully before the scalpers buy them all up!

They also had two full pegs worth of every one of the comic packs currently available.

yeah, he usually brings alot more... but appearantly he's selling more stuff on Ebay now, because he hasn't had the luck of moving it through the flea market... but he does have alot of stuff at his house. i've bought a ton of stuff from him in the past. and he's always been really fair and reasonable (and like you said, you don't have to pay shipping!!!)

I was in Centerville, Ottumwa, Knoxville, and Pella today, and did not see even one solitary wave 7 fig. I did see a Wallyworld that was in the beginning stages of rearranging the action figure aisle. If one is doing that maybe others will as well, and maybe a restock with new stuff is on the horizon. he-he-he. Or maybe they were just rearranging everything to screw with our heads. AHHHH!!!

Looks like Wave 8 has been sighted already! I wonder how long it will take them to get to our area? I was at the 8th St Walmart, and their pegs are completely full of older waves. I think there was some mention about a "filler" wave coming out...this must be it. They also have about thirty or forty comic 2-packs, so it'll be a while until we catch the Wave 4 comic 2-packs, I'd assume.

We can always hold out hope for Target, though!

I found wave 8 this morning at the Wal-Mart off I-29 this morning. They must have gotten two cases. I just got Flint, Roadblock, Cobra Commander, Major Bludd and Baroness. There was another full set there, and two Python Patrol soliders, which I just cannot stand.

I have to go to Des Moines next week, the Toy R US in Council Bluffs didn't have any of the three packs. Are they still around in Des Moines either on the south side or West Des Moines? I really want to get Grunt.

I usually do the whole "grab Buzzer, scan him and see if there are any figures in the storeroom" thing. So far, no dice. I'm not sure if they wait until all of the figures are gone to order more or what. Seems logical that they'd want to carry the same product as Wal-Mart to be competitive, but maybe they're concentrating on other toys, like the Indiana Jones figures. I don't think I've even seen a Wave 7 at Target yet. Normally, it's one Buzzer, one Cobra Commander and fifteen old Comic Packs. Ugh...

A little information for those of us in Des Moines searching for the Wave 2 vehicles that have been sighted recently at K-Mart stores around the country...

Just called the one in Urbandale and talked to the toy department manager. I gave him the UPC number for the vehicles and he said they are NOT currently on an "active order". So he didn't figure they'd be getting any in their store for at least three or four weeks. He wasn't absolutely positive that they wouldn't, though.

You said it.It looks like Walmart is scared to death of the Single GI Joe figures.There wasa picture on Toynewsi of in endcap full of the wave that had Snowjob,IG Drestro,and Flesh.That will never happen at our Walmarts.It looks like the vehicles are being sent to certain stores for test market.There are only a hand full of reports of them being found at Kmart.I am suprised that Walmart or Target(TRU for that matter)haven't gotten them yet.

Found a HUGE stock pile of Snow Job, Crimson Guard, IG Destro and Air Trooper at the South Side WM on monday... so maybe there is hope that things will blow up after the Con this weekend!

Also, I've had a preorder at BBTS for Wave 7 and I've seen them all (Jet Pack Duke, WB, Snake, Viper, Spirit) at various spots this weekend but no HISS Driver. If anyone sees this guy let me know...I would rather buy the wave at TRU, Target, WM at this point since I preordered back in April. They just keep pushing it back each month.

Has anyone seen wave 9 in the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area? I've checked Wal-Mart, Target, etc. and all I have been finding (much like the rest of you) are old comic packs and some wave 8 CC w/mass device figs warming the pegs.
I was in Dubuque for a family thing last weekend and the Wal-Mart there was overloaded with wave 4 figs (at least six of each individual fig), but nothing else. Apparently they have been sitting there for quite a while.

Even though I'm not able to keep collecting, I've been trying to keep my eyes open all over the place for those pesky wave 8, 9 and wave 4 comic packs. I have not seen anything new in over a month. I'm beginning to wonder if Des Moines has fallen off the Hasbro radar.

I picked up some wave 9 at Target in Cedar Rapids earlier today. I was able to get Hawk, Barbecue, Bazooka and the Lt. Torpedo re-issue; someone got to the B.A.T.S and Snow Serpents before I did, though.

Also checked out WM and TRU, but there was nothing but wave 7 at WM and Buzzer and Serpentor peg warmers at TRU. Still no wave 4 comic packs.

Also, the figs at Target were still 6.88. If they are changing the price to 7.99, at least it hasn't happened in CR/IC yet.

Sorry about that. Yeah, it was the Super Target on Edgewood. I stopped in at around 6:00 pm and was able to snag the last Hawk, Barbecue, Bazooka and Lt. Torpedo. The Wild Bill re-issue was there too, but I had him from the previous wave so I just left him there.

Hopefully this means wave 9 will start showing up everywhere else pretty soon. Hope this helps.

Just found all four Wave 2 vehicle packs at the 8th Street Wal Mart in Des Moines on Thursday night. Pulled my four right off the pallet. I think they were marked GI Joe 3 3/4 Vehicles Wave 1 08 or something. They had three cases (four vehicles sets each) at the store.

In case there are any Transformers collectors in Iowa, I should let you know I also picked up the three Transformers Universe Classics Series figures that just came out as well at that store (Sunstreaker, Prowl and Tankor).

And yet...no Wave 9 nor Wave 4 comic packs found.

I just saw what appeared to be the "leftovers" from a case of Wave 9 figures at the Mills Civic Parkway Target in Des Moines last night. They had a Wild Bill and Torpedo with the different logo on the top right corner (not 25th Anniversary). I think these two figures make up a case with the other six new ones, which apparently had already been snagged. Perhaps one of you lucky dogs got 'em?

Thats what I started doing. I dont hit the Quad Cities up so much anymore so I never even saw wave 7 or 8 on pegs or the wave 4 CPs. I did find wave 9 though. I even ordered the vehicles from Smalljoes so I wouldnt need to worry about them.

BTW, I found new TFs. I picked up the Universe deluxes and saw the leader class Animated and some other Animated crap but I have no desire for them.

What's a good place to order online at a reasonable cost? I know BBTS jacks their prices up a few bucks on each figure plus the cost of shipping, but with gas prices what they are, it'd almost be worth it to order online as opposed to drive all over the city hopelessly looking for figures that might not ever appear on the pegs. Frustrating, to say the least. HasbroToyShop.com occasionally has the figures in stock, but it seems pretty rare. Plus, they're about a month behind the general release date in terms of their shipping estimates.

BBTS is probably the best place espcially if you order by the set or the case. Smalljoes is pretty reasonable on their sets but they dont stay in stock long enough. I ordered the vehicles off of there for 65 plus shipping compared to 60 plus tax and gas if I actually found them in a store. Brian's Toys has some deals like I got wave 4 CPs for 35 but they have the vehicles at 30 a peice which is way over-priced. The one good thing about BBTS and Brians Toys is that I usually get my packages the day after I order because neither is that far and the UPS travels fast and I dont even pay for next day shipping. Those are the 3 web sites I deal with the most

I've only used BBTS and Hasbro Toy Shop...BBTS is good but prices are higher for sure...I FINALLY received my wave 7 set via UPS today and I think it averaged out with shipping to be $7.40 per figure...which is still better than Target and driving all over DSM. Plus, if you live in IA with all the driving around you have to start asking "What is my time worth?"

I ran into the local Hasbro rep at the 8th Street Wal Mart during lunch today while she was stocking some toys (no GI Joes, unfortunately). I asked her when she thought they'd be getting the Wave 4 comics and Wave 9 figures. She called her contact at Hasbro, who told her they wouldn't be actively stocking anything until 2009 when the movie comes out. I'm thinking this has to be wrong, because we all know there is at least one more wave of figures, vehicles and comic packs before 2008 is over. I'm going to chalk this up to "the rep doesn't know what she's talking about" and hope somebody gets something in soon.

Thought I'd pass along that bit of info, though.

UPDATE: Target still disappoints...

Target across from Valley West Mall seems to have some Joe shrinkage as well...1 wave 8 CC and a handful of wave 1 comic packs...only 3 pegs to display thanks to Indy.

Wal-Mart off of 8th has a whole bunch of comic packs...just not the ones everyone is looking for Wave 4...they have a handful of Wave 7 SE and Vipers

Wal-Mart in West DSM was actually closed today due to some sort of power failure/electrical fire. Should be open again tomorrow.

Target off of Mills Civic: some old comic packs and some Wave 7 figs...Wild Bill for sure.

I picked up three of the six new figures in Wave 9 Saturday night at the Merle Hay Mall Target. Grabbed Barbeque, Ninja-Ku and Bazooka. I checked a few other Target stores in the area, but didn't find the other three on the pegs or in the stockroom.

I found all three Wave 4 comic packs (FINALLY) at the Merle Hay Target as well. I took one of each and left at least two of each on the pegs.

Last night after work I stopped by a couple of places in the DSM area and on a whim went to the 8th St Wal-mart. Picked up a wave 1 HISS and VAMP! Score one for Des Moines...maybe the rest will follow (given what seems to be a good three week delay in relation to the rest of the country).

I've also noticed that most places have the 12" Joes which are averaging about $15 (just in case anyone is interested...none for me thank you)

This may or may not be old news for some of you (I know it has been discussed in other threads) but I checked out Target across from Valley West Mall and they have moved the Joes to a different aisle...and from the looks of it, they are getting ready for the re-set. They don't have a lot out right now but they have it set up for 3 pegs dedicated to the 12" Joes...3 pegs for Comic Packs and 6 (that's right, 6) pegs for single carded Joes. They also have "battle pack" space set up for $19.94?" (I can't remember the exact figure) The point here is that they have dedicated A LOT of room for Joes!

So I think things are about ready to pick up here in the DSM area.

I just caught that "reset" today at the same Target during my lunch break. I checked the scanner to see if they had any single cards in the back, and it said they didn't.

Speaking of which, did you also happen to see the little disclaimer note posted in that area (I think in the Transformers section) saying something like, "our employees will not search the stockroom for items which are not on the shelves" and "we want all guests have an equal opportunity to get highly sought-after items". That's not ver batim, but it's basically telling all of us collectors that we have to wait just like everybody else. That includes those card-bending, snot-blowing, ankle-biting three year olds.

I live closest to the Merle Hay Mall Target. That was the first place I found the first wave of Transformers Movie toys last summer, but they've been dropping the ball on the GI Joe front. Plus, they're like a buck more than Wal-Mart on the single cards now. Honestly, I'd rather pay the extra buck than spend time wading through the interesting folks who roam the aisles of Wal-Mart.

Try the Target on the SW side of CR for the DVD packs there were 2 of each there a coiuple days ago. I decided to wait a bit on these...

I was in my hometown of Clinton, Iowa over the weekend. Both Target and Wal-Mart were doing a toy aisle reset, so the pegs were completely bare. I have to assume they'll be stocking them up soon, if they aren't stocked already.

Also, a little store called "Paul's Discount" had the vehicle packs in stock. In fact, they had the new Star Wars toys out Friday morning and I don't think those were supposed to be on the shelves until Saturday.

As a kid, Paul's was the place I'd go for all of the newest Hasbro WWF figures, but as time went by, they kind of fell off the radar and were replaced by Target, K-Mart and most recently Wal-Mart. It was nice to see them still holding their own in Clinton!!

Anyway, I'm guessing not many people think about that store, so it might be worth a read trip for any of the Davenport or Dubuque area Tankers.

Forgot to post this - on Saturday I found all of wave 9 plus all of Comic packs wave 5, both DVD sets, and all the vehicle 2-packs. I only bought all of wave 9 (2 snow serpents for me and 2 more BarBQ's for my sons, a General Hawk for one son and 2 more Ninja Kus for both as well) I left tons on the pegs...and I scooped up the 3 Comic packs...I already have 2 of the 4 vehicle packs...and DVD packs are warming the shelves so I can fit them in later. Cedar Rapids HAD tons of wave 9 on Saturday...

I did see all of wave 9 today at Wal-Mart . . . . in Creston!?!?! I anyone wants to take the hour+ drive they had two bats and two snow serpents and I had no money. Sorry guys. I would have been more than willing to help a brother out if I had been able to.

I finally picked up a BAT and a Snow Serpent yesterday at the Mills Civic Parkway Super Target in West Des Moines. They had what appeared to be two cases of Wave 9 out on the shelves. There was one BAT and one Snow Serpent left as well as at least one of each of the other figures in the wave, FYI.

No Wave 5 comic packs there, though.

This really isn't a sighting, but I picked up a 1986 Fridge, complete with filecard, on eBay. It was actually sold by a friend of mine who lives in Ankeny. He has about 100 GI Joe figures and 20-30 vehicles from 1985ish through 1990 or so which he's currently piecing together and will be selling on eBay. He also has a load of vintage Star Wars figures, most of which are complete with their card.

Saw some pretty good stuff today. All four vehicles at Wally World Mills Civic Parkway including a Hiss Tank Driver single carded, BAT at Urbandale Target, several Ninja Ku (which I gotta admit I don't much care for). I'll keep looking where I can.

Anybody on here collect the new Transformers Universe Classics line? I'm trying to find the newer series (Silverbolt, Blades, Dropshot) and haven't had any luck. Looks like most people are finding them at Target stores. Figured I'd ask.

Nothing here either...I still haven't seen the new comic packs in the DSM area. I'm guessing September as well. I think a good rule of thumb is that we're about 2 weeks later in getting what everyone has.

Picked up SS and BAT at TRU in Clive...left the rest of the wave there...they did have TF Flint, Rock & Roll, Artic SE & Cartoon Baroness. Nice to know that TRU is trying to catch up even though there was only one set of wave 9. First time I've seen a BAT and SS in the wild.

If anybody is collecting the Transformers: Classics (Universe) figures, the Southside TRU in Des Moines has the TRU-exclusive Unicron figure in stock. I picked one up yesterday and left three on the shelves. They also had a few Acid Storm and Galvatron figures, FYI.

Didn't see the new Senior Ranking Officers GI Joe packs, though.

Target on the Southside has limited availability on both the Conquest and the Rattler right now! Picked mine up today @ Urbandale Target! I got both planes and let another guy take the other two...thought it was one of you guys...but I quickly found out it wasn't.

He thanked me for letting him have the other two and not "going psycho on him! kinda made me laugh a bit. I told him that there would be enough to go around.
