I've been meaning to do this for a while. I had an extra Cobra Firefly who's head went on to become Beach Head (http://www.hisstank.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1479). I also had an extra Lockdown who's body went on to become a Viper (http://www.hisstank.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1383).

So I'm taking Lockdown's spare head and the spare Cobra Firefly body and I'm going to make Blowtorch.

Update!

After many many revisions to my original idea of making Blowtorch, I finally got to painting.

This one has been quite difficult for me mainly because I didn't want the figure to be just red and yellow like the original one was. So I decided to keep the leg and arm guards silver. That will also help prevent friction on the paint when the gauntlets are put on.

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d110/razerwire/GI%20Joe/S6/Blowtorch/02.jpg

So far I painted the mask, neck, left shoulder, hair and eyebrows, and the leg and arm guard detailing. I also shaved off the Cobra emblems on the shoulders and belt buckle which turned out to be a royal pain.

Next I'll be painting the other shoulder, upping the silver on the chest, and paint the pocket vest red on the chest.

The next major tackling after that will be the camo pants. I plan on keeping the design but with red and yellow instead of that black and gray.

After that it will just be mainly detailing the accessories.

And a side note, I'm glad I did the face mask the way it was because my wife said if it was the other way, I'd be making Iron Man. *WHEW*

Oh and another note, painting with yellow? PAIN!

Man those customs are beyond cool in my opinion. I showed my son and he's preping some of his doubles as we speak, (now I got to run to Fred's dept store to pick up those firefly figures I say so my son can mod him some sweet customs.

The watergun that came with Toxic zartan would make a nice flamethrower.Maybe i need to stop second guessing myself and just make the jump into customs.I've had this one fig. i have been staring at for months...fear of messing him up has stopped me form touching him.

Update!

Primed the right shoulder and abs for painting, painted the mouth vents on the mask, and detailed the hands, elbow guards, and shin guards.

I'm probably gonna paint the tops of the elbow and knee guards red, right above the yellow zigzag pattern.

Heh.

This one's taking longer because of all the detailing. I still need to paint his flamethrower/torch thing.

Update!

Detailed the chest pocket vest and did the first coat of camo on the pants.

Just need to do a coat or two more on the camo pants and it should be done. Oh and I'm thinking about detailing his sunglasses.

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d110/razerwire/GI%20Joe/S6/Blowtorch/07.jpg

Oh, I've also decided not to paint his flamethrower. I was gonna paint it yellow and red but decided that would be too much.

Update!

Painted the sunglasses and finished touching up all the areas that needed touching up.

So now just waiting for the paint to dry. Then I'm going to reassemble and put on the clear coat.

Teaser pic!

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d110/razerwire/GI%20Joe/S6/Blowtorch/09.jpg

Still need to clear coat him, wait for it to dry, and then put all the accessories on.

I had to do some supergluing as well. Apparently when the head was attached fully, the neck pretty much disappeared entirely. So I ended up peggin his head halfway and supergluing it.
