Ninja-Ku is a complete repaint of the Storm Shadow that originally came in the first Cobra 5 pack. He’s representative of the 80’s Argentina figure of the same name. Just like the original he’s dressed in black with gold highlights. Ninja-Ku comes with a Bow, Dagger, Long Sword, Short Sword, Backpack/Sword Sheaths and a Cobra Stand.

Ninja-Ku is a great nod for the international collectors or can be used as a generic ninja in any display.

Figure Rating: 7 out of 10

When I get him, he will be a "generic Ninja" in my collection. I also hope to get a "Ninja Viper" at some point, so that I can have, at least, blue, black, and red "generic ninjas." I would love to get a green, orange, purple, yellow, etc. ninja at some point, too. Cheap and easy 5 pack repaint idea, Hasbro!!

I might buy this, the Storm Shadow mold is one of the best and this figure can be a dual army builder/homage. Not bad for a figure that can pass for a generic ninja. I was hesitant at first, but I might give this figure a chance, I don't have many generic ninjas in black.

i thought he was a night version of storm shadow, why would you build him then. the info on him says hes storm shadow in a night suit, to me thats not a army builder. thats what stops me from buildin him. if he was in the status of a red ninja then i would, if someone can show me different that he aint storm shadow in a black suit then i will build him

I got this guy yesterday with the rest of wave 9, he is a clever repaint... but I think they should have made "Ninja-ku" a new character instead of SS again.
And he should have definately come with nunchaku!!

I LOVE the international guys so Im definately getting a few.

I only wish they would have colored his skin darker like the original

and named him properly as ninja-ku, I mean WHY go to all the trouble of getting the international logo on the card, putting the words Ninja-ku on the packaging, doing an paint job that matches the original then screwing up the name and skin color and they do this again on Pilot scarlett/ GLenda!

why hasbro why!

I paint over the name for an all black stand-they are the black ninjas of the Arashikage clan to me.

The red ninjas are an offshoot that work for cobra in my joeverse.

...plus i love customizing them!

Yeah, in the comic the Arashikage Clan were seen in all black when Snake Eyes was trainig with the Clan, so they would fit well into some type of dio showing SE and Storm Shadow in their Ninja training days. Plus for those who have problems painting the other versions of the mold in black, this is perfect.

You'd have to paint over the Cobra logo then at least right?

I've been told a dab of acetone(or something similar) can wipe that off(although I haven't tried it yet). But painting over the emblem is easier than painting the joints, where paint tends to rub off when you move the joints, those were my issues when I painted white SS's black.

if you paint over the gold and emblem with a Tamiya Flat black its almost seamless, check it out:

I just wish they would have left of the gold trim and made the weapons silver and black not gold and black. I still bought one though.

Little bit of Silver paint fixes that up good ;)

plus its nice to have all black handles-its also cool to paint the blades black (true ninja style-they sometimes did that to hide the reflections and light hitting the blade)
