Sick and tired of wasting GAS looking everywhere for GI Joe stuff?

I propose that we form a group that looks out for each other.

We each make a list of our wants/needs and if one of us in the group finds it, we call/text that person to verify they want it and we buy it for that person and later make the exchange.

Granted there are some risks involved here - like what if the person later flakes out? Well, I figure most places have a 30-day return policy and assuming you didn't mess with the item (which you shouldn't have anyway) then you should be OK to return it.

Maybe we can even form "quadrants" of coverage - meaning you will only have to scope out places nearest to you - Toys R US, Walmart, Target, etc. I mean that's the point right, to save time and GAS.

My zone for example is the West Kendall area, meaning I have easy access to Kmart (SW 140th AVE), Target (SW 147th Ave), Walmart (SW 157th Ave), and Toys R US (SW 117th AVE) all on KENDALL Drive.

I also propose a "no-hoarding" rule - I will not buy you more than ONE item of what you seek. Be Nice.

The tank looks like one of the Target Hiss's with a red Canopy from the Crimson Sabotage tank on it. That entire box is a complete repack from the Tank to the figure, I would take it back and get your money back.

I went screaming this morning to the Wally World in Doral on NW 87th Ave - I finally scored a BBQ and Snow Serpent.

They still have plenty of the rest of Wave 9 R2 (BBQ, Snow Serpent, Ninja Ku, Gen Hawk, & Bazooka) - however there were NO BATS unfortunately. Its my last figure left to obtain for Wave 9.

Toys R Us in Altamonte got hit with the revision. Artic Snake Eyes and Hooded CC are stuffed on the shelves IN FRONT of pegwarmers TF Flint and Buzzer. I did score a Gen. Hawk. He's rather hard to find here...

A TRU employee tried to pawn a Roadblock and TF Flint on me...told him mark it to $1 and I'll take some. He just walked away....sadly I broke my own rule and bought the SWL Droid Factory Obi Wan Kenobi (in armor).

Walmart.com has gone to hell. I used to buy off it ALOT but they cut down on the shipping material. A DVD would come in a padded envelope. And now they come in bags or sealed cardboard paper. I had a DVD come and the box was smashed. When I bought it, it went out of stock and out of print so I couldnt get an exchange. I ended up taking the 3 DVD set and putting it in 3 DVD cases. I am still pissed about it.

Store pick up is worse. Stuff comes in on huge pallets of randomly packed crap normally with a sticker saying a .com product is inside. The crap will normally be crushed if its small.

Best thing to do, search ebay for newly listed GI Joe items and see if theres a Buy It Now! or check HissTank. I love HT now....

What made me laught and I told Todd, who works there this, that I wanted the SW Evolutions Force Unleashed Darth Vader's Apprentive set. They had it for $29.99. Thats double retail. So I went on Habsro.com and bought it for retail.

I asked him why some of the SW figures are $9.99 to $19.99, he said because theyre harder to find.

The Target by Dadeland Mall had 2 Rattlers & 1 Conquest this morning.

A Target kind of in my area had the jets listed as available.So I called and sure enough they only have one of each in stock.I asked the lady in guest services if she she could hold them until I got there.She said "I'm assuming your a collector and we are NOT allowd to hold collectibles for collectors" I said well maybe I have a son that really enjoys Gi Joe and would like to get the planes.She told me No and if I live so far away then I better hurry cause those are th last ones.I'm hoping some TArgets by my house get them in.No way am I going to waste gas to go there with my luck being the way it has been lately.What a bunch of shit.

I called a couple different stores to find out what the deal is.I was told each store manager has different policies for their stores.That some stores have more problems with scalpers then others.It's BS for sure and I was super nice like I always am.I hope my more local Targets get these in.I am glad a lot of fellow tankers' are getting them.That's the on thing great about this board (especially FL crew) is that everyone looks out for each other.So I'm going to continue to hunt and if I am not successful I'm sure someone will help out.

Casselberry Target has 1 conquest, a whole case of the revised wave 9, bat, snow serpent, flash and major bludd, and a whole set of the new marvel ledgends and the wolverine var. Wow! These things are all over Florida right now. Every search I do (Tampa, S. Florida, N. Florida) shows at least one Target within a 10-15 mile area as having them in stock. The real question now is for how long. And mutt, were you looking for 2 Rattlers for your SDCC Silver Destro? BTW I picked up my second set this morning in Gainesville. The Target site is extremely accurate as now it says they are 'Out of Stock'.

OK, since yesterday, I have gone to the following Targets in Miami looking for the jets:

Dadeland, West Kendall, Cutler Ridge, Bird Road+Palmetto, and even had my brother check Super Target in Miramar.

ALL GONE. Only thing left is the price sticker on the bottom shelf mocking you - "GI JOE LARGE VEHICLE - $24.99" - which I assume where they were.

When I was at Dadeland earlier today, as I was leaving the aisle, saw another poor soul like me running into the aisle and staring at the vehicles... no surprise what he was looking for also.

Alright, hoarders, I give up. I am waving the white flag.

The only comical thing is that I saw that Target put back the HISS Tank I had returned with the Cobra Viper figure. ha.

Make note that those links that show you stock at a Target store - I found out its unreliable. I checked early this morning that the Miami/Cutler Ridge location was showing stock for both the Rattler and X-30 where all others in the area are not.

I RAN over there and was the very first person in the store at 8:00am - And of course there were NONE. I even went to customer service to ask and they gave me the run-around - "if you don't see them on the shelf, then we have none."

I got mine too. If it wasn't for that abrupt inventory status showing so many stores as "available" compared to yesterday morning showing "not available" I would have never gone - I too finally scored on my first Target hit, although I was planning on hitting the 4 closest to me.

There were 2 left, one Rattler and one X-30 at the West Kendall Target (SW 150th AVE & Kendall Drive).

There were no more left - don't waste your gas!

Yes and Yes - you are correct. I expect HORRORS when this gets in - I actually got burned once already when I ordered the shipwreck/Copperhead 2-pack.

When I went to pick it up, it was still in the box their warehouse had sent it in... and from the instant I saw it i knew it was too small - when the the person opened it up, it was totally CRUNCHED and bent in half to make it fit in the box.

Of course I got a refund but the employee was kind of irritated that I didn't take it in that condition. (?)

Checked 3 wal-marts lastnight and saw a guy checking out joes at turkey lake rd and then found crimson guards,IG destro,snake eyes spirit,TF flint,PP trooper,mass CC and wild bill in 9 found cases at 2 other wal-marts. This was around midnight 1 am. All revision cases.

Oh yeah. I also saw the same guy walking out of wal-mart empty handed. And i left all the revisons. I have all of them on 25th cards.

I spent the weekend in Daytona and visited everything... There were several of the new cards repackaged. I picked up IG Destro and SE V1. I passed on Flash & Crimson Guard. I left a gold-head Destro & IG comic pack on the hook. I saw Rattlers & Conquests (left on the shelf)... sorry PRIME... I had no way to contact you to see if you already had them.

Sorry to hear that. I was divorced four years ago, it was a mess and hard but the Cliche of being stronger and getting through it was never more real.

Now I am as happy as can be, dating a younger woman who supports by hobby and passions. Life could not be better!

1. Have a hisstank group meet at my house on an upcoming weekend. We can take a vote for the date to try and get as many people as possible to make it.

Yeah it is a good drive. I got family in clearwater. I suggest that you guys car pool to save on gas. If anyone wants to host the next one down that area the Orlando crew would def come down. So its really up to you guys. As far as what are we going to do... well basically just hang out, get to know each other a little better, put faces to screen names, buy/sell/trade/show off joes, maybe eat something, I got a pool table, dart board, wii and ps3, joe cartoons, so i think we should be able to keep ourselves entertained for a few hours.

Deltona? Thats about 50 minutes from me. Being as I work weekends then driving there with gas nearly $4 a gallon here in Casselberry, I cannot do that. I wont even drive to DeLand for my uncle's house warming party.

Sadly we cannot get a nice suite at a hotel with a conference room, pop in some Joe DVDs, get drunk, trade Joes and hit the continental breakfast the next day in a hung over state....

I live in Casselberry and I worked in Deltona today and it took me about 30 min. to get there in 7:30am traffic. Wataru's idea isn't bad either but it would be more expensive and alot of the 'tankers are family men and I'm sure it would be a hard sell to the Mrs. that we're gonna be out all night boozin' and tradin' joes. ; -()

I agree that Deltona is a long haul from Tampa/Melbourne and alot of other places but Mutt is the only one I've seen so far on this forum that has volunteered to host a get-together and I applaud him for it. If driving to Deltona is out of the question than how about someone else be willing to hold the meet at their home or at least be willing to arrange a public meet somewhere?

I know if one of you Tampa or Melbourne 'tankers decides to hold a meet-up, Swafus will definitely be their!
