Man I’m a little mad today. I called the TRU on East colonial and the one in Altamonte. The one on Colonial told me they had a full set of vehicles and 2 others, I told them to hold them all since I have 2 other friends looking for them also. When I got there, there were 2 on the floor, the HISS and the Armadillo vs Air Chariot. I saw a girl with a full set on her cart, I paid no mind I figured maybe they found another box or something, when I got to the register and ask for what they set aside for me, no one could find it. That of course was not enough, I when I talked to the one on Altamonte they told me they had a HISS, when I got her the same thing, no one could find it. Man what I was angry about was wasting my time going all the way out there after they said they had them. I know maybe when I called they had them on the computer and that person got them before I got there… that’s only possible if they were about there just walking around for over an hour and a half, possible but still.

Anyway meeting up would be cool

I just got back from wal-marl on turkey lake rd and they had 4 or 5 boxes of vehicles. This was around 11pm saturday. No single figs. MY girl bought me a hiss. I have a vamp and troubble bubble already.

To be more specific guys, there was a Bazooka & Hawk left. The cards/bubbles are totaled, but I didn't know if you guys wanted them, ESPECIALLY since Bazooka is favored for the Sgt. Slaughter recipe.
I wish there'd been BATs or Snow Serpents, but either the two I found were what was left over, or somebody returned them there after crushing them on purpose. It at least gives me hope that I may find them locally soon enough.

There's also some other issues, but I guess needless to say, I do not like them at all.
Currently, my favored places for finding stuff is Docking Bay 94 (on Orange Ave.) and 50 Million Toys (at Flea World). Both give great trade-in value, have decent prices and have treated me right.

I dont have anything against them at all. I do like the place but im always looking for other places to shop. I also have been to the shop at the sanford flea world. Todd at Acme has been very fair as far as prices goes. 50 Million Toys is the bomb. Some years ago there was a store in Casselberry near the corner of red bug and 436 and it was called Whiz Bang! They had a lot of Joes back then. Then after it closed, Richie the manager opened up Far Point and when he got together with Jack (Whiz Bang's GI Joe guru) they had some good GI Joe stuff. They just recently closed their doors but Jack still has a website called

Plus, I ended up with the almost complete Tomahawk that they had and I only ended up paying $20 for it after my trade ins! I still have 3 MOC Docs and 1 loose so it was well worth it.

I'm sorry, but they will have to cater to an angry Charlotte.I.Joe when I go into complain. How cant they tell someone that they are a collector and a toy is not for a kid.

What does someone need to do carry wallet pics around for proof of kid. They can't tell me they have something and deny it to the next guy.

So i get there and the lady said they cant sell them to me because the isle is not set for them. But i was told over the phone i can buy them. We cant she says becuse its not august. Im like what. There is not a date on the box that says "Not till august" And she keeps going on about selling to collectors and i said im not and just want them.

They made me drive 30 miles to say no sale. They should have told me that over the phone lastnight. Im going to boycot target completly

On the issue of pulling items from the pallet at WM. I was talking with a toy dept. manager at one of our local WMs in Jacksonville yesterday and she informed me that it is their policy to prohibit customers from pulling merchandise from freight (e.g. off the pallets). She said the cashiers are not even supposed to ring up items if they're in a shipping box. She went on to tell me that she's actually had customers stand next to the pallet and demand that she pull items and put them on the shelf immediately. She said when this happens she usually pulls the items to the back, puts a do not sell note on it and goes on break. Since she is the only person working in the dept. during the day she doesn't have to worry about an associate grabbing the item from the back for them while she's gone. I couldn't help but laugh at the thought of this older woman (60ish) giving grown men ulcers because she refuses to sell them toys directly off the pallet.

Alright folks, I talked to Rich at Docking Bay 94 about the meet we are planning and he offered to host it at the store. The store isn't huge but it's got a great vibe, is centrally located, and has plenty of restaurants nearby. Plus, they are taking almost anything in trade as they are trying to bring in fresh stuff and they are dying for more 25th and vintage joe, star wars, and transformers. I would need to give him a rough count of how many people would be there due to slight space constraints. I think any more than 15-20 people would be a little uncomfortable but other than that it's all good. What do you guys think?

I've been really hesistant to meet up with a bunch of people and discuss Joe for several reasons. It's nothing personal against you guys or anyone.

I haven't told anyone on the board about this, but back in 2004 I had a GI Joe collection that would make you kick your Mom right in the face.

I had a PERFECT Defiant Space Shuttle. 2 Terror Dromes. 2 USS Flaggs, 5 headquarters playsets, Mobile Command center, 40 HISS tanks, and with the exceptions of a few odds and ends that I was getting to, every single Joe and Cobra figure MADE up to that point, including around 2000 Cobra Troops.

That dude who put his collection on Youtube had nothin on me.

About this time, Rich offered me a side job manning Farpoint a few days a week.

After my second day working there, my fiance (whom I lived with) slept with a guy she met at work. A good looking model type guy who was also a TV producer.

He was also in a wheelchair. Checkmate. I can't even get in the guys face. (since he and I have spoken and econciled, I hate bad blood).

Problem is, I was emotionally devastated. Destroyed. Practically suicidal. Nothing mattered to me anymore.

As you can imagine, I kicked her out the next day, but I also kicked out half of the household income. I broke up my collection, sold the vintage (80's and 90's) figures to Rich. I sold my modern era stuff (JvC, Spy Troops and VvV) to Rich. I sold my vehicles for about a fifth of their value and I was done with Joe.

For about three months. One of the guys I sold to opened a shop in Flea World. (50 Million Toys) and I went to work there for a few years.

That turned out to be a dead end too, because I ended up selling back everything I bought. (25 DTC Nightwatch packs anyone?)

Now many of you have noticed that I've sold off about 300 of my 25th troops (of varying kinds) and I'm in the process of selling off my ARAH 12" figs. I do this all to keep myself in check.

I was a crazed Army builder. Before Chari even KNEW about Joe, I was tavelling her route fo years. Since I was old enough to drive. (Back then you had to check Eckerd's, Walgreens and even grocey stores for Joes as well.

I also lost 750 Transformers around this time to the same circumstances.

The moral of this story is that if you keep building with no caps and no limits to your collection at all, eventually your collection will own you.

I have nightmares about it now. Of course I had about 300 vehicles and I'm not going to list them all. Suffice it to say, I was King Pimp of the Joes for decades. I even (inadvertantly) designed a Con exclusive one year. (Rich used to be with Whiz Bang, and along with Mike Herz, they ran the Joe Cons back then. Now they handle FX.) Whiz Bang was the dream store of ALL Joe enthusiasts. Not only did I get my shuttle from them, but they had oddities up to prototypes, two-ups, and even costume props from commercials (Overlord's Helmet, Effects's helmet).

I have a Joe tattoo. When the comic license went to DDP, I went to Comiccon and grilled Blaylock hard. For years and years I was the ONLY ONE I knew who was such a Joe fan.

Now my collection is humble. Tiny compared to just two months ago. I stick to 5 of each troop (though 10 would be a prettier number) and instead of resurrecting my collection all at once, I think that a brick-by-brick approach is going to have to do.

Where were you all for all those years? I feel like I left a light in the window and no one ever came. So I burned the house down and now here you all are.

I don't post often. I rarely hunt anymore so there's not much to tell. I have pretty strong (even overwhelming) emotions about Joe collecting as you can well imagine by now. I am constantly reminded of what I had built and how quickly I unravelled it all.

btw- my buddy noticed that the weather dominator pegs right on top of the 2 mass device pieces perfectly. So, until the next packs come out you can make one big weather dominating mass device.

I did open my Cartoon version CC to get the 1st element piece which fits way better than the empty one that come with the mass piece.

The 3 pegs had 1 figure each. A crushed W9 Hawk, a CC & a Viper. I asked him about ordering more figures since I hadn't seen anything new there for a while. He indicated that the Hawk was the only thing left over from their last shipment. They sold in one day. He also indicated that the individual Wal-Mart does not do their own ordering. It is all done via software at a central warehouse. Each store is given an allotment and if they sell out, they have to wait until a new allotment is assigned. They should be getting enough to fill the pegs in one to two weeks. but, if those sell immediately, they'll be empty again for a while. It's too bad they remove the responsibility from the stores and then leave consumers hanging. Guess they don't want their managers making important decisions like that.

Viera Target had a HISS, somehow they also had a Cobra Trooper and a Stalker. No DVDs, but they had a tag. They did have one of the new Millennium Falcons that looks awesome.

Nice find. When I first started collecting these (When I was lucky to find a Zartan opener) I saw Flint all over the place. Had no idea he was so desired. But when I found Hisstank and discovered the "rarity" of some figures, he was gone from all the shelves. It's simply bizarre and a stroke of good fortune that you found that figure. (especially not half crushed) Your karma must be good.

Im share there are people on this site from Miami, FL, anyways today I went to a Navarro store here in Miami to get my grandmother some medicine. I went to the toy isle since I usually go to see the crappy figures they have and to my huge surprise they had a bunch of GI Joe toys. I was in shock, I couldn't believe me eyes cause this is a local Cuban base pharmacy. ANyways I got myself Lady Jaye since I was missing her. She was 9.49, that is the bad part. They are little expensive, but I have found a new place to buy my joes. If you guys know of any other places in the MIA to get your Joes let me know.

i dont know there track record for getting in comics, but alot of the orlando stores never got wave 4 in, so that could have been there first shipment of it.

They got them in the same week they got announced as first sighting… luckily I’m somewhat not too concern about getting the CP since the production number on those seems to be high, also a lot of collectors are passing on them because of the repeated characters
