The only reason i'm still on facebook is 'cause it allows me to communicate and share pictures with my family (spread all over) without downloading attachments and clogging my HD with pictures i'll never look at again. Some childhood friends too. Other than that, i'd be a pretty boring facebook friend. I prefer live interaction.

You build dioramas dude? I've been looking online at videos of Warhammer stuff and mini war gaming dioramas. Ive tried building a blown out building using styrofoam but didnt know you had to coat it in flexpaste first so it came out all flakey with white dots everywhere. I found Michael's has all the stuff I needed as far as glue, paint, rocks, flock and turf. They even sell buckets of Plaster of Paris for like 8 bucks. The Styrofoam I bought at Home Depot. They sell insullation foam slabs of 2 feet by 4 feet. You get like 5 slabs for 9 bucks.

BTW if anyone still needs Retaliation Fangboats or Ninja A.W.E.s they have like 5 of each at the TRU in Dadeland. They also had 2 dojo sets with Kamakura and 1 Ghosthawk II. I was just there at like 4:30 today.

this is the one that influenced me. Thanks for all the other pics though. I only saw 4 or 5 of them.. These pics could really help me out.. If or when I decide to get this going, I will be sure to share.

Also your right, this thing is all out rediculous... If I can even come close to this I'll be happy... Their was definatly some money added to this guys project, no doubt.. I hate spending alot of money on this, but money Is what makes it happen if you want something to look as good as the one you showed me, and since I'm ordering the dreadnoks 7pk and both zarana figures... I may have to give it a few weeks before I start.. and also some reserch so that I don't waste money.. I re-did all the interior in my old car, but it took the third time to nail it... I even spray painted and coated the steering wheel.. as alot of people will tell you it can't be done. no flakes chipping or anything. It was flawless.

Your right about that, I'm getting sick of joe hunting, It's fun when your finding, but It seems to take forever before they release new stuff for us.. It's going to be a rough year, unless tjmaxx, marshalls or ross give us our POC line..Today I went to toysrus and sure as shit I was 5 minutes late.. I grabbed a techno viper, and a guy walked down the Isle with two figures in his hand.. they were the red ninja that I already have enough of. and a joe trooper blue that I was like wtf...lol.. But I wasn't all that upset considering I'm loaded with thoes as well. I did find two techno vipers, a shock trooper, and another alley viper to complete my alley vipers... Still waiting for cvs and walgreens to restock..

i do like the Rays, though not a big baseball fan. I've been to a few of their training games and such, and found them to be pretty fan-friendly and grounded guys. Even the coach. Much bigger Marlins' fan, but the owners are such d-bags that everytime they win a World Series they sell/trade off all the players.

My area Is empty, I'm guessing cause I bought all of them.. I check up everyday at least one of each store.. they should be restocking soon.. I can tell you that if you hit up all the cvs and walgreen stores in your area, You'll find alot of them.. When I went on my run of at least 30 of each store.. I hit up 10 shock troopers.. If I were you, If you have the money, To hit up as many stores as you can find on a gps, if your phone has one, Or do it from the computer if you know your area.. Here's a list of the ones I've found in cvs and walgreens, at least the trooper builders anyways..If shadow tracker and lifeline were the ones you found, chances are, all of your cvs and walgreens stores should have joes.. Hope this helps....

I have 10 shock troppers as of now, I'm looking to find at least 2 more since im trying to get most of my troopers at 12.. I did stop the hazard vipers at 8 just because they will probably just be in a lab.. The only troopers I'm taking past the limit is cobra troopers enemy, and cobra vipers.. I'm going to go as far as I can with thoes two...

I sold off all the ones I didn't want for $700 and kept about 30 for my collection. I got several MOC figures including Zandar, Zarana, Law and Order, and 87 Cobra Commander for $2.00 a pop in that deal. Nice score man!

This is a truly crazy experience and I can't say that I ever thought I would be a part of something like it. People are literally being picked up from their homes by boats and being taken to shelters. So long for now!

I was about 14, I still remember how the roof of the house creacked with the wind blowing, and how my Mom was afarind it would destroy the house we had just bought.

Now Debby's pushing ashore up here by Torgo and myself, but at a much reduced danger level. We've been in such severe drought, that most of the rain overage will hopefully just be absorbed without the terrible flooding and damage seen in areas around Tampa. Best wishes and thoughts go out to all the Tankers in distress from this thing.

I think we're finished with the worst of Debby in my neck of the woods. It's caused a ton of sink hole damage in the surrounding areas including some in my neighborhood, so I'm definitely a little worried about that, but other than that this certainly could have been a lot worse, so I'm thankful it wasn't, and that from the looks of things I will be able to get out of here on Thursday and head to JoeCon.

Side note, since it seems many of us are having Hurricane Andrew recollections, I was 7 at the time and we lived in an apartment in Miami Lakes, but with Andrew approaching we elected to go stay at my grandparents house in Hialeah because it was of a much sounder construction (built in the 1950s), my aunt's family did the same, so in total I believe there was 7 people in the house, and we had the whole thing shuttered up so you couldn't really see what was going on, except for this one really tiny window they had in the back bathroom of the house, and we all would take turns looking out of it. I remember staring out that window during the worst of the storm, and my grandparents had a lemon tree in their backyard that had been there for about 35 years, a huge tree, and I literally saw it get pulled out of the ground and take flight. It left a hole the size of a small swimming pool. Absolutely terrifying, and one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in my life.

I'd be screwed if i had to evacuate. My collection does not fit in either of my cars.

I was 13 when Andrew passed by Miami. I also lived in Kendall then. I didn't get to see much of the winds 'cause my dad and i boarded up the windows. We stepped out during the eye and saw just about every tree around us uprooted. Ironically, the condo's name is Bent Tree. What i remember most was having to eat cold fried chicken (which my mom had thoughtfully cooked a crapload of before the storm) for days and having to sleep early since there was no electricity and everyone was saving their batteries.
During Katrina I woke up just in time to look outside my living room window (2nd floor) and see the wind rocking my wife's car, and just when i thought it was going to flip, a slew of roof shingles went through her rear window. I didn't flip, but it was soaked.

In regards to my collection, I think it might have sounded like I was packing up my collection to take with me but that was not at all the case. My car is way to small for any of that stuff, I'm lucky to fit a couple of bags of clothes in an emergency. I just packed as much as I could in about 20 35gallon plastic bins in hopes that they would be protected from any flooding and hopefully float if the water became deep enough. lol Anything that didn't fit was stacked on desks and counter tops.

Glad to hear you and your collection are okay, man. Hopefully this opens a lot of people's eyes to just how quickly mother nature can turn against us, and this was just an extremely weak tropical storm. A lot of years of being extremely lucky on the Gulf Coast I fear has bred a lot of complacency. My original major was Meteorology and learning just how crazy and dangerous a lot of this stuff can get was definitely shocking and frightening. But being prepared can make it a lot less stressful and dangerous for everyone.

Thoes are some crazy stories guys, I never really had the chance to witness anything so bizzare. We did have a rough one about 5 years ago when I was living in Zephyrhills. Driving after it was all over, with rooftops blown off, and trees scattered across the neighborhood, and In the steets was about as bad as it got. The coolest thing that I saw, was the local McDonalds high sign ripped comlpetely off. Don't get me wrong, I love McDonalds..LOL, but It was an experience to see the destruction. Anyways I wish everyone the best of luck with all this mess... And also good luck at JoeCon, for whoever is going. :)

I just saw pictures of the vehicles. The helicopter is an improvement over the original paint job but it is still lame. And that truck... what a disappointment. The vehicles this year are terrible. I'm glad I decided not to go this year and saved the money.

Hell, i already own that truck from Indiana Jones, and i passed on the Dragonfly several times since the mold is too small, no paint job makes it bigger.
But, i guess they did the best they could with the limited vehicles available that fit the theme.

Kendall WM & Target are sad sights when it comes to figures. Target has 3-packs and vehicles.

Just found out that Dave Chapelle was at Super Con last night. My friend has a picture with him...I'm so jealous.

I got to see him do stand up at Ruth Eckerd Hall a few years back. He was amazing. Funnier than you could even imagine. His crowd interaction was great. Some kid was videotaping the show so Dave took his phone and started taking random pictures. At the end of the show he brought the kid onstage, busted his balls a bit, then took some pictures with him on stage. He even stayed late talking with everyone, shaking hands, taking pictures, signing autographs. Just a really cool guy. I asked him if he would ever consider making a Half Baked 2. He replied
” Man, I'm saving that movie for a rainy day. So if you see Half Baked 2 coming out you know I'm broke as shit.”

Congrats man. The wife and I are gonna start soon. Figure within the next to try. Not sure if I'm looking forward to kids, or terrified by it.

Be afraid man, VERY afraid. All kidding aside, the first few months are sheer torture. I wish someone had warned me about the sleepless nights. All everybody ever focuses on is the birth and cleaning diapers. For me, that part was/is a joke.

After a few months and that critter starts sleeping a little longer than a couple of hours at a time and it gets better and they are pure joy. My suggestion is that you start as soon as possible. Don't wait because it gets harder the older you are. Really.

Really? If I heard "say goodbye to a good-night's sleep once that baby's born" one more time, i would've had to start rolling up newspapers and hitting people on the nose while yelling "no!". Anyways, with the baby pushing on my wife's bladder she was getting up at all hours of the night, waking me as well. So i haven't been sleeping well for a while. She's only 27 hours old and i've only slept a combined 6-7 hours. But it's been a combination of the baby crying and nurses that check up on the baby and the mother every 2 hours.

I checked a few stores for you last night in my area, still the same way I left them. one was empty the other had a firefly and a baroness figure.. Still haven't restocked in my area... If they restock the B.A.T.S may come out, since I don't think they have ever came out yet in cvs or walgreens, and If they have, they are definatly hard to find figures.. I will however keep a lookout, I am still checking once a week to see if they get anything in stock..

They are. And this is something I completely did not expect. 2 years ago the club used garbage non-GIJoe vehicles and they were selling for near cost on ebay. Last year they knocked it out of the park with a Water Moccasin and Stinger. They went back to the garbage non-Joe vehicles in the cargo truck and it is selling for double it's already inflated price. The helicopter is technically original GIJoe, but certainly not not one of the best designs and it is selling for double. I just don't get it. The good news is that those garbage vehicles allowed me to save for for the SDCC Shockwave HISS tank which I think I am going to get a hookup on.

I was at the JOECON in Orlando last year, attended on Saturday, and I couldn't get my hands on any convetion exclusives, people with golden tickets bought it all up the previous night, some of them were dealest that re-sold them for 3 times the price the next day (Douche bags). I really wanted the Python Stinger, and the two figure set, but it wasn't a total loss, picked up some complete vintage vehicles for cheap, and got Larry Hamma to Autoghraph my GI JOE Order of Blatte #1.

I really hope they pick Miami for the Convention one of these years.

It's been my longtime goal to own every figure released from 1982-present, and this drought is helping me to get there faster. I am (sort of?) looking forward to attempting to get the Jinx and Soundwave SDCC stuff next week, and hopefully not getting completely price gouged in the process.

In the mean time, we really need to try and get another local meet going. I've been starting to acquire some items for sale/trade, and would of course love the chance to hang with my Joe brethren again, cause I'm having big time JoeCon withdraw.
