I just hit the Ocala Ross again today because I had to run some errands up there. What a waste of time. Even the only Captain America jet they had was ripped open by some little inbred degenerate.

Also, nothing worth making the trip up there, Torgo, unless you're looking for the few Marvel items that Wal-Mart has on clearance(Sentinel $40, MU Guardians of the Galaxy pack for $15, ML scale Cap and Thor figs for $7.40). I bought a Fantastic Four pack even though the paint apps were a little funky. All their Joes are gone, even the vehicles. And they haven't started their reset yet and there are no planograms out. I saw the planograms at the one nearest to you and it's nice to see four pegs for Joes and four pegs for MU. I forget if it had the MU comic packs. I sure hope so. Looking for that Sinister/Gambit and Thanos/Adam Warlock pair.

Looks like the SW200 WM in Ocala has stopped restocking Joes. It was a good run for a few weeks there, reminded me of the old days lol. There's still a Ripcord, Tunnel Rat and a Steel Brigade trooper or two left. Hopefully this means that they are going to start the reset soon.

I haven't been to Ocala proper for a while so I'm not sure how the hunting is out there. It was very unusual for me to score all the figures I wanted, even more unusual to find them at that particular store!

My local WM is now doing the reset. Basically they moved all the action figures from one side of the aisle to the other with Lego on the side that they used to be. They do indeed have 4 pegs for Joes, they had one figure on each lol. Still pegs for Thor and Green Lantern with a few moldy old figures hanging. I'm not sure why since neither sell. Weren't those movies bombs?

They still have the usual large areas for Star Wars and Transformers. They never did get any Masters of the Universe figures, only Thundercats.

So I was at TRU in N.P.R. this morning when they opened the doors and I get to the Joes to find what seems to be 2 new cases just put out but with one problem...all the Zombie vipers and Storm Shadows were gone. I left a Sci-Fi, Lifeline, 2 Scarletts, 2 T.R., 2 Ripcords, 2 Ren. Troopers. Looks like the employees are cherry picking the Joes there unfortunately for those of us that frequent that location. This was my first time seeing either of these waves at retail so it was cool and disappointing at the same time.

I'm looking for a Storm Shadow and Zombie Viper if anyone can help me out.

I was considering that but then that means that there was 4 Zombies, 1 Steel Brigade, 1 Techno Viper, 1 Airtight and 1 Law & Order missing because there was remnants of what would equal 2 cases. Either way, they are disappearing before they reach the sales floor. Sucks for us but I understand if an employee is a collector that is one of the perks!

Acme Comics in Longwood posted on their FB page that they took a large collection of Star Wars, Transformers and GI Joe and they posted a pic. (I am trying to upload the pic, but my album here on Hisstank is gone) But anyway, the thing that caught my eye in the picture was an Independence Day (ID4) F-18. I was wondering if any of you guys have come across that particular plane and what is your opinion of it?

Damn, even with the sound off that was the most detailed review i've ever seen!
That plane is not that bad. It just needs some modifications. The figure (what the hell was that?) looks really small. The cockpit looks like it might be a tight fit for joes. Unless i saw it in person (not boxed), i wouldn't buy it... i probably wouldn't buy it either way.

yeah, a buddy of mine stopped by there to take a look at it and said it is much smaller than expected. He wasn't impressed. The Elite Heroes one is better, and if you need to go all the way go with the one from BBi.

I had a BBi F-18 and it was the Black Jolly Rogers one. I had to sell it after my divorce. Now I am gearing up to buy the new BBi F-16. I thought about the JSI Tomcat, but it's just too big.

A very interesting side note about the south Sarasota Target. I picked up one of the Shiny mask cobra vipers and asked the guy stocking the isle if they got any of the Joes on the latest truck. He said that they are phasing out G.I. Joe because "they aren't selling well" .

My guess is that the target employees are cherry picking the boxes as well.

I placed the figure back on the peg for any collectors in the area looking for this. Its the basic setup. 2 Arctic destros, Cobra commander renegades, ripcord renegades, Cobra viper, cobra trooper and, iron grenadier.

Man, you should see the way they're treated at the stores up here by Torgo and me. The stores that carry Joes sell them fairly well, and tend to restock well. But that's only 4 stores in a 4 county area. They also don't stock the SW figures worth a damn. I don't collect them much, but I keep track of what's new and what's out because I try to help my friends out. It'll be months before a new Clone Wars wave hits. Hell, just last week was the first time I saw the Savage Opress wave(no shirt). New Vintage SW? pshh, no such thing.

No worries dude, I really appreciate the look out! I don't think they're really hitting anywhere in force yet, especially with all the stores doing their after Christmas inventory and reset. But I'm caught up on the line excluding those two, so I'm looking forward to them.

Arrgh! *Venting much frustration*He speaks the truth. This area hates GI Joe and SW collectors but the Transformers section is always overflowing. The Hot Wheels section is 90% monster trucks now for some reason. Funny how monster trucks get popular every 5 years or so, lol.

Also the 4 GI Joe pegs still have the same figures on them, one per peg. I think Rip, Scarlett, a Steel Brigade and another I can't remember. I think that they are done with the reset in the action figures section so maybe they will bring another case out. The pegs were overflowing before the reset. I'm also worried about the long wait we have until the movie figures. And I hope they won't suck ass like RoC crap.

Lots of new (I guess they are new, I don't collect SW but I've never seen these) Star Wars figures on the pegs at the SW200 WM in Ocala. They all seem to have a gimmick like swinging light sabers and kicks and shooting missiles and crap like that. They also had some battle packs which I have also never seen before. Yawn....

Still the same 4 figures on the Joe pegs. I rearranged them with one per peg. Wish they would pick up the pace, I'd like some more zombies, lol.

Thanks for the full Report! There has not been much in the area lately. I have been Preordering from BBTS for a couple of years now, it makes sense to do so, our distribution in SRQ/Bradenton is terrible!

I pre order at BBTS primarily and sometimes shop at the local stores. With gas what it is, driving around town costs more than ordering online. And there isn't the sense of dissapointment.

On a side note, I was at the toys r us in Wesley chapel and got the last crimson hiss tank. There is a cobra VTOL, a few renegades cobra commanders and one renegades duke left.

Hit Oldsmar Flea Market today. Came away with a Skystriker near complete but with both seats and both parachutes for 30 bucks. They had 2 more, one was rough for 15. The other was in decent shape and was 40. They also had a near complete Night Raven for 50. Had a box with a bunch of vintage figures but I didn't go thru them (he said he hadn't got any new ones since I was there last time).

Well the WM on SW200 here in Ocala which had a deluge of figures earlier this month now has Scarlet x2, a Steel Brigade trooper and Tunnel Rat hanging one each on the four pegs. I re-arranged them myself. Plenty of the new series Star Wars stuff which I don't collect and they also have quite a bit of Thundercats stuff which I also don't collect.THD(

Hit Big Lots yesterday and bought a PTE set with a nice Jeep and a trailer. Comes with a few barrels and crates to fill the trailer with, a crap motorcycle and the usual crap figures. It actually represents a "Mutt" which was used in Vietnam and until the 80's when the Humvees took over. It also has a machine gun on a pedestal mount. Nice set for $17. I plan on weathering it when I get the chance. There are also some really cool bunkers out but I haven't seen any. Great stuff for you diorama and customizing guys

Up to when my store closed they had two books. The second one is called "Exile: a day by day armageddon" and the writer said he would release a third one soon. Not sure if its out yet.

Its about a US soldier who goes through zombie apocalypse and keeps a journal of it. The book is written in diary format and its freaking crazy.

Its not as long as Death Troopers but then again I though Death Troopers dragged on alot.

Oh nah, without a doubt its a fun book. If you like Starwars and you like zombies its a win/win. Im just being a snob since I practicaly got paid to read books for 5 years.
Just like "The Cobra Wars", alone its a good book if you like spy thrillers but add the fact that its about GI Joe and its just awsome. "Flint and Steel" was amazing! I still get goosebumps thinking about it.

I keep putting one on each peg and moving them to the front but they aren't replacing them. I'm hoping to score some more Zombies! I haven't been to Ocala proper in a while but I imagine it's the same story. They did have a bunch of the new basic SW figures out. Some cool looking figures but I haven't collected SW in a few years. Maybe on payday I will buy all five Joes and then return them when they stock again, lol.

Checking the list twice today paid off this afternoon. Went and checked out a lot posted today in winter garden and found all these goodies. The track is open but unused. Everything is still sealed and in perfect condition! Other than the box. It has seen better days but glad to have it. I'm going to keep it unless I get a good offer. All i paid was $30 bucks !

I found the pair of Reso sets at the Ross on I-drive in Orlando the week after Xmas as I was down there on vacay at Disney/Universal. Also found a number of QK and Spirits at assorted Ross stores scattered throughout the Orlando area and bought two of each leaving myriad others behind. Other than that though, I haven't seen them.

Theres some talk going around that hasbro actually gave them less articulation then what we have now. Only thing I've noticed on figures like Zartand and CC they seem to only have 1 knee joint where the ninjas still have 2.

Yup...the vehicle drivers only have 5 points of articulation, but it looks like the head pops off and the gear is removable.

I read about the articulation. Thing is, sometimes the drivers are cool enough that I like to display them instead of putting them inside the vehicle so less articulation would suck.

I really like the VAMP II and the Ghosthawk II. The other vehicles, not so much.

While they away here, they give other there. Those ninja figures look awesome... almost makes me wish i cared beyond SE, SS, and Jinx. I've always disliked it when toylines provided a less-articulated version with a vehicle. I just never though the joe line could get to that. I bought the Captain America Jet, and the figure included belongs in a dollar store. Still, that will not deter me from buying some of these vehicles (doubt i'll get that joe version of the HISS Scout )

Meh. I've been to every Megacon since like '95. Joes are present, but the prices are usually at or above standard eBay pricing(inc shipping) and you have to pay the outrageous entrance fee($25+) plus parking($8-10).

The show is fun, but they need to open up more room for it. Going on Friday, preview day is really the only day to go if your goal is shop. Sat/Sun the place is so tightly packed that you really can't shop, and god forbid you buy something bigger than a loose figure you can barely walk through an aisle without holding it over your head like a Saharan water jug.

If you collect things other than Joes, like Marvel or DC you'll find a lot more competition and the prices range from very reasonable to fu*king insane. Star Wars usually also has some reasonable appearances. Just seems there's never any Joes for less than $10, and if there are, they are gone very quickly.

Ive been to Megacon a few times. '08, '09 and 2010. I skipped last year. I never saw any Joe stuff except maybe two booths with 2nd and 3rd wave 25th anniv. stuff and maybe like a couple of loose incomplete vehicles. Its not a convention for Joe fans at all.
Also Megacon is way WAYYYYYY too anime oriented and as much as I love anime (and I do!) its all like obscure anime, mostly with homosexual overtone or gender uncertainty. The overwhelming majority of fans are really affeminated boys and awkward girls.

I wasn't able to get to Dolphin Mall, since i was stuck at home doing a ton of homework, but i figured the Kendall Ross would have it (much closer to me). I hit it early yesterday and scored. Thanks for the heads up, but forget about the WM incident. I never did get Scarlett or Ripcord. I'll get them if i find them at WM, but not at Walgreens.

I haven't been able to open either yet. School has monopolized my time. Maybe later on today. They'll be my reward after a test today.

The WalMarts here seem to have run out of Joes and they are not restocking. My neighborhood WM has had two Scarlett's, one Steel Brigade, and one Tunnel Rat warming the pegs for a while now. I always put one on each peg just for the hell of it.

I can't complain too much because I finally have all the POC, 30th and Renegades figures I wanted. I guess I will work on my 1:72 die-cast aircraft and tank collection until the movie line comes out.

As much as it reminds me of Robotech, it pains me to agree with you. It's got no playability as an armor. Things are always falling apart on mine. It can't stand up properly for long. If kids were to get their hands on these, they'd break a peg first, then loose one of the guns (the bike guns, the figure's guns would be long lost between the car seats when they tried to sneak it to school or chewed up by the dog). Then, they'd break the missing gun's peg in disgust! Those rubber tires would have teeth marks, just like the nosecone on my Ramjet.

BTW, Kendall WM is going to hell holding Kendall Target's hand when it comes to joes.

Just came back from Oldsmar flea market. Guy out there has some good stuff. He's got a couple Whales (neither is complete but both are cheap), incomplete Mamba for like 15 bucks, Tomahawk missing some pieces but includes 8 blades for 18 bucks. Plus he's got a compete Skystriker for 40, compete Stinger for 25, complete Swampfire for 10. He's got a lot of cool other stuff too. Check him out if you can.

He took me to his warehouse and literally had 6 Terror Dromes set up, 3 Defiant complex, maybe 50 HUGE wardrobe boxes FILLED with vintage vehicles. It was overwhelming... He said he is going to give me a deal on a bundle of a complete Terrordrome, complete Defiant and complete USS Flagg.

He said he really needs to take the time to put it all together as he has over 500 vehicles and playsets, not to mention thousands of figures. I sent him to yojoe.com and told him about the 'tank and said when he's really ready to sell, he would have NO problem unloading everything he has on the tank!
