What I told sirt8675309 (whatever the hell is username is) is what I tell everyone in that situation. Get the boxed set anyway and just sell it. You can break it up and keep the figures you want, or resell the whole thing with the free attendee item and make a little money on it. That gets you into all the convention events for FREE. Most of the time, you can find takers before you even get to the convention. Otherwise you get one of those $80-100 admissions but have nothing to show for it. Just access to all the events. If you are going just for general admission on the weekend, then it might not be worth putting up that kind of money. But if you are going for the full event, buy a box set and resell.

Mutt7000 and I are going to be at the convention as well. This will likely be my last one so I hope it is good.

$15-20 - General admission on Saturday or Sunday only. Sales floor and panels only.
$80-100 - Sergeants package. All access, Friday sales floor + panels, casino night dinner, sales floor, NO figures.
$305 - 15 figure set, attendee exclusive "freebie" vehicle, everything above.

There is no discount for club members on general admission, same price for all. Of course for everything but general admission, the club doesn't give discounts on anything. They charge you normal price if you are a member, and $42 more (for the cost of membership) if you are not.

ok, i basically skimmed this, since there are over 900 pages... but what's the deal in Jacksonville? Almost no one posts about jax finds, but the product is still disappearing. I saw a post about the San Jose Wal Mart getting revision cases, and i was just in there a day ago and there was nothing but arctic Destro.
All the local discount stores (Ross, Marshall's, TJ Maxx) have been picked clean as well, and I rarely see any Jax natives on boards.

I guess I just needed to vent my frustration.
Ugh.

As a matter of fact, there are. We usually do about 1 or 2 a year in Deltona. Mutt7000 is the guy that hosts them. He mentioned doing one close to the convention but I don't know if he was serious about that. Seemed like a bad idea to me because it was close to the convention. Just keep watching this thread for talk of it.

Hah! I have to admit, I ordered a set through BBTS, too. I was terrified it would end up like the Nano-Viper/Kamakura wave and couldn't risk it.

But I almost view that as cheating... I don't consider it 'proper' unless I can walk into a TRU, or Walmart or Target and pick them up at ease. It makes me think they're like precious gemstones I'll lose/break if I can't. XD

Wow....make me wish we had a place like this down here in Miami, comic shops are few and far between down here, and most of the ones that I've been to only have startrek, and starwars junk, the only one I might find any vintage Joe figs or vehicles is A&M comics, and most of the time you can only find one or two vehicles and they have half the parts missing.

sorry. I fixed it. I was texting on my phone while feeding my son and pushing a stroller. Things don't always work out when you multi task. The prices at Docking Bay are pretty good. Plus, even if they're a few bucks more than say eBay, I don't mind because
1. I don't mind helping a Tanker out (who also hooked me up with a great deal).
2. I would rather pay a few bucks more for something that I can see before I buy it.
3. I get it now. No waiting around for it to arrive after the seller sends it a week after you pay for it.
Overall it was a fun experience. He had a Tiger Fish, Sky Hawk, another Sky Striker, two Phantoms, a couple Havoks, a complete Wolverine with box, Night Raider. Can't remember everything but all the stuff was in really good shape and most looked complete. The store is actually pretty small but he has tons of stuff crammed in it. Definitely had fun.

I did once, comic book collecting back in 96, when every body started drawing like Jim Lee, I said it was time to go. I might quit this one too, not finding something that was supposed to be released two months ago is really pissing me off. I asked a Target worker today how come they did not have the new figures, she told me it was because they were not selling as much, so I said "well...maybe if you guys ordered the new figures instead of ordering the same old crap, the sales for this item wil go up, do you know how many people are looking for the new figures?"

I watched an employee at a target stock the shock trooper wave one time, and he opened six different cases just to load the pegs with Dukes, Storm Shadows, and TWO of the snake eyes. I asked him if he was planning on stocking the rest of the figures in the boxes that people would actually want to buy. He looked me in the eyes, as if i didn't just watch him open the cases and said "what's on the hooks has to sell before we can pull anything from back stock" I even told him i would buy every shock trooper in the six boxes, and he said he couldn't until the shelves were restocked.

From the past few times these type of things have been released by ROSS, I've been able to calculate the time before they get here, they just showed up in California, don't go nuts looking for them now, you're not gonna find them, give it about a week before these show up in FLA.

I'm not going nuts, yet. One Ross is in my neighborhood and the other is in the same shopping center where i gas up. But, you're right, there's was nothing new in either today. They did restock the WM exclusive ROC two-packs in both, but no Hisses, Rages, or Sand Serpents. As for K-Mart on 8th & 124th, K-Mart on Kendall & 137th, Target on Kendall & 150th and WM on 157th, Dark Helmet said it best: "Absolutely nothing!". K-Mart looks like it's dropping line entirely. Target has the POC revision sets for waves 1 & 2. WM had the saddest leftover assortment from wave 2.

Seems to me that if they teamed up with Marauder Guns, they would make a great booth to go to. But last I heard Marauder wasn't going either. Booths are more expensive now too. They used to be $300 each, now I think they are $350 or so. You have to sell a lot of stickers to cover the cost.

The club is usually good on keeping that a secret until Thursday night. Sometimes stuff leaks out, but not often. Usually the first rumblings of what the stuff is comes out on Wednesday night when the people that went on the tour get their boxed sets and listings for the extra items that can be bought. I am on the tour this year so if there is info to be had on Wednesday, I will post it here.

An easy guess for the exclusive 2 pack is the 2 brazilian python patrol figures. They were simple repaints of airborne and ripcord and they got the theme perfectly (python patrol and brazilian exclusives).

I sent you a PM with my number. For everyone else that doesn't already know, registration starts at 6:00pm on Thursday. They used to mail out colored letters indicating if you were part of the 6pm registration group or the 8pm group. It seems they are going away from that now since no one has received any letters. I am not sure if they are splitting it up or just telling everyone to get there at 6pm. The catch is, arrive early. At least a hour before. The reason is because everyone else starts lining up early too. If you get there at 6pm, you might not get through the lines until 9-10pm, seriously.

In all likelihood, the club will start selling the carded Dial Tone on that night along with everything else. There will be a limit on them so they should last until Friday. I fully expect them to be fully sold out by early Saturday. That is just my opinion based on what I have seen in the past.

Wal Marts all around the state seem to be about 50/50 on carrying any GI JOE's at all or nothing. I have seen wave 3's at Wal Marts near the beaches. What beach are you headed to?

I sent you a PM with my number. For everyone else that doesn't already know, registration starts at 6:00pm on Thursday. They used to mail out colored letters indicating if you were part of the 6pm registration group or the 8pm group. It seems they are going away from that now since no one has received any letters. I am not sure if they are splitting it up or just telling everyone to get there at 6pm. The catch is, arrive early. At least a hour before. The reason is because everyone else starts lining up early too. If you get there at 6pm, you might not get through the lines until 9-10pm, seriously.

In all likelihood, the club will start selling the carded Dial Tone on that night along with everything else. There will be a limit on them so they should last until Friday. I fully expect them to be fully sold out by early Saturday. That is just my opinion based on what I have seen in the past.

You think I should get there on Thursday? Wonder if I will be ok if I wait until Friday to get the exclusives. Don't want to miss them.

I will be going to Panama City Beach from March 19 to March 26. I know I will be going to the walmart there on Front Beach and Hutchison on the 19 for Groceries for the week. The Target at Pier Park, I am not exactly sure when I will get there. Most likely sometime during the week, want to go to the German place there.

If you want to be sure you get one, Thursday is a good idea. But I am pretty confident that they will still have them on Friday. They always limit the number you can get on Thursday and Friday. They usually open up the limits on Saturday if any are left by then. At only 600, I can see this one selling though fairly quickly.

I'm surprised I got it for the price that I did, it was an auction nobody but me bid on, evry one else was biddig on on others that went up to $150, but this auction slipped under the radar, and I got it for the initial bid of $50, I guess nobody wanted it because it didn't bring the pilot, that is not a problem for me cause I'll make one.

If you use the currency coverter on that Japanese Yahoo auction 1,980 JPY equals 24.0583 USD. So if you can't find one the Ebay one comes out cheaper, but then again the auction still has about six days so it might go higher.

Honestly, I think these things are slated for Ross or ejected into open space. I don't see them ever hitting regular retail. Just my opinion, I have no facts to back it up.
