So, I was wondering how many people are planning to go to the Swap meet at Mutt's house in April? There will be a lot of people there. I hope some of you non-Orlando area guys can make it.

Actually not just vehicles Ive seen it with DVD 5 packs, the Toys R US leadership packs (Wave 2) and 5 pack troop builder sets, I have notice that the stiore employees dont really care either.

Another huge problem here is the scalpers there are a few of them who own ebay online stores here in town that clean up the isles and bone everyone else in the process.

i say we all kick them in the knee!

This is a HUGE problem. I myself got burned early last year when I picked up what I foolishly thought was a "variant" HISS Tank with a "special" driver... turned out to be a swapped out Tele-Viper figure.

This has been a HUGE problem for a while now - especially for returned vehicles. My theory is that the person(s) doing this don't want the vehicles themselves, only the figures for some reason - either they can't afford the whole vehicle, don't care about the vehicles, or they simply are "troop building" or something like that.

Either way, I really see no solution to this problem because of the general ignorance by the persons who work the customer service jobs at the stores. The only way (I guess) would be to "train" or give color-picture sheets of all the GI JOE vehicles that they must check whenever someone returns one - do you think they are going to go for that? I doubt it. But anything is possible...

Wonder if we could convince Hasbro to put foil tapes to seal boxes? Not only could that reduce the repackers (especially if they require open packages to be sent back instead of returned) but it would notify collectors immediately if the box has been tampered with. Mint in sealed box could then be verified. Open toys should be required to be sent back to the manufacturer anyway since it could be a potential "child hazard".

Acme Toys on 17-92 in Longwood has a ton of Joes right now. They even have a BBI Blackhawk (MIB) and a loose BBI Apache. They also have a ton of vehicles right now (it looks like several collectors got rid of their stuff). And some convention exclusives like Pimp Daddy Destro and convention blue suit CC.

Wal-mart in Sanford (17-92) had Resolute Comics Packs as well as a Sting Raider (Water Mocassin) and Ghost Hawk.

Last Sunday, the Target by the Seminole Town Center had a Resolute Duke and Cobra Commander.

Ok, well, I haven't seen anything of the wave with the cobra diver/ninja viper/python crimson guard (i think wave 12) at all until I went to a wal-mart on Hallandale east of US 1. They seem to have gotten every case in south florida there. They had all the newer comic packs, as well as 4 ninja viper cases (i bought one) along with a ton of repack cases. Literally about 10 cases of joes on the pegs. No vehicles though. Also had 4 each of the joe and cobra 5 packs, no resolute though.

That one is actually microcon. That one is sad in comparison of megacon. Megacon is in orlando at the convention center, its a way bigger show in comparison on the FX show.

That one is no longer going to happen at the Double Tree. It will now be in the Honeywell building in Largo. It happens March 22, July 26 & Nov 8 '09.

Just got home after being out all day. Megacon was fun but very crowded. Saw all kinds of overpriced Joe's, Marvel Legends and just about everything else you could think off. Hey Mutt unfortunately i couldn't seem to find anybody doing cheap sketches but i feel like i missed a lot of stuff because there was just so much going on. After Megacon i went to 3 tru's and 3 Target's and i found... A fang/Claw set, 2 Paratroopers and a Eel. I also picked up all 3 of the new Street Fighter figures at tru.

Went to MegaCON on Saturday (First Time) - was incredibly crowded and was a frigging Halloween party. Almost (but not quite) felt stupid for not wearing a costume (as if). Lots of toys, and there were a couple of people selling Joes, but nothing really out of the ballpark. Saw a couple of vendors that had 25th anniversary Joes marked up into the $40 / $80 / $100 range and in special cases - assumed they were variants or "AFA" rated.

Almost pulled the trigger on a $40 Hooded/Black Suit CC on a podium - but figured I could get it on Fleabay.

Also recall seeing a Snake Eyes with a White Timber (not the Black Variant) going for $40... huh? Another vendor had the new Wave 8 Comic Packs (Resolute) for $20 piece - what a RIP. Pass and wait for it...

At least I managed to pickup the Wave 12 and Wave 13 I was missing... now the wait for Wave 14 begins (if it ever comes out - heard rumors its delayed)

The thing that really freaked me out was all the "Star" appearances. Of course they have their pictures when they were young and in all their "glory" but now - well they don't look so good anymore. Time and Age catches up with everybody - even the playboy playmates with all the plastic work done on them. Some I just had to say "Eewww - what happened?"

The ones that drew the most crowds were two persons (1 Male /1 Female) from the new Battlestar Galactica. Don't watch it so I don't know who the hell they are.

Till next year... (And YES, that really is someone on the floor resting, wearing a UNICORN costume... made me reach for my camera while shrieking "WTF"...)

Also, I have a Terrordrome mint and complete with Firebat and AVAC. One small part was chipped but it has been well and almost unnoticeably repaired. I am asking $250 for it and I dont want to drag it down there unless I have a definite buyer, so let me know. I also have a complete GENERAL with driver, price is negotiable but like the TD, Im not dragging it down there without a definite buyer.

I am local to the New Port Richey/Port Richey/Hudson/Spring Hill Area of Florida.

I generally go after the single pack figures. No vehicles or 5-packs. I can be on the lookout for anything you guys need though. If I find something someones looking for Ill gladly let you know where,when..

im not sure where in FL your at, but I was at target on Gulf to bay and 60? Just past the countryside mall area, and they had a GRIMLOCK MM yesterday...

in orlando theres like 50 walmarts. where i am theres like 3. and i have to cross 5 cities to get to all three. i feel like i live in the boondocks.

the city of daytona doesnt even have a walmart. they have a regular target not a super. south daytona has a walmart but its kinda ghetto and i feel like im gonna get shot if i go at night.

port orange has the best supertarget and super walmart around me and its a randomass town that no ones really ever heard of. go figure.

There is a new Target up there too. Brand new and super-sized. So you have Target: Port Orange, Daytona Beach, Palm Coast.

So with the Toys R Us in Daytona and the KMarts in Daytona & Port Orange you actually have at least 9 retail stores you can hit all within a 3-4 hour run in one day. I used to make that trip a few times a month. Only sucks during times like this when nothing is coming out. When its new product time it's like going on an all-day treasure hunt.

I can't speak for Pyro but I imagine he is super busy running that OFFICIAL GI JOE VS COBRA GAME. He does a great job. I started playing it as a Cobra Assassin. It is awesome. And COBRA wins all the time. I recommend you join a winning team and join COBRA TODAY!!! (PM me for details)

Swafus, I like the list. I have 2 suggestions.

#1 put me in as a Maybe or Probable. I'm thinking I will make a weekend trip to Daytona. That would put me in the area as I travel back to Tampa. I may not be able to make the beginning (as I will be hanging in Daytona on Sunday). However, I should be able to get there at some point based on how late you guys plan to party it up.

#2 I have a ton of stuff and not wanting to get a uhaul to bring it to the event. Why don't we have each participating member provide a little list (either detailed or generic) of things that may interest them.

Example - I need the DVD packs, blue Wraith, Black Timber SE and the latest vehicle wave. I am also selling off a complete set of 1 of every 25th JOE item made since started. I need about 8 items for that. (Resolute soldier, Torch, Desert & Snow conditions packs, convention figures). This way peeps know what I'm interested in if they have it to bring.

Went to the FX show yesterday and did some buying and trading and selling. I sold my carded snake eyes for $100 and traded some hot wheels TH's. Found a rattler with front landing gear for 4 dollars and a bag of parts from another vendor for the TH's. So 4 bucks for a rattler. Woooo!!. Traded a cobra red star for a Hall of heroes Bat. They look awesome but i feel the bat was the best of the set. FX need to lower the entrance fee but a good show.

There were treasure hunts all over the place. I almost had to beg to get rid of them. And mine were the super treasure hunts. I had the green hummer and a gold mustang. Id say 5 or 6 bucks. But im happy with the rattler parts i got for them.

Anyone have rattler parts. Rear landing gear little gun the windows 2 small black missles 1 torpedo engine cover and the 2 silver intake and exhaust. Also loonking for 3 red missles and the gun to the wolf.

Tell me about it every time i find Battle Beasts they are expensive and am always like...pass, but they have a couple at Acme in longwood as of this afternoon. Also flee markets are a great place to pick up a few, they always seem to be sans weapons and rub signs though. I have picked up bags full of M.U.S.C.L.E men for only a couple bucks at thrift stores in the past though.

Tell me about it every time i find Battle Beasts they are expensive and am always like...pass, but they have a couple at Acme in longwood as of this afternoon. Also flee markets are a great place to pick up a few, they always seem to be sans weapons and rub signs though. I have picked up bags full of M.U.S.C.L.E men for only a couple bucks at thrift stores in the past though.

I was gonna go to acme on Friday, and see what they had, But we decided to do something else, I forgot what it was, then went to FX on sat, and drove home.. Acme is a bit far, but everytime I go to orlando, I trek out to longwood to go there. Its so friggin organized. its great.

Guys, Kmarts in the Orlando area have the comic two packs on clearance for $6.54. The tag says $8.00 but it rings up as $6.54. Check the clearance aisles. I was able to score a Falcon/ Nemesis Immortal and there was an Iron Grenadier comic pack that I passed on at the one in Winter Springs.

I'm a bringing a 5 spot as well. So i just got back from hunting and i went to the Pine Hills Target where i found one of the new Cobra 5 packs but something was amiss...The Chrome Viper was replaced with a regular Viper, Zartan was replaced with a wave three Zartan with his hood cut off and Storm Shadow and Baroness were replaced with the ones from the first 5 pack, Cobra Commander was untouched. Left and went to Walmart in Ocoee and there was a destro/Shockblast pack with Shockblast riped clean out and a Scarlett and Hawk with Hawk riped out. WTF is wrong with people?

This might be old news to you guys down that way, but I was shocked to see GI Joe toys in the big toy store at Downtown Disney this past weekend while vacationing down there in Mickeyland. They were of course overpriced (isn't everything there?) and pretty much limited to muggs, vehicles and dvd packs (that's all I saw at least). Just a heads up if anybody is dying to find something and is willing to pay a few bucks extra to get it. Sorry, no pics. That was the one time we didn't have a camera along on the trip. Cheers.
