The
"ARAH or DIE!" Custom Figure Contest!
The o-ring years were the best in GI JOE history. Hundreds and hundreds of figures, vehicles and playsets were produced. It was the height of GI JOE mania and it was awesome. This contest has been created to honor the ARAH style o-ring figures and give customizers (both ARAH and Modern Era) an opportunity to showcase their talents. While Modern Era customizing contests are a dime a dozen, it’s the o-ring’s turn to shine.
CATEGORIES
"Where are they now?"
Create a version of an existing JOE or Cobra Character (from the 1982-1994 line) that is still active in the JOE or Cobra organizations in some way. How do they look today? What is their primary function in their respective organization? Have they suffered injuries, gained new skills or changed their appearance?
Example: If Hawk was age 30 in 1982 (his first figure’s release) then he’d be 59 years old today. Create a custom that reflects his time in the service of GI JOE; who has he become after all these years?
Where’s Zartan and what is he up to? What about Storm Shadow or Bazooka?
GI JOE has been constantly reinvented over the years. This category assumes the original timeline is intact and uninterrupted.
“MINDBENDER’S EVIL LABORATORY!”
After successfully creating the Monstro and Bio Vipers (YOJOE.COM | Monstro-Viper (http://www.yojoe.com/action/93/monstroviper.shtml) & YOJOE.COM | Bio-Viper (http://www.yojoe.com/action/93/bioviper.shtml) ) Dr. Mindbender decided to up the ante. He sent the Crimson Shadow Guard to kidnap members of the JOE team and bring them back to his nightmare lab. There he injected them with all types of concocted and horrifying mutagen serums, thus creating new Monster Vipers!
For this category, create a Monster Viper Joe. Entries should be grotesque in their horror and easily recognizable as to the Joe that was transformed.
“Kickin’ it Old School!”
Since the inception of the 25th line we’ve seen some excellent new characters come forth in plastic. Create a figure that shows what that character or version of a character would have looked like if done in the ARAH style. For example: Volcano Viper, Helix, Skydive, Wraith Shadow Tracker or any other figure/character that never saw ARAH glory.
Rules:
-> ALL ENTRIES MUST USE O-RING ARAH PARTS or originally sculpted parts. You may draw from ANY incarnation of the ARAH style (1982-1994). While you may use the ARAH styled figures that were released in the 2000’s era, no new sculpt, Valor Vs Venom, 25th or POC figure parts can be used. FOR "MINDBENDER'S EVIL LABORATORY" ONLY, your entry may contain up to 50% non-joe parts. BUT, the parts used must be from VINTAGE toy lines between 1982-1994.
-> You MAY however use ANY accessories from any toy line you wish. This includes gear, guns and any other small accessory.
-> Entrants may also use any ARAH styled parts from the Slayer Design Store.
-> If you have ANY question about a part and whether or not it is usable in the contest, please contact me via PM.
-> You MUST submit a NEW custom figure CONSTRUCTED FOR THIS CONTEST to be eligible to win.
-> Make a unique thread for your entry. Put "ARAH or DIE Contest Entry" along with your character's name in the title. THEN MAKE POST IN THIS THREAD WITH A LINK TO YOUR ENTRY.
-> You MAY submit one entry for EACH of the categories if you wish for a total of three entries.

Winners will be decided by voting on Hisstank.
