Just watched an episode of the old G.I. Joe toon show on The HUb channel a half hour ago and it was about Lady Jaye finding out that she's related to Destro somehow.

So how were they related anyway? cousins or something?

are you talking about the episode where she is invited to an old castle and flint is in disguise following her.

is it a literal relation?

or...

does she just resemble a woman from Destro's past in that episode and is having/sharing her "memories"?

i don't remember exactly- but i remember there was a catch...

i can look it up on youtube...but if anyone knows if it's a literal relation, or some weird figurative plot device type relation...chime in.

There was a pic of a lady on the wall that looked just like lady J and I think she had to stay the night in the place I do believe it was either cousin or uncle

At the end of the episode when Destro and the Baroness are commiserating, Destro scoffs at the idea that he and Lady J are relation. Correcting Destro's denial, the Baroness says she did the background research and in fact he is related.

No other details are mentioned. It would be interesting if any family genealogy can be dug up on this!

What I find troubling is how the producers of the Joe animation weren't too concerned about story arc accuracy. This is because Destro's creature is not the same creature in the 2nd season episode "Sins of Our Fathers" where Cobra Commander convinces the creature to kill Serpentor.

It is specifically mentioned how the creature is the same in both episodes yet somehow the creature transforms from a octopus/beholder style of creature in the 1st season into some kind of leviathan class maggot with appendages in the 2nd season.

That always buggered my OCD.

The Lady Jaye and Destro relation episode last night it was pretty good with some good action and some odd stuff at the castle.

Firefly came and crashed through a wall while Cobra Troopers were shooting at Barbeque and Shipwreck LOL.

It was nice though to see an old episode like that instead of the new G.I. Joe cartoon

Here is an interesting, if pervy, bit of info. On the video recordings I made of the original episodes in the 80's, you can see Lady Jaye's rear in that outfit. Just before Flint fires to break the chain as she is swinging, when the tape is paused, it looks like you see her bare bottom. This does not work on any version I have ever seen on DVD. When pausing it or viewing in slow motion on DVD it skips that frame. Back on topic, yeah, they are related somehow, but only on the show and how exactly is never revealed.

Her great grandmother's aunt's cousin's next door neighbor's roommate in college was Destro's nanny.

If you get Lady Jady to expose her twins you'll see their both chromed plated like Destro's head.

What's with LJ being "attacked" by tentacles or tentacle like objects? Twice in Sunbow it has happened.

The family relation was never brought up again in the cartoon and even in the Postbox The Pit letter column of the Joe comic a fan wrote it mentioning this tidbit to which the editor replied that the comic book itself would touch upon this subject but nothing came of it.

The way they had the two pictures up on the wall made it seem as if they had descendants who were involved with each other. Somethin like that.
