Just got issue #1 and wow...I'm in love with this comic book already!

Huuuuuuuuuuuge mix of the very 1st Laird and Eastman comic with some very subtle hints of TMNT from the cartoon and toy.

Great stuff, has a very grim, urban...almost Punisher feel to it. Can not wait to see where this goes.

Highly recomended for old school TMNT fans and anyone who just wants to see some ass whooping!

I'm a big fan of the original turtles (and more so the psychotic Casey Jones) but I didn't take a peek when I saw it on the shelf last week. If they still have any copies tomorrow I'll take a look!

Well judging from your 1st sentence you will not be disapointed with this title then!

So is this an all new continuity? Also red headbands?

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so here ya go. Mr. Eastman is lending a hand with plot direction and Laird did one of the variant covers which I can't find anywhere!

Red headbands indeed! But there is also some of the cartoon era Turtles mixed in with that...grim and dark but some good commentary especially from Michelangelo and Donatello during fight scenes.

There are some head nods and in the 1st issue you'll see a kid named "Casey"...Baxter Stockman and....."General" Krang.

Cover art for the upcomming issue is probably some of the most dynamic TMNT artwork I've ever seen!

All new continuity, totally new layout that brings Laird and Eastman's creation with subtle hints of the cartoon and toy era.

I actually enjoyed this so much this may be one of the 1st comics I email in fanmail to for the 1st time in years.....I can't imagine anyone being disapointed with this.

If it wasn't for my cool as hell local comic shop (which I just found out about!) Telling about it on FB...I wouldnt have had any idea.

On a side note, tonight at midnight Dan DiDio will be there to release JLA #1........I may have to pass as driving around here with road closures due to the hurricane is near impossible!

I love it, I actually had to re-read it.

I'm wondering what they're going to do with Raphael and why he's gone rouge.

Looks like Casey Jones is off to a nice start where we can see the character grow and flesh out........and the cover art for # 2 looks sick!

I'm trying to find the Eastman variant, no dice.

It is a good first issue. I want to read more. One thing that is bothering me in the first issue is the time line. It seems like 18 months have passed which makes these Toddler Mutant Ninja Turtles. Why would Raph have left in the first 18 months?

# 2 just dropped this wk, I gotta pick it up.

I didn't quite understand what Raph's deal was either, I'm not quite sure on the time line as well. We see the fight with 3 turtles and Splinter against Old Hob and his gang and then it goes back to 18 months earlier with April O'Neil in the lab....where we see the turtles before mutation.

I'm sure all will be explained along with Raphael's depature and I'm assuming that when he returns he'll be brining Casey Jones with him judging from the last page of #1.

Also, their mutated turtles....having them mature at a very rapid rate wouldnt be too far fetched given the rest of the story.
