Rippled Effect in the paint was planned...gives it a heated battle look to it.

Is that Cobra camo? "No one will see us coming. We'll blend in the with night."
I kid. Everything looks great. What did you use to paint the vehicles? I've never tried painting toys before. I've only done plastic and metal miniatures for wargames.

That's pretty nice, I love the covered Hum-v.
I'm going to email a vinyl sticker guy I know to see if he can make the cobra symbol into smaller quater sized decals and various other sizes for just such applications... I'm thinking the covered part needs to have a slightly bigger cobra insignia.
He's on eBay and has never let me down on quality...

I have one of those on my laptop. I should take a pic of it someday... looks sweet. :)

Have you ever thought about wiring LEDs to make headlights and spotlights on any of the vehicles? I have thought about it, but I don't have any vehicles to try it out on. :(
I think it would be cool to see working headlights and spotlights on these vehicles.

Isn't there someone on TNI that customized working headlights on a VAMP? I also saw one dude drill tiny holes in his FLAGG and rig it up with Christmas lights underneath.

I have thought of doing it...but can't really find anything locally that I can tear apart for the lights. Well...other than HESS vehicles, which I've been collecting for some years and can't get myself to gut apart for something like this. Now...if HESS made vehicles compatible with this scale....then, just maybe I may paint and kitbash one.

I did something like this with a Decepticon base. I used the electronic board from a broken Shockwave then wired LED's from Radioshack into it. Just find any cheap toy with lights and you can do the same thing

I did this with some LEDs from Radio Shack a few LED flashlights and circut boards from bike lights. Also A LOT of patience

Once I free up some funds and some time out of the paint shop....I'll hit radio shack and see what they got.
Thanks for the tips!!

I'll hit up my friend from NASA, he's an expert on LEDs. He should be able to map out what would be needed to wire up an easy kit for headlights, tailights and spot lights. LEDs are cheap, they don't heat up very much and use less power than regular light bulbs.
I can see it now... I can sell custom headlight kits for GI Joe and Cobra vehicles on eBay, muhahaha! I'd make a small killing! :D
Interesting... :)

It was just an idea... since I have no vehicles to test them on, it would be a huge guess. Not so good for a business venture.
If I can get ahold of my friend at NASA, I'll post the diagrams for all to use. :D

I could give it a shot, or walk you through it. Either way is cool with me.
