Have you guys had a chance to see the new Friday teaser from comic con? WOW! Now this looks like a good movie! Jason looks as crazy as ever, with the old school hockey mask, lightning fast speed, and the sheer terror that teaser provides, its going to be a great ride!

Kane Hodder was at the toy show here in Pittsburgh this weekend, My friend met him, he said hes extremely tall ( my friend is 6ft4, and Kane towered over him ) but you cant definitly tell his age, and probably not the best person to play a 30ish yr old jason, so casting a new jason was a good choice.

HOLY SMOKE!!! I must see this movie!! I have been a Jason fan for a long time. Michael Bay may just bring a gore-fest terror that we have all been waiting for!! Isn't he also in charge of the Nightmare on Elm Street remakes too?? I don't know how they can pull that off without Robert Englund.. it would be tough.

Wow, looks pretty cool. I liked Freddy V Jason a lot, thought it was better than anything either franchise put out for a long time.

Robert Englund is Freddy. With all the burnt makeup he wears it would be near impossible to tell he's any older than when the first was made. It's not like 2008 Harrison Ford trying to remake 1977 Han Solo ( I mean come on the dude looks like he peeked inside the Ark himself). I'm afraid we'll get a nightmare remake with Marlon Wayons or Jack Black, or some other "comedic" actor to trying their hands at horror, while the director try's to emulate Freddy's wit from the originals.

Thats very true, but I had seen someone throw up a possible actor, and I tend to agree. Ben Foster, I think, could pull it off!

Englund already said he won't do the new Freddy flick, he acknowledged himself, that he's too old to be Freddy. But at the least, he should do a cameo.

Sorry dude, please don't take this personally.

Here I go o.k.

Kane Hodder was an overated Fatass, who was in the worst Friday the 13th movies.

F13th 7 aka Jason vs. Carrie
Jason takes Manhattan
Jason goes to hell
and Jason X for god's sake!!!

He lost his Job cus' he started telling the directors what they should, and shoulden't do with Jason.

Sorry man, please don't hate me :) but it's the truth

He added little touches to the character, heavy breathing, more aggressive and so on whereas before people like richard brooker were just slow boring stunt men.

In my opinion,Ken Kirzinger did an even better job as Jason in F VS J but you gotta give props to Hodder for adding more to the character and ultimately making him more popular.

Tried looking it up on youtube to show ya, but Jason used to run his ass off in the 3-4. This has been much debated over at Bloody-disgusting.com wich is the other site I frequent, but it's true Jason did run. Kane walked.

Don't get me wrong I like all the Fridays for what they are (wich is more than I seem to be able to do for the GI.Joe movie). However the only ones that are scary are 1-4. The rest are just entertainment.

You know what...They are ALL bad movies, But I like em'. Just like the Velvet Underground are ALL bad musicians, but I like em'.

I'll go out on a limb, and say that this new one may be the only GOOD movie of the bunch.

I't would be better if Tom Savini were doing the FX though :)

I'd watch anything with Jessica Biel in (which is why I ended up watching STEALTH and NEXT!).

A Friday 13th remake? Of course, at the time it was relatively 'original' (despite stealing heavily from Mario Bava's BAY OF BLOOD) but now there are so many 'teens in peril from mad slasher' films that I can see this one getting lost in the crowd.

you know what would be even cooler?!?! if it was half as good as that awesome Rob Zombie Halloween movie that totally didnt follow the true core of what michael myers is about and was totally lame....even though the soundtrack rocked.

BTW, I am hoping that you were being sarcastic, because I am.

This movie is going to suck. Michael Bay sucks. he is my arch-nemesis. Re-makes for the sake of un-originality and nostalgia cash-ability are disgusting and immoral. Friday the 13th? Nightmare on elm street? Rosemary's baby? The Omen? where does it end? why do these movies NEED to be re-made? Why don't these people do what the re-make was intended for, to find that obscure, outdated, or overlooked movie that just didn't quite make it into the mainstream pop culture and give it a re-birth. Take a film like The Day The Earth Stood Still. The original was phenomenal.....in its day. If you tried to show that to a group of high schoolers/college freshmen (kind of its target audience) they wouldn't pay attention because of the hokey effects and cheesy acting (which were top notch for the day). This film is getting re-made, if they are on the ball and respect the original it could be a thing of great beauty.

hhahah, in short F- Michael Bay and his rapage of my childhood loves: the slasher films.
BTW: The Burning rocks. One of Savini's first films.

Are you serious? In the original he was the same relentless, mindless killing machine with all the depth of a kiddie pool. Rob Zombie not only gave the character some actual semblance of depth, he didn't skimp on the gratuitous nudity and gore that so many so-called horror/slasher movies today try to do without.

The one thing I really did like about the original was the soundtrack, which Rob very faithfully sampled for the new one. If ANYBODY is gonna turn out a great slasher movie, it's Rob Zombie. I think people were just expecting too much after the demented masterpiece that was the Devil's Rejects.

Oboy. As a movie geek I hear a lot of people put Carpenter on a holy pedestel. Seriously, he made two, maybe three decent movies that broke some ground for the time, but then people also forget the ten mediocre ones, and the three or four that were utter and complete turds. A baseball player that knocks two out of the park isn't great if he strikes out every other time at bat.

O.K. Time to become Mister unpopular. Here we go

Rob Zombie- O.K. I don't like the guy. Didin't like white zombie, don't like his movies. I watched RZ's Halloween in the theater, it was Horrible. Went back to the theater to see it again to see if I was really shure it was that bad. It was.

My girlfriend wanted to watch it on DVD so we rented it. For some reason the third time I watced it IT SCARED THE LIVING HELL OUT OF ME! Don't know what it was. I knew everything that was going to happen, but the third time was the charm.

A murderous child beating another child to death wit a huge branch was scary

The Happening- The mass suicide thing was really scary. Best most realistic head shot I've ever seen. I'm not going to link it here but, if any of you had seen the 'Bud Dwyer suicide' clip you know what I mean. Bud was the politician guy who blew his brains out on live t.v. easy enough to look up yourself if you must. It will really ruin your day if you haven't seen it.

When a person gets a gun shot from a pistol to the head, blood continues to gush out as the heart beats, and ultimately stops.
The Happening is the only movie I have seen depict this.

Plus the mass suicide thing was just freaky!! That could do with the fact that I have recurring nightmares of this "happening" in my dreams.

That movie made what would otherwise be a beautiful landscape scene into a horrific one. Out of context a scene of wind blowing across an open feild would be beautiful. Like a bob ross painting :)
YouTube - Some new ones (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHXAE3FTtso&feature=related)
To take scenes like these and make them scary was the ..gulp..dare I say genius of the Happening.

I liked the film, and didin't even know why till I left the theater

Oh massive big S....the war is started.

The original Halloween: Michael Myers was scary because he was, for the most part, nameless and faceless, you projected the fear onto him. If you are going with the mythology of the whole series then he is destined to kill his whole family and those that get into his way. These movies are supposed to be something going horribly wrong when a cold, possessed, killer makes his way through a small suburban middle class town. it's scary because he is one of us, and he is in our community...and he has little emotion (a few scenes with Jamie and Loomis aside). The Halloween series was NEVER meant to be bloody and gory...and not too much sex in there either (when compared to NOES and F13).

Rob Zombies Halloween: should have been called Rob Zombies White Trash porno Jamboree, featuring 25% more douchebags in Michael Myers masks......and I don't care what anyone says, Michael DOESNT talk.

I love Rob Zombie, I love the Halloween series about more than anything on this earth.....but its like putting peanut butter on steak, just because two things are good....don't mean they are good together. Zombie is awesome at exploitation and trash movies....two things the Halloween series has NEVER been about.

If you are going with the mythology of the whole series then he is destined to kill his whole family and those that get into his way.

The Curse of Michael Myers isn't a mythology so much as desperate tragedy. Part 3 was a better movie and Myers wasn't even IN it!

These movies are supposed to be something going horribly wrong when a cold, possessed, killer makes his way through a small suburban middle class town. it's scary because he is one of us, and he is in our community...and he has little emotion (a few scenes with Jamie and Loomis aside).

I don't know what remake you're talking about, but I clearly saw all this in Zombie's movie too.

The Halloween series was NEVER meant to be bloody and gory...and not too much sex in there either (when compared to NOES and F13).

An entirely subjective term, because then you'd have to define what "too much" is for a murderfest. ;P

Rob Zombies Halloween: should have been called Rob Zombies White Trash porno Jamboree, featuring 25% more douchebags in Michael Myers masks...

Sorry, but that's not so much of an argument as typographical masturbation. :P

...and I don't care what anyone says, Michael DOESNT talk.

Up until the point he snapped at the beginning of Carpenter's version he must have been at least a fairly normal kid, otherwise he wouldn't have caught everyone by surprise. So what's the point of contention? He shouldn't have done it on camera? He should have stopped entirely when he went on his rampage?

Nobody goes crazy in one moment. Showing his descent as a more gradual spiral was far more realistic and believable.

I love Rob Zombie, I love the Halloween series about more than anything on this earth.....but its like putting peanut butter on steak, just because two things are good....don't mean they are good together. Zombie is awesome at exploitation and trash movies....two things the Halloween series has NEVER been about.

I wouldn't consider either of his previous movies to be "exploitation" or "trash". You could make an argument over House of 1000 Corpses, but Devil's Rejects was an increadibly well-written, well-directed movie with a ton of emotion and personality in each character. Is that what you call trash while putting Carpenter on a huge pedestel?

well All i know is that carpenter made 2 of my all time favorite films ever; Big trouble in little china and Escape from new york. now while escape from LA was pretty much a turd there was one and one reason only to see it...Kurt Russell as snake plisken. He was the only thing that made that movie even remotely watchable.

I think that's the film that gave me my 'eye trauma' phobia (the burn victim in the hospital). The end's freaky too, when the sheriff finds out he's one of 'them'.
I think it was a "nasty" here for a while.

Yeah it's great.

The first time I watched it the VHS Tape broke right as the sherif was discovering he was one of them. I was sooo pissed.

The second time I got my hands on a copy, I got it in the U.K. before I knew about country codes. Again I was bummed out. My computer plays it though. So it's all good...

well, Zefram I guess we have to agree to disagree. I ended up seeing the movie 4 times int he theater because a bunch of my friends agreed with you, and drug me to see it saying "there is no way you CANT like it". I disagree. It was trash. worse it was laughable trash and a whole generation of kids are gonna grow up with this as their impression of Halloween. We could keep this discussion on forever and at the end we would prob ably be brawling in the streets...hahaha.

as far as devils rejects, it was a well written/made movie, but it is exploitation and what is commonly refered to as "trash" cinema. As in it has more in common with movies like Scum Of The Earth, Three On A Meathook, Etc. than Citizen Kane.

To take scenes like these and make them scary was the ..gulp..dare I say genius of the Happening.

I liked the film, and didin't even know why till I left the theater

What kinda killed it for me, before even seeing the movie, was an introduction by M. Night for one of the trailers. The dude came off as way cocky and self-endulging, and I was a huge M. Night supporter. I loved 6th Sense, Signs, Unbreakable, and thought the Village ok, and never saw Lady in the Water, but I was pumped for this one.

Then I see that dang interview, and I couldn't help but form a negative opinion on the guy from it, but oh well, movie could still be good, right?

The deaths were pretty wicked, yes, but the rest was just, in my opinion, lazy and unorganized looking.

The constant close ups were killing me. Wahlberg sounded like he was knocked in the balls for most of the movie (and im a Wahlberg fan for the most part), the two kids on the front porch and how they turned from nice kids to goofy punk ass gangbangers in 3.2 seconds.(I actually cheered when the barrel peaked out). And come on, the lady at the end? Come on, one of the most annoying and out of place characters Ive seen in a movie in years.

The whole movie seemed like everyone was stoned (Im sure the hot dog guy was), and didn't have an actual personality, but just acted however the scene needed them to act. Now I guess you could argue that with "Well, the neurotoxins made them docile and stoned like, even if it didnt make them kill themselves, it still affected them", but come on, that movie was made for MST3K.

MST3K= mystery science theater 3000. Wikipedia it for more info.
In a nutshell its a guy and a couple of puppets who watch crap movies and make fun of them all the way through it....like a commentary track, but better.

O.k. yeah I remember them. Really most movies could use a makeover by them. It's like watching a movie with a bunch of friends when you don't have any.

Danger: Diabolik was lampooned (unfairly, in my view) on MST3K and I love that film!

lol, I didn't mean to come off as your opinion of the movie is wrong or anything :) I am a firm believer that anyone can like anything for their own reasons, and shouldn't be criticized for it, it's just that I really wanted to like the movie, and really wanted to see M. Night come back with a vengeance, but this movie just really didn't appeal to me, and I was just backing up my reasons why.

You liked the movie, thats cool! I just wish I coulda found some enjoyment out of it lol.

*hugs* lol
