Much like the first DVD set, this one has a very bare-bones DVD of "The Revenge of Cobra" Miniseries. So bare-bones in fact that they both have the same main menu! The episodes menu is different and this one has the new opening sequence and closing credits. Still no extras or anything.

Destro is the same figure we've gotten twice now, but with a new "cartoon-like" paint app. The body reminds me of the version 3 Destro from 1992 due to the all red collar and the red line that runs down the front of the torso. At first I wasn't impressed with the chrome head. I like the flat silver one better since it shows detail easier. However, the eyes on this chrome head won me over. The eyes are a dark green with a black outline giving it that classic cartoon look. Destro now sports a grey belt and boots. He comes with a small grey pistol and a Cobra Stand with his name on it.
Like I said, I love the head on this figure. There's really nothing new here. The body looks too much like the 1992 version and that puts me off, but that's just my personal taste. It's a solid figure that can work anywhere and has a classic feel to it.

Lady Jaye is here with her cartoon look down pat. This is the same body we've seen before but now there is a hatless head!
The head looks ok, but there does seem to be something slightly off about it. I think it's probably because they tried to make the 2-D version into an exact 3-D reproduction and it's one of those ones that doesn't translate perfectly well into 3-D. She definitely has her messy styled hair she had from the cartoon though. She also has a paint app that makes the body look just like the cartoon with the light green shirt and dark green pants. The belt and pistol are there from the last version but now we also have one of Lady Jaye's trademark spears along with a quiver holding 3 other spear parts! Each of the three spear parts has a ball at the end of it that allows it to fit snugly into one of the three holes in the quiver and is the way they connect together. One of the parts is a lower half with a silver cylinder and a hole in the top of it. The other two parts are tops that can each be plugged into the lower half to form a whole spear. Lady Jaye comes with a Pistol, Quiver, Whole Spear, Lower Spear Half, Two different Upper Spear Halves and a GI Joe Stand with her name on it.
This version of Lady Jaye is the best version we've gotten, even with the head being slightly off. The new accessories alone make this figure a must have. The paint app just makes it even better.

Roadblock is nothing new mold wise. The paints are very garish just like Stalker. They're trying to make the figure look like they did on the cartoon, but some slightly darker shades of the same colors would make these figures that much better. Roadblock got a new accessory though, his combat knife. He also comes with a GI Joe stand with his name on it.
Roadblock is a good figure with a bad paint job. If I didn't already have the first one, I'd be ok with this one.

The Weather Dominator takes the fourth figure slot as it's big enough to be a small play set. It looks just like it does in the cartoon with the exception of the seat Destro sits in when operating it. It's also affixed to a small base instead of a long telescoping pole that comes out of a huge snake mouth. The three main components of the Weather Dominator can come apart and be scattered to the corners of the earth. The controls have some nice detailing on them with the handles and targeting screen. What seems to be an added bonus is that the bottom of the base has three holes that line up perfectly with the three pegs on top of the MASS Device so you can attach the two parts.

The small accessory in this set is the Strangler Vines. They have a nicely detailed rock base and the vines themselves are detailed well. They're soft and flexible but do not have wires inside them like rubber bendy toys. Even without the extra stability of wire, the vines can hold a figure as big as Roadblock in them pretty well. They can fall over though, so to add some more stability to them, they have two holes on the rock base so it can plug onto a GI Joe stand. This will allow the vines to hold Roadblock completely off the ground for a while. He'll eventually fall over unless he has a foot on the ground but given what the vines are made of, it's pretty impressive they can hold him off the ground at all!
The MASS Device part that comes with this set is the Generator. It plugs into the back of the Console making up the bulk of the MASS Device.
This is a great set with some nice nods to the cartoon in the way of new figure decos and accessories. I'm also jazzed that we get a small play set with this set.

Thank you for the review and I agree with it all but I especially thank you as I never paid attention when I got it and couldn't figure out what to do with that Weather Dominator piece. It kept falling off my desk until now. Good review.

Thanks for your reviews..
I wish they were able to put the rotating wrists on Lady Jaye so you can pose her a little bit better with the spear.

hmm....i smell a "I love all things GI Joe" pass here with this review.
aside from the weather dominator being a complete piece, and not separated into three more sets...this set cant hold a candle to the first set.
if it werent for hasbro force-feeding us these sets to get the complete MASS device...idve left this set for some other lucky contestant.

Sucks that destro and roadblock are the same molds with the same cheap hands. Everything else is great.

Anyone else just have a flashback where they got in trouble for talking like that? I remember my mom yelling at me for that and for quoting Rapheal "Out of my face, JERK!" Now, she could care less, how odd, brain damage (Bill Cosby) is a funny thing.

Really!? I thought I denounced half the set....well except for Destro's head that is :D
Regardless, my main goal is to show people the toys, good and bad points and let them judge accordingly since personal opinion can vary dramatically between two people.

Finally got the set in my hands. Really nice it is too - Everything feels solid and well made unlike some previous repaints in box sets.
The Destro is superb! I've said in the past I was going to use him as "Red Jackel", but he's becomming my default Destro as he's so good. Lady Jaye kicks her single-carded version in the kaboose (although the face looks more like the voice artist for her than the onscreen character!) and Roadblock is good for a spare vehicle driver.
Even the 'creeper vines' are a fun accesory that look better than I thought.
I can't see me using the Weather Dominatpr much, but it's still a nice piece to display the figures around. I look forward to watching the DVD tonight when I'm all snugly in bed. Nice one Hasbro!

Got this on the weekend. Thought I'd share some quick thoughts.
The fact that Hasbro made the weather dominator so it could fit on the MASS device base is an awesome, truly brilliant undocumented feature. TWO weapons of mass-destruction for the price of one! If I have one criticism, a nitpick if you will, it's that the Laser Core section would have been a perfect candidate for light piping to give it a glowing effect without resorting to LED lights. Again, it's a nitpick on an otherwise great accessory.
I have mixed feelings about Destro. From the neck down I like the carded version better, but the vac-metalized head on this one is what Destro is all about. Obviously, there will be some customizing here at some point.
Lady Jaye is the reason I got this set, everything else is just a bonus. She's currently playing with the creeper vines on my table while Roadblock uses his brightly colored outfit to help Tripwire (from the comic pack) look for his keys.
The DVD here is a slight improvement over the MASS device in terms of picture quality, most likely due to the condition of the original materials. Again, no 5.1 like Rhino's, but a nice free bonus for those who haven't seen this story in awhile.

This is a very cool set. I love the Destro! The LJ is good. Roadblock is ok but if you put him next to the cartton Stalker, he looks much better.

Lady Jaye makes the first release just look laughable. I think the new green color is actually BETTER than the original.
Only flaws I saw were the wrists, and she could have used some SLIGHT lipstick. Not red, but a little lip color. Her face is a tad washed out. Other than that, she's one of my favorite 25th figures so far.
Destro I thought would become my default Destro, but he just looks a tad too cartoony and flat. The v1 25th Destro is more tastefully painted—much like the Takara paint job vs. Hasbro's for TFs. My v1 Destro had 1 green eyebrow due to a poor eye paintjob, so I gladly swapped the chrome head out. You're right, the eyes make this head. The chrome head photographs like ass, but in person, makes Destro... Destro. So I did a simple pop and swap with the heads, and V1 Destro now has the DVD chrome dome.
Roadblock has some contrast that I like over the v1, but I still have v1 as my default Roadblock. It was close, but I still prefer the darker color scheme. Although Roadblock, being black with dark clothing, is a tad monochromatic, and the DVD version has a good deal more contrast. What kills it in the end for me is the pants are a tad too orange, and the strap missing paint on the leg sucks too. His accessories suck (a knife?) but he could just as well borrow the big gun from the v1 version. Also, DVD Roadblock looks high, while v1 looks startled. I prefer the high look personally, so that's the head I put on v1 as well.
For 3 figures, a M.A.S.S. element, a Weather Dominator, a DVD and some other small extras, this is well worth $19.99. More than that, it starts getting a tad pricey for what it's worth.
For the Lady Jaye alone, it was worth it for me. I just need a cartoon-accurate Flint to go with her now. TF Flint looks out of place with those stupid Tiger stripes.

Great review, but this is sadly the least interesting DVD pack in the whole line for me. I still see it as one cool figure, two repaints, a DVD, two cool accessories, and a plant. I keep seeing this set all over the place, but I can't bring myself to spend the $20 on it.

finally picked up this set myself and man....I wish i woulda bought it sooner. All the figures are great and the DVD..i found myself feeling just like i did when i was a kid in grade school when i watched it(though did anyone else notice clutch went from his green uniform to his tan one quickly).
Destro is by far my default destro. Better paint apps, GREEN EYES, and just an all round cooler looking figure. Lady Jaye is by far and away one of the best reasons of this pack. Much more cartoon accurate and just seems to fit better than her hatted head version. I have to say not having an original roadblock This one defintely is better than his city assault version. I just wish he woulda come with his gun and pack, but the vines(which while cool i really didnt care too much for) and his knife are great to recreate that scene in which they came after him. The only thing that woulda made this set even better is a figure of the blonde cowgirl trucker that was trapped in the back of the rig with RB.
