View Full Version : did SE ever use his sword in the sunbow series?

well i have been rewatching the old Sunbow cartoon and noticed that SE is carrying a sword
i know he's a ninja why wouldn't he have a sword
it's not that he has one it's i can't recall him ever using it
and i even found a picture of him with his sword

Considering censor groups in the 80's I'm actually surprised he was even allowed to have it on his back :D

I remember that at first I did not know he was a ninja, due to the lack of me seeing anything except the file cards and a toon or two before the ol' movie came out. I always saw him as a commando, like the original file card told me he was. COBRA!

I didn't realize he was a ninja growing up watching the toon. I had the toy but he was always just a commando for me. I was so bad at not reading the card. Then he became the Wolverine of GI Joe and was everywhere as a ninja as I got older. Don't love him but don't hate him either.

He has it in his hands only once in the entire sunbow run.
I'm fairly certain it was in the ep where Dusty's a traitor and Duke's in one of his comas. A bunch of Joes are crawling toward a tree line and getting shot at. Snakes is crawling forward with his blade out. Even then it's only for a split second, and of course he doesn't actually use it for anything.
Also something to keep in mind: In the sunbow cartoon Snake Eyes is never called a ninja. Not that they ever call him a commando either, I just thought that should be mentioned.

no one used their own weapons. unless you count Snow Job.... because everyone one used his gun.

Like another poster said SE used his sword in the movie with the vines but if I remember correctly he used it again but in DIC's second season in just one episode.
