Went around Spokane today, slim pickings. I did see Tunnel Rat and Ripcord at the Wandermere Walgreens and a Techno Viper at the Walgreens at Division and Cascade. I left them behind as I already have those ones. Everywhere else pretty much had Duke, Firefly, Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander Renegades.

I wouldn't call them hoarders...I like to think that most of us will buy out a store to help out our friends who can't get out to go hunting. I know that's the case for me...most people have lives and can't spend every day hitting retailers. I know that Jimmy picked up a bunch of sets for the Cycle Armor and Hiss Scouts but those all went to follow collectors in the area. shoot, I know if i came across those this past week, I'd wipe out the store's stock to hook up friends. If nobody I call wanted them, I'd leave them. You just gotta take the opportunity when it's presented to you.

I found a bunch of restock quick kicks and spirits but i didnt need to buy them because everyone here has their fill already.

Second i wanna say if i didnt buy it to help my friends or who ever on the board someone else gets them...

i say you are all as guilty for not picking them up to help friends and just leaving them there and posting a sighting...because really if ross only gets 1 or 2 in im not going to head to that ross and pick them up because the chances are slim. now if its a mass retailer its different.

i will gladly help anyone on here...who has more than a 100 post count on here or on TFW2005. and who has friends that can vouch for them.....lurkers are assed out...sorry....

That's the nice thing about having a network; everybody is working together to make sure new stuff gets into the hands of fellow collectors instead of scalpers. If that means an entire Ross gets cleaned out day one, so be it. I'd rather a guy like Jimmy gets it, who will hook his friends up, than some fat greasy scalper, who would also clean out the place, but only for his own gain.

I have two little kids, and while I love them to pieces, they've pretty much grinded my toy hunts to a halt. Years ago, I used to be one of the guys you could count on to find stuff quick, and be pretty reliable with hook ups, but now I find myself more and more indebted to guys like Furious and Jimmy, who are kind enough to either grab stuff for me, or provide me with intel.

In a few years, when they are both in school, I'm hoping to get back out there, and start repaying those that have helped me out with good finds :)

Hell, I woulda done the same as Jimmy, except they would have gone to my friends instead of his. I don't really see much difference. There really just isn't enough of them to go around so who ever gets there first gets the gold, so to speak.

I don't really see anyone on here as a "fellow collector" though, more like competition. This is a me-first hobby when it comes right down to it.

I used to buy just one each of the stuff I wanted but after being on here for a while I started to realize that competition is stiff for everyone. Competition includes other collectors, kids, scalpers, and even hobby stores. I remember back when I worked at Everett Comics and Cards that the owners would go on shopping trips to Toys R Us and Target and stuff and buy out all kinds of stuff to mark up and sell at their shop. I was poor back then so I couldn't have bought anything I wanted anyway but it still seemed kinda odd to me.

Anyway, now when I go shopping with my kids and I see something I know people want I just buy for my friends instead of leaving it and chancing someone else getting it before them.

^that's the truth, dude...there really isn't much difference. so you really gotta have a plan when you know something is gonna hit. but the more people you have cooperating, the better. 5 people coordinating hunting in the area, is better than 2. I think competition is even more fierce down south than up north. I've been collecting a loooooong time and know most of the players in the area and I can say that I usually don't have trouble getting my hands on something.

As much as I like to help out a fellow collector, if you're not on my priority list, you're not gonna get helped. That's just the way it is, unfortunately. It's the whole supply vs. demand thing. More demand than supply for the cheap stuff. The stuff that's hitting big box retailers isn't too much of a concern cause the market will eventually reach a point of saturation on most things. MOST. But even people that don't collect joes will snag them if they stumble upon them cause they have friends that actually do collect joes. Not to mention, all the lurkers that poach these message boards looking for info. Hell, there's probably more of us on tfw2005 that hunt joes than people that post regularly on this thread.

I try to post sightings when I can. But most of the time I get my stuff on my own. There are more people in the south end it seems, especially on tfw that I end up just looking out for myself and a few others. I got all my prime toys with no help from anyone else. Like I said, I post sightings when I can. If it helps someone I am glad. I used to try to exchange numbers to text people and to better network but I usually come up empty. It's fine.

now for me I am still needing a storm shadow, I am not in a hurry i will find one or 2, the renegades figures i am just getting the 1 each of cause i really don't like them the Airtight is ok but as for the rest there is no need to have 2 of each. I hope i can get a scout and the other thing and i would not mind having 3 of the scouts just cause there is 3 hiss's i can attach them to for display. now the other day i did pick up a Ross Quick kick but i still need to pick up an earlier Quick kick that has a toys r us sticker on it

I hope stores restock soon. I don't have the hottest new Storm Shadow, but with all the movie versions coming out I'm not going to go crazy if I never see one on the pegs.

If there's one thing I learned as a former Star Wars collector there's a better, more "masterpiece" version that will eventually be released.

That said, I missed out on all the Resolute figures, so I am hoping to find a Renegades Scarlett before stores stop ordering. I hate that dry spell between main line and getting movie figures in stock.

On a side note i finally opened a Skystriker and put it together it is ok and i might be the only one but i like the original one better I think the white looks better then the grey. and the new one seams a bit more cheap on the plastic then the original.

I know, right...that was my old territory. I lived in Northgate, had an office in Woodinville and Bothell so hunted pretty much everywhere in-between. Certainly don't miss the traffic and lack of success in that area.

Grats, great find! I used to hit that Target when I lived in Lake Stevens a few years ago but I'm farther south now so I never go there.

I have not opened mine yet, I am remodeling my basement and it is a mess so I haven't been opening things yet. I too would like to know if you guys like it.

I don't mind the SB v1. At least it has all the weapons and painted black rockets. The v2, I leave behind. I don't mind the unpainted rockets so much but the right leg non-weapons kinda bug me.

The cycle armor is ok. It's a cool nod to the Robotech mecha. When armored up, it's kinda disappointing. The arm articulation is hindered quite a bit and the armor bits there seem to fall off at times. I can't really get any decent poses. It's good if you want to use the armored form as a display piece. It comes with quite a bit of weapons. So if you don't want to use the armored form, there's still a lot of playability.

My son opened his cycle armor and he played with it all weekend. It does have very limited articulation but he's got quite an imagination so I think he's alright with it. The figure does have a problem standing with the armor on. My only real worry is that one of the pegs will break off and the armor wont stay on. So far no problem though.

I decided to keep the hiss scout closed, not sure if I'll even keep it. It was a bit of a disappointment for me at least and my son wasn't interested in it.

I am one of there Joe guys. dont work there but I help out while there.I would like to meet more Tankers at the shop! think if you have not been there you should go. (WELL WORTH THE DRIVE!!!) }:o)

Definitely stay away from Amazing Heroes in Kirkland. Tyson's a douchebag...the kinda guy that makes you feel dirty after having a conversation with him.

for any hiss tank members in bellingham wa, walmart just restocked for the first time since december picked up the steel brigades and cobra troopers left a techno viper, airtight, lifeline, scifi, ripcord, tunnel rat, scarlett and a law and order. there is also a lifeline and airtight down at the walgreens off meridian. walmart also had the new marvel legends and some avengers figures as well as a bunch of marvel u figs(saw storm psylocke and archangel) happy hunting!!

Hey guys my Walmart is doing a reset as well. They haven't had Joes in awhile but I went today and picked up a Lifeline, Law and Order, Airtight, Tunnel Rat, Ripcord, 2 Zombie Vipers, and Sci-Fi. A couple of these were for my brother and the rest I added to my B/S/T list if anyone is looking for them. They also had a Cobra Trooper, Techno-Viper and a Scarlett that I could pick up if anyone is looking. It's good to live in a small town, I think I am the only one who is buying Joe's here.

Checked Lynnwood Wal*Mart this morning and they had a few new Star Wars guys (Mowhanic, etc.) No Joes but lots of empty pegs.

I picked up a Crimson Hiss and a VTOL at puyallup Freddies. Haven't seen a vamp. I would grap one at that price.

Awesome, keep us in the loop! I did my once a month round and hit all the local stores in puyallup and Bonney lake. Man things are BLEAK out there. One Walmart had seven completely empty hooks. The eighth had one renegades cobra commander which around here is destined to be the great peg warmer of 2012. I then checked the target and had a glimmer of hope. All pegs had product...with arctic destros. Really? Do we need to pay somebody to throw those things in the dumpster already?

Lakewood Wal Mart has 5 empty GI Joe pegs, and a lone Firefly hanging on the sixth, so I'm definitely gonna be on the lookout for a Storm Shadow. I missed my chance at the Target there 'cause I did see a lone Scarlett among the usual pegwarmers.
Tacoma Toys R Us is just depressing...overstocked with mechs still selling at 19.99 and nothing but Renegades Cobra Commanders.

The Black Dragon VTOL pilot and Storm Shadow are all I need to complete my 30th Anniv. collection.

also tip if your walmart has a RED tag on front of the Gijoe Peg it means your walmart will not get any more as it means discontinued.

This seems a little nuts to me. I run a business and rule number one is that if you don't have product you can't sell anything. Everywhere my boys and I go we see empty hooks. It's been that way for weeks. I don't really understand how people keep saying that this brand doesn't sell well. Everytime it hits the shelves it sells out. Anyone else sick of looking at captain America and iron man figs? Is the Joe line going to ever be like it was when we were kids in the 80s? Hell no. I understand that. I also understand not stocking too much so you are not left with a billion pegwarmers. However looking at how bleak it is here in the pnw shows me that something is seriously f-ed here.

I could buy on the web. I understand that but I'm a single income earner for a family of four so it's not my first choice. Plus I run a brick and mortar bike shop. We compete with the Internet every day. Even something as minuscule as a stupid plastic action figure from freddies supports your local economy and in these times isn't that important? Besides its kind of awesome to scour the pegs (when full) with your kids and see them get stoked.

If anyone in the puyallup/Tacoma area has some spares for sale PM me. My son REALLY wants a Law and Order. We are also looking for the new stalker, techno viper, renagades cobra trooper, and storm shadow (fat chance on that one). They don't head to be in packages or anything as they're just going to get opened and played with.

Walmart in Covington had POC destros for $3 those were the only i saw, unless someone else took the others....i would of bought it just for the shiny head lol...

My Walmart in the little town of Colville has not had Joes for a year then after Christmas when everything went on clearance they brought a box out, mainly Hazard Vipers and Cobra Troopers, and put them on clearance. I bought all of those and then whan all the Walmarts just did the last reset I found Airtight, Lifeline, Law & Order, Tunnel Rat, Ripcord, Scarlett, Sci Fi and Cobra Trooper. I picked up most of these for my brother who is now collecting. Keep your fingers crossed that your Walmarts will restock someday.

I was lucky enough to find one. I'm sure by now news of his "rareness" has reached employee collector/scalpers and we'll never see another one on the pegs. Everett TRU used to be notorious for that.
