Yup. Although only one was a TRU (Southcenter), but the rest were 2 Targets, a Walmart and 3 Fred Meyers (those don't really count I guess). Are they only at Toys R Us so far?

Saw the Universe Toys on the pegs at Walmart in Graham today, so they are starting to leak out. It is also where I picked up Snarl and Soundwave from animated (missed Jazz thus far). It is also where I found the vehicles today. That store seems to do a better job of stocking/ordering than the other Walmarts that I have visited. Oh yea, they also had the Wave 4 comic packs if anyone is interested. I am still looking for half of Wave 9 for my cousin, as well as any reminance of the early waves that he lost when his car was stolen (that still pisses me off, they stole the first 22 GI Joe singles that were released as well as the Target Exclusives).

Well thanks for the tip barrelassks! I picked up a couple extra Hiss Tanks and one Trubble Bubbles/RAM set. I don't really care much for the RAM. I left the other vehicles so there are a few more of the VAMP, Serpentor/Armadillo and another Hiss Tank.

I don't know if anyone has seen anything at Fred Meyer, but the one next to me has the VVV single carded figures for $2.99. They haven't had anything there since Wave 4.

Kent Target had the Vehicle packs today. A few VAMPS were left there as of 1:30pm. For the TF fans all 3 TFU were available too (the plane, Sunstreaker, and Prowl) and DC superheros (glad i only bought GG and not the whole set, they're not so great)

Picked up the SDCC Commander exclusives today. Sucks that you could only buy one, cause I told my cousin that I would try to get him one before I knew that, and they were sold out before I could place a second order. Now I have to decide if my cousin gets them, I keep them, or keep them and use them for trading fodder. I do like me some exclusives.

Also, at about 2pm today there will be the first two MASS Devices returned to the South Hill Target if anyone is still looking for them. My cousin decided that he didn't need to venture down that road, so I am returning them.

i found what you were talkin' about, they're the old V-vs-V single packs on tiny cards: what i was talkin' about is basically this same assortment, except the put them on new larger cards that are sort of a hybrid of the DTC era and 25th ~ more classic looking, and as far as we could tell from the packaged shots they come without accesories. i picked up a tele-viper for $2.39 (action figures are 20% off @ Freddies this week) cuz the 25th Tele Viper is pretty lackluster and the New Sculpt era TV is probably one of the best proportioned figures from the line.

Bellingham Washington Update. 2 Fred Meyers are getting new Valor vs Venom & wave 4 comic packs. 1 Target & its getting wave 1 vehicles, wave 1 12", wave 5 comic packs, wave 1 DVD packs & wave 8 singles. 1 Walmart, where I work, wave 9 singles 3 shipments that I know of in the last 2 months, wave 5 comic packs, only 1 shipment so far, wave 1 DVD packs restocked contantly, wave 2 12" now & lots of them, wave 1 vehicles in about 2-3 shipments so far.

I live in this general area. It's been like this since Wave 7 and Wave 4 hit. Whoever did this deprived some of us some new Joes. I always wanted to buy them and return them to other Targets because I want these stores to stock on some. Unfortunately, the other Targets in the area have been pretty dry and I could never carry out that mission.

I wasn't planning on dumping them at one store, but maybe one or two to even it out. Maybe a CC lover would love to buy them. The Seatac one has six pegs and not a new Joe since Wave 7.

Not necessarily. Walmart would have them first and then Target in maybe a week or less. I always seem to find the Wave 9 leftovers and those don't last long on the pegs. They are prety much in demand and there is always a shortage.

If it wasn't for the Fred Meyers (and a good friend on the lookout) getting them late last week, I wouldn't have the little extra BATs and Snow Serpents. I also noticed that some of the Walmarts and Targets have stocked more on Wave 7, but not recently. It's nice that FM is finally getting some in and expanding the hunting field. I skipped out on them after they never got anything else after the Wave 4 rerelease.

The only wave 8 figure that I found was the Cobra Commander with mass device crystals, so I'm looking for everything else. I don't understand how I've had such an easy time getting just about everything else, but wave 8 just seems to have missed our area (at least in any sort of quantity). It was doubly frustrating when some of the other boards kept going on and on about how easy it was to find wave 8 in other areas with pegs full of figures.

It also frustrates me because I had pre-ordered the figures through the Hasbro website, but when wave 7 was so easy to find I figured later waves would follow suit. I canceled my order and regret it to this day.

I found the black mask Destro at the Freddies in Issaquah. I found a single black mask destro/IG and tripwire/CC on Saturday. I knew that they had to have Falcon/NE and probably more gold destro packs. I went back today and scored. Strangely they've only had exactly what I needed so far from wave 5, no extras... I don't know if they're just re-stocking the pegs with a couple packs at a time or if somebody else has been buying them up and just leaving me what I need. The other odd thing is that this Freddies usually gets things a bit late - after the other Freddies in the area.

West Olympia Target had full revision cases out, both HISS drivers were there. They had Snake Eyes Parka, Flint Tiger Force, Baroness, Hiss Driver, etc. They put out a few Star Wars figures too. I didn't buy a thing though. I already have all those figures. Keep hunting!

I checked the Issaquah Freddies and they haven't gotten any additional Wave 5 comic packs in. They did complete a re-plan of the figure aisle though, with 3 pegs devoted to singles (up from the previous 1 or 2) and 2 or 3 pegs devoted to comic packs. Hopefully this is a promising move with more toys rolling in as we approach the holiday season.

I'm going to hit a ton of stores on the way up to Kirkland for the monthly Star Wars meeting. Does anyone else collect Star Wars out there? I joined the SARLAAC Star Wars group about 13 years ago and have really enjoyed all the meetings because we just do what I love to do, talk about action figures. Is there a group for JOE fans? I would love to join it if there is. Perhaps we should start one if there isn't. The Star Wars group really helps out one another when it comes to hunting. Cool! My name is Jim btw and Southcenter sounds great to me. All the Fred Meyer, Target, Wal Mart, and Kmart up here are still on Wave 7 I never saw Wave 8 and only saw Wave 9 briefly. I got most of Wave 9 except Ninja Ku (which I'm not sure I actually want yet). I have doubles of Barbeque and Bazooka.
They have all the Vehicles, DVD Packs, and Battle Packs v2. The Toys R Us has the Cobra Night Soldiers and Snake Eyes vs. Red Ninjas and the Officer 3 Packs. That's about it for now though. I'm going to head out today and hit them all again.

Oh and the comic packs are only up to wave 4. Although I did find one set of wave 5 up in Lake Stevens.

We could call ourselves the NW Viper Legion or something like that.

Just got back from Tulalip Wal*Mart and picked up Rock N Roll (non-25th card), Tiger Force Flint, 2x Cobra Soldiers Python Patrol, and Roadblock (modern). They had Blue Baronesses and Hiss Tank Drivers but I didn't pick any of those up.

The Wave 8 revision cases are beginning to make their way out. I saw them at 2 different Targets and a Walmart down south.

Do they contain all of the original wave 8 figures? At this point I could care less whether they put the figs on new cards - just need them either way.

By the way, I made it to the Belleveu TRU for the first time in several weeks and they'd reset their toy aisles, devoting actual space to Joes. They didn't have any new product, but the employee I spoke to thought they'd be getting more in after the reset. I also found a wave 1 Storm Shadow which the employee said he found hidden under the shelving during the reset. He indicated that he found a few other figs too, but didn't say which ones.

It is great to meet you! I had a great time at the SARLAAC meeting last night and hit Lacey Target and Walmart (same thing). I also hit Federal Way Target and Wal-Mart. Target still had 15 Cobra Commander (hooded), but they also had one Torpedo!!!! Wow! They finally got one returned probably. There is an old time scalper I knew from back in the day that works at the Federal Way Target, so you probably won't find anything there unless it is the day that he doesn't work. The SARLAAC meeting had a huge turn out. Well, Jim, I guess it's just you and I that are interested in starting a JOE club. I've found that meeting every month in the Star Wars meetings is a really nice way to share information and get to know other fans. Don't be afraid to join Jim and I, Deceptichage. We can hook each other up with the figures we can't find in the stores. BTW, I didn't go hunting today. I did open my Hoth Speeder Bikes and Dagger Squadron B-Wing! They're both really sweet! For anyone that is interested, what I mean by 'club' is just a way to keep an eye out for each other and trade back and forth when we see something each other needs/wants. Other than that I don't expect there to be any strings attached beyond simple communication. I certainly don't plan on attending any conventions dressed up as a cobra viper. ;)

Hey guys - sorry I've been silent on the club part of the thread. I'm open to the idea of better communication/assistance on figures. I know we try to point each other in the right direction now, but a more coordinated effort would be great. If I had more time I'd probably be interested in a monthly meeting or something, but that is probably a bit of a stretch for me given various family commitments.

Heh, I'm not too worried about meeting board members. I've met a couple from the TFW boards and they are cool people. I'm mostly in to Transformers and the 25th GI Joes as a close second.

I usually go hunting once or twice a week around my area. I tend to go a little further on my days off. I live in Kent so my area is the Kent/Des Moines area to Auburn. On occasion, Bonney Lake and Puyallup. I rarely go up north to Renton or South Center. As you may know, the Targets at those location were filled up with hooded CC and have not received anything for months. Linda lame of someone to do that.

I don't mind looking out for others on our boards as I post my findings here anyway. So yes, definitely. If you guys want to PM your needs and wants, I'll see what I can do when I go hunting. I'm more of a troop builder as you can see from my sig. Other than that, I just buy one of each.

Yes, a club would definitely help to find figures, but it is also a great way to talk to someone who shares a GI JOE interest. I suppose we could type our thoughts all the time, but I'm just too lazy to type that much. Northwest Toyz is a really cool store anyway and it's really close to the Toy Stable which has a ton of vintage toys. Just a thought for a great place to trade, talk, and enjoy ourselves. I don't dress up like anything. Although if I were to get a costume I would like to be DUKE! Speaking of conventions, did anyone make it all the way down to JOECon? I really wanted to go, but I spent all my money on a USS FLAGG. There's a comic convention in Portland on November 9th. I'll be going to that. I went to the Emerald City Comi-con too. Does anyone ever go to the San Diego Comi-Con? I sure wish I would've went this year, because that Cobra Commander figure is pretty cool. I went to Wal-Mart today. Last time I checked the Lacey Fred Meyer had every vehicle and a revision wave. I'm going to TRU this weekend too, but I have to take my daughter to ballet (family duty first). Right now, probably yes. Firefly was released probably in a revision case a couple months ago. I have not seen one on the pegs since. Depending on the numbers on back, it could be a return. Or possibly in a new revision case?

Noticed that someone saw an early wave Firefly somewhere. If anyone down south finds any unwanted Wave 1-3, and 5 single figures, could you please hit me up, or stash them. (I probably went through this when it happened) My cousin who I have been buying them for had his in his trunk when his car was jacked about 2 months ago, and lost all of the first waves of figures (22 singles), 6 Comic packs (since repurchased from BBTS Clearance), and the 3 target vehicles (he's on his own on those), so I am trying to find any scraps from those waves for him.

I found the Green Shirts at TRU Tacoma. They had two packs left. The crimson guard were long gone. If anyone spots them please let everyone know. I'm sure many of you will try to build an army with these guys. I only want one pack though. I'm going to save the army building when the BAT battle pack comes out. I asked the West Olympia Target to punch in the DCPI for the Conquest and Rattler. It's not out yet. It should be soon though. Keep your eyes peeled. BTW, I haven't seen wave 1-3 in a long time. I haven't bothered looking in stores unless I am there for something else. I just call and ask them to check the DCPI# and then they usually check pretty much all the stores in the Puget Sound area (if they don't, just ask them to. It is no biggie). Saves gas!

I predict the Rattler will show up sometimes next week. I'm going to try to get 2 of both. I want to open one and keep one sealed. Don't know if any of you have been to Comic Evolution (http://www.comic-evolution.com) on River Road, but Chuck, the owner, is an awesome dude, and he's got a 50% off sale on all action figures. He's got some Wave 8 and 9 in stock, and a ton of other toys.

Picked up a TF Flint for $4.50, and a DCUC Aquaman for $9.

PS: He gets all his stock wholesale direct, so no "scalper" worries there either, if that matters to you. :D

I lived in Lynnwood for 8 years. It was so depressing there I wrote a song about it. Why does it always seem to rain in Lynnwood, but no where else? No offense to Lynnwood. At least it doesn't rain as much in Olympia, o.k. it doesn't seem like that much. Anyway, both Tacoma and Olympia have greenshirts and CG last time I checked.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that. Alderwood mall is CRAZY big now! I can't believe how much Lynnwood has grown in the last decade. I used to work at Music Menu (long gone), Hollywood Videos (probably gone), and Pizza Hut (most likely still there). I went to ECC back in 93-95. Is there still a ton of Japanese people up there? That's why I took Japanese, so I could speak to someone on campus. Now I'm teaching Japanese!? Anyway, I heard wave 10 is coming out soon! That stupid Wraith Variant is going to be a pain to find. Has anyone seen the Firebat/Sharc OR wave 6 comic packs? I found a ton of the new Star Wars comic packs! They're pretty sweet for the most part. Keep hunting and YO JOE!

Honestly....Its funny how I get excited for the new wave and wonder if I'll even get the figures that I want and then....after looking and looking and looking. I find everything I'm looking for and then some. I have passed on probably 15 or more BATS. Seen countless Flash and Serpents. I'm sure I'll have no problem finding the figures I want. Although i doubt that I will find them at Target. They bought way to many old waves and revisions. Peg Warmers every where. And Hooded Cobra Commander. I think they bought cases of just him.

Well, if anyone is down south further, I went down to Portland this weekend. Sunday, Hazel Dell Target had 2 Conquests, and Centralia KB Toys had 3 Serps and 3 Buzzers if anyone needs those still.

Has anybody seen Wave 10, officer 3-packs, firefly/greenshirts & crimson guard pack, the new vehicle packs, etc. - basically anything really recent - in WA yet? I think somebody posted that the TRU 5 packs have been sighted, but not sure about anything else. It sure seems like a ton of stuff is hitting around the country but as usual things haven't started trickly into WA yet.

Hello Everyone,

Recently I have been going crazy deciding whether or not to open or keep my toys sealed. I'd like to know everyone's opinion regarding this issue. I used to just buy 2 of everything, but space is running out and I just started collecting GI JOE too. Here's my list of PROS and CONS:



OPENING

Dioramas
Save space

Loose Pieces in the vacuum cleaner

SEALED

Boxes look cool!
No dust!
Sealed toys usually keep their value (I'm not opening anything worth anything)

Unless its something really hard to find or rare i'd say open it. I have a moc collection and an open collection and as you say the moc stuff takes up alot of space. While they are great to look at moc you can't do dios or pose them at all which sucks. I collect gi joes for the fun of the hobby and to enjoy them. I would open up the ones you really like and have fun if I were you.

No problem at all. I used to buy 2 or 3 of everything but it gets to be to expensive. I still buy extras of something if I really like it or If I feel it won't be released again anytime soon. The Target cobra rattler is a perfect example of something that I felt buying more than one or two is a good move. Now as for toys going up in value its a risky investment. Some things will give you great returns on your money while other stuff ends up being worth less than what you payed for it. Valor vs venom and anything post 2000 for the most part is not going for zilch. I wish I could rid myself of some of what I have. Its ok though because in the end I think to myself I do this for the pure fun and enjoyment of this hobby. It takes me back to my childhood and great memories of the 1980's and to me thats priceless! As far as Sightings go over here on the east coast. I have found alot of older revision waves of singles older vehicles and the new tru battlepacks. Basicly alot of stuff I already have. At this point it seems online retail is getting in the new items faster than major retail chains.

Not a sighting, but ordered Serpentor for my cousin when I placed my order for the Transformers Exclusives. Got Serpentor today, by itself (the other stuff is a pre-order), and looks like they decided to give me two of him in the box, so chalk one up for the good guys (even if it isn't the most sought after figure.

Fred Meyers on River Road restocked single packs... with wave 8!!! >=(

On the plus side, Comic Evolution (also on River Road) got in Wave 10... got Mutt, Croc Master, Wraith (regular, no variant) and Duke.

He still has all of Wave 9, and the rest of the Wave 10 case minus what I bought, including both troop builders and the extra Bludd and Flash.

I talked to everyone about whether I should just open the toys or keep them sealed. I loved all your advice. I've decided to just keep them sealed and buy extras of the ones I MUST open. Somebody said it's a good idea to wait a year or two and then buy some of the toys you want loose when the prices drops really low. I just bought 9 vehicles from the 2002 line for $100 shipped off ebay. They were loose, but complete. It's amazing how fast the price dropped on those toys. Oh well, keep hunting! There was nothing at Lacey Target today...sigh.

I have seen those hooded CCs there since the beginning of the year. Unless someone buys them all or they get clearanced, I doubt they will restock. I don't even go there anymore to look for Joes.

^Someone should really inform them (nicely), cause in the retail world, shelf space if very valuable. I have worked at both Target and Home Depot in the past and they like to give "Sales Per Square Foot" reports. I find them pretty boring, but they really value shelf space, and to have it wasted on something that hasn't sold in the past year is worthless (no matter how small the product). Not sure how many Joes they would go through if they had the stock of other stores, but I know every other target seems to have no problem selling out figures.

Northgate target had 2 rattlers and 2 joe planes (soory forgot stupid name), lynnwood target 2 joe planes, renton walmart had 1 gold head destro IG 2pack and few others in the same wave.
